Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We just came back from eating out with the in laws. They are up visiting for a few days and took dd#2 back to the hotel to spend the night with them. The house is almost too quiet with her gone, although dd#1 has a friend in visiting from out of state so its not completely silent. Our younger one is just usually a flurry of chatter and activity.
-
We are also home from spending our day at my in-laws. We had lunch & an egg hunt. DD had so much fun!
Barbe ~ loved the pics, thanks for sharing.
Hope everyone had a nice day and did NO CLEANING!!!!!!!!!!
-
Happy Easter everyone. We are home from my MIL's. We had a great day! The kids had lots of fun too. Grandpa is a State Trooper and was driving around with the kids in the car pretending to pull people over. They love the sirens and loud speakers.
-
I have been reading this thread for days and finally got caught up on the whole thing. Y'all are having too much fun!! Can I play too? I am only 11 days post op, so my one thing a day won't be much (and it looks like that doesn't matter anyway!) but there is way too much eating going on here for me not to join in!
-
Come on in Tex, and here's your official welcome from all of us!
-
Was that Granpa and your kids Linda???? Whewwwww I thought I'd done something wrong!
-
Well guess I better turn in for the night. You all will know where to find me. Sheesh Linda when did Grandpa get so sensitive! Anyone got a file?
-
I work at The Brick. I think it is kind of like Rooms to Go in the US. I think....
I don't sell on the retail floor anymore, but work in a office and we sell to people who buy houses or condos and get appliance packages. They come to me to upgrade their packages, and once with me, I can help them with furniture too. I also do a lot of model homes for builders, staging them with furniture to help them sell. I LOVE that part....spending other people's money
We were the only "box" store open in the area! Home Depot, Best Buy, they were all closed!
-
I speak to Grandpa this morning and get you out on good behavoir! Sorry, he didn't know you were a friend of mine!! You've gott adrop some names.
Lot's of cleaning to do today. This house was filled with kids since Thursday night and I couldn't keep up with the cleaning!!
I'll check in with you all later. Time to go to the bus stop!

Good morning housecleaners.
Welcome Mary. Post surgery one isn't expected to do more than turn on the computer. That'll be plenty for weeks.
Here Mom, hope this helps.
Sorry, didn't make it to clean your house yesterday Barbe. I napped for two hours in the afternoon and to bed early last night. I don't know what happened but every once in a while I have a day like that where I can hardly drag myself around. Weird. I'm up and at 'em today though.
Happy cleaning everyone.
-
Thanks Sharon, I'll "file" it away for future use!
Glad you could reason with Grandpa Linda but I think he forgot one little detail......how am I suppose to get any housework done with this thing on all day?
-
Breakfast is ready ladies!
-
-
ohhh, I just had a smoothie of strawberries, blueberries, banana & cranberries. Well, don't want anyone to feel bad after all that cooking and prep, I just have a bite.
-
YUMMY morning, cleaners.
Mary, Welcome. This is a very upbeat place to hang out.... they let me have a membership card, even after I confessed that I don't clean much at all. The food's always great -- but the humor and upbeat attitude are why I'm subscribing.
Today is 'reclaim-my-work-day' as I've let things slide into a big sloppy puddle. I have much to do to straighten out who needs what: handouts, invoices, yada yada.
So someone push me out the door and if I come back before making substantial progress feel free to ignore me. LOL.
Will check in at the end of the day. First I'd better actually make a list.
-
-
Welcome Mary...good that you've taken that first step to a clean house by turning on your computer and joining us here. The coffee is always fresh and the food is delish.
It looks like someone's been in a little trouble while I was away. Now now, ladies....behave yourselves! We don't want anyone thinking we're trouble makers, just sweet, innocent gals sharing a laugh. I get the whole week off... my mom's visiting from California.... and she just LOVES to clean. I promise all of you that I won't deprive her of any pleasure. Last week my 1st ex husband was here, and that was actually a fun time. He bought me a new battery for my car and a ton of groceries from Costco before he left.
Being back at work 3 days a week hardly leaves me time to gab every day....I sure do miss all of you!!!! Think of me once in a while...

Now see, that's what I'm talking about! All that breakfast food! Best breakfast on the web!
Thanks for the welcome ladies!
I am off to my followup and I think getting up and dressed is my one thing today. Amazing how much that takes out of me. My friend will be here soon to drive me up there. I'm still taking Vicodin, so I'm sure the other drivers in my town will appreciate me staying away from the steering wheel!
I hope this drain comes out today!! Taking out a drain...that could count too, couldn't it?
Have a wonderful day everybody! The sun is shining here in Central Texas!!
-
Taking out a drain most definitely counts....for at least a few days!!
-
Mary -I think getting up, turning on computer, getting dressed (which I still have not done
) and going to dr counts for a whole lot!! You are still on bed rest duty dear one.
Stacy - what a wonderful daughter you are! So concerned about your Mum's happiness, I am overwhelmed. Something very nice about full cabinets, maybe a nesting thing. Miss you but glad you are doing well and back working 3 days.
Today should be my one day to recover from previous week & the weekend but lots of funny little things that need to be done (like refill scripts). I was so looking forward to quiet day in jammies and naps.Oh well, at least the sun is out today.
Be well all!
-
Mary was that you I just passed on the road?
-
-
Oh good, get 'er done Sharon! I'm at work but have my incision revision tomorrow. I need the extra help..
-
Ya, just read that on another thread Barbe. Sending hugs and prayers it all goes as it should. In for the day or longer?
-
Yikes! Just for the day I assume!
-
Mom - how could you possibly do housework with that one. Sit down, relax and I will send someone right over to remove that for you........tomorrow.
I have the cleaning bug today. Don't know why and I don't get it very often. I mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors. Cleaned the walls (yes, I have to do that too on a regular basis with boys), stained the walk out basement steps, they are 6 feet wide and 14 steps up, did 2 loads of laundry and now I have to iron. I will crash soon.
Hope you are all having a great day!
-
I started reading this thread last week, and it so inspired me, I cleaned my room this weekend! All those piles of magazines and odds and ends...picked up and thrown away. Rug and floor vacuumed. Bed linen (not just sheets, but duvet and shams, too) changed to my Spring Set. Desk, cleared. All surfaces, dusted.
It's not a big room, but the clutter made keeping it clean difficult. I hope to keep the clutter away for a few months, at least (lol).
One thing I do have is a cleaning person. She only does the bathrooms (3) and kitchen once a week, but that's a real help. Since I work fulltime, I need my weekends for other things.

Welcome to the club Nancy!

This is us at our monthly housecleaning meeting.
