Liz, use any of my squares if you need them.

You guys sure do crochet fast - takes me awhile to get a box.  I am doing good to do the single stitch - don't think bordering is something I am going to try.  Good thing that isn't a requirement for the squares.

    Laura...... I'll take them!

Thanks everyone.  I promised the girls I wouldn't buy the afghan this year!   I finished an afghan and it's in the dryer.  I will get a pic of it before I mail it.  I need to go get a few more boxes.

Naniam.... you are doing great!  Keep it up girl.

    Hugs

    Ellie,

    I'll take your box......

I was supposed to finish an afghan this week but had to do some things with DH (like clean out the storage room-YULK!)....

I'll get it finished early this week.

Liz, I am working on the relay project.   I'll give you a heads-up when it is mailed.

I have been asked to make a item for the silent auction for our Komen Celebration of Life luncheon.   We did the Komen Race For The Cure this Saturday and there was a fantastic turnout.

You are all amazing.   Thank you doesn't seem like enough to say to you...... we appreciate your help so very much

    Hugs, Madison

    Thanks kids.......

MB..... I have a box almost ready for you kiddo.

I have an afghan finished, I just need to go get a box and mail it.  I'm trying to get all my things ready so one trip to the post office is all I need to do.  I do so hate to stand in line.  LOL  When I have lots to mail, I use the little post office inside one of our grocery stores.  I get a basket, unload the car and off I go to mail it all.  Works great for me.

I will be starting to "save" squares for the Relay For Life afghan.  One of the girls was telling another about the project tonight at our meeting and she said she cries everytime she thinks of the afghans.  She said they are all so beautiful and full of love.

I'll pop in soon..... busy month for me.

    Thanks again everyone!

    Hugs

    Welcome to the Wagon Circle.

I think you will like it here.

The women in the Circle have found their way here from the Newly Diagnosed Forum, the Moving Beyond Forum and the Recurrance and Metastatic Forum. You see, there are no criteria to becoming a member here. Just like there is no criteria for getting breast cancer. We all, somehow, wound up with it. We may be newbies. We may have completed our treatments, we may be trying to live in our New Normal after we have completed everything they have asked of us, and we also may be facing our biggest fear: having done everything we could possibly do to beat it and it has returned.

All our cancers are different. No two pathologies are alike, all our realities of having this disease are different too. That is why all our Wagons are so different. You will see every shape, size, color and adornment on these wagons. But as different as they are they are still in a circle, a circle of strength, courage, friendship and hope. We have been blessed to have found our Sisters – sisters who understand everything we are going through and just “get it” without our having to explain.

We gather ‘round the fire and keep each other company, share a hug or a tear, laugh a great deal of the time, and do our best to keep those of us who are going through especially hard times feeling safe and loved and cared for.

We are family. We take care of each other and even have a place for your kin should you want to bring them.

There is no membership- no special code- the ticket of admission is an open heart. Just come on in and make yourself at home. We have plenty of horses and mules too. There is always an open spot by the fire…. No matter where you are in your journey, if you want to be with women who understand what it is to live with this disease, who all become newbies again with each scary test and scan, who all have walked the same path you have, then just follow the smell of the woodsmoke from our bonfires and come join us among the laughter and the cocoa and the stars.

    Love,

I,m back for the warm fire and some friends. My partner just started her third week of rads to the throat. She now has trouble swallowing, so the food I fix  we call "sliders" is anything that doesn't take to much work to get it down.Yesterday her Onc. prescribed a compound that you mix and drink to numb the throat so you can eat. This really bites as she loves to eat, and has lost weight as of late because of the swallowing issue. They say this stuff she has to swallow tastes like crap,so I hope someone in the chuckwagon has some good "slider" ideas for me.

Everyone stay warm and come back for some friends at the circle

As much as I'd like to receive one, I would like even more to knit a bunch of squares using up a lot of extra yarn I have lying around. My fingers like to be kept busy.   I should probably go through this thread to find directions, but if you don't mind my being lazy, could someone tell me if knitting is okay (instead of crocheting) and what size the squares should be.  Also, do you want a specific pattern?  I'm assuming you also prefer synthetic instead of wool so the afghans can be washed easily???  Many thanks.

Hi Liz - There's a batch on the way to you... I included a note in the box... PLEASE if my bordering is incorrect or needs to be changed... please don't hesitate to tell me. Honest... I want to make sure they're done properly - and not causing the Border Patrol Commanders (lol) any additional work. Have a nice weekend.

Your latest masterpice is gorgeous...I'm NV-ious... the fancy ones with the ribbon and hearts...hmmmmmm... would love to learn that... maybe one of these days!

    Jeanne,

The first post above has a great link to find basic 7x9 patterns.   Knitting is great!!!! We love working with the different squares.   The difference in texture and design is what makes our hugaghans unique.

    Liz, gorgeous.......love it.

MB, I received your box today.......I'll get some squares in the mail to you Monday or Tuesday.  I have to mail packages to Kay (her laptop screen broke and she's ordered a new laptop to be delivered here....for me to send to her base)

    Thanks so much everyone.............

Oh,  in the last 4 weeks my office has had 2 bc diagnosis.....the mothers of 2 bosses have been diagnosed.....we have to find a cure

WTH - I just cannot believe that this insidious, herrendous disese hasn't been or isn't cured... Why?... OMG... I just hate this... .. I simply cannot and refuse to believe that this disease is SO complicated, that NO ONE ONE THIS FRICKIN EARTH can figure it out?... we have made so many accomplishments in this country/world, with the industrial revolution and the computer/internet technology, forensic science and military technology... I refuse to believe that a cure has not or cannot be found. I am on a mission... more to come... Gawd... I hope I don't find out that a cure is not as profitable as the disease...
