I would be happy to border my squares - but I am totally clueless as to what I would need to do? Can you explain it or tell me what to google? Thanks!

We do a black double crochet border around each square.       In the corner we add one or two double crochet stitches to make it easier to stitch together (with no gap in our afghan).

Here are two close-up pictures showing the double stitch pattern.

    Laura,

I'll take a few pics of bordered squares to post.     I really though I had a few single bordered squares in my photo pictures, but seems it don't.     It may be later this evening before I can upload them for viewing.

    Jackie and all our ladies,

When I first started bordering the squares I was trying to do the same number of double crochet on the top as on the bottom AND the same number of double crochet on each side.    This way of doing the double crochet border made me crazy.    I tried for days and days to make this "even" system work and realized that it just doesn't work.  It was just making me crazy.

Please, don't try to count how many double crochet are on the top and bottom and  each side to make them even.   I tried it---and it doesn't workLaughing

I will be more than happy to  mail a bordered square to  anyone that asks.   It may help to see one up close and personal.  It does take bordering a few squares to get the "hang of it".

If you are uncomfortable doing a border, please know that it is not a requirement to participate in this project.    We love your squares and participation and would not like to make anyone feel uncomfortable or not participate anymore.

Remember, perfection is not required only lots of love and hugs in each square.

    Thanks and hugs,

    Madison

Hey Jackie.... you should have seen me when I first learned to border!  LOL  Like Madison, I wanted to make sure everything was equal.  As she said, that doesn't work.

I've finished an afghan and will post (hopefully) a picture tomorrow.  My camera and I are having problems.

I will be working on another afghan for my Relay For Life live auction.  I promised everyone this year I wouldn't buy it.  If anyone prefers I not use their squares in it, please let me know.  It won't offend me at all.

Have a great weekend.  I'll try to pop in later.

    Hugs,  Liz
