Just to set the record straight, the CEO of Cat said, actually they'll have to lay off more people.
So when the ONE speaks, how much of it will we ever be able to believe? Some? None? Or just his salutation? Did you hear him backtracking already? UM, er we won't be expecting any change till the end of this year. $1.1 trillion being spent, and we get UM, and ERs.
Let's all enjoy our $13 a week, next year it will be $8.
-
Shokk is fantasizing again. Battle stations everyone.
-
You know what they say........if the houseboat is a rockin don't come a knockin............
Shokk
-
Please don't go shokk! We need you! If you are going North, come way north. We need all the help we can get up here!
Boehner says it all:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvnwOjDjnH4
So they all are signing on to this behemoth "stickittous" bill so Pelosi can go kiss the pope's ring. How stupid can these idiots be, to sign something without even reading it. And then Shumer gets up there and complains that the republicans are obstrutionists? They do not need the GOP to pass this mess, so how are they obstructing anything? Well the demwits are digging their own graves. When people start to pick this thing apart, and the American people see what is actually in this bureaucratic nightmare, the revolution will begin. Even that lady who thought Obama was going to pay her mortgage and her car payments may even finally see past the nose on her face.
-
He is the Senator that was the one nay vote that kept that stupid breast cancer research bill from passing that provided millions to a research facility that was operated by one of the biggest Democrat lobbyist in Washington.........and she would have made millions and just a couple of years before they had already given the same research facility millions and they still didn't come close to curing and/or preventing bc..........all he wanted in the bill was that more then just that facility would get research money.......he wanted to spread it around and also not just do breast cancer research........he wanted it for all cancers............I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!...............Sherri maybe he can run for governor............Shokk
-
Then I would be first lady of Oklahoma.............hmmmmm...........not sure how I could tell my parents..........the shame............don't care........he is worth it............WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO...............Shokk

They're Just Not That Into You by Monica Crowley (more by this author) Posted 02/13/2009 ET
Updated 02/13/2009 ET
In 2001, when President Bush's chief political strategist Karl Rove moved from the campaign into a senior position in the White House, the Left went mad: how dare they "politicize" the White House, they yelled. During the 2004 presidential campaign, they went wild with accusations that Rove (and by extension, Bush and Cheney) were working hand-in-glove with the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth to try to sink John Kerry's candidacy.
That was not true, of course, but that hasn't stopped them from making the accusation to this very day.
In 2006, when President Bush's Justice Department exercised its prerogative to dismiss seven U.S. attorneys, the Left screamed bloody murder. They yelped that it was the obscene politicization of the presidency. Rove and his evil band of conservative operatives had to be stopped, they implored, mainly to each other.
And yet.
Nobody has said a word when Barack Obama's chief political strategist, David Axelrod, was brought into the White House in a senior position.
Nobody has said much when The Bama moved the U.S. Census from the Commerce Department to the White House, to be overseen by partisan attack terrier Rahm Emanuel. Congressional redistricting (and whether Republicans will be apportioned more seats in places like Utah, for example) and the allocation of federal money hang in the balance. This is why the Census was kept in the Commerce Department: to make sure it was immune from partisan influence. Until now.
Nobody has said much when The Bama brought into the White House counsel's office a 29 year old campaign operative, Shauna Daly. Her job is one they've created just for her: "White House Counsel Research Director." She holds no law degree and has zero legal training. So what will she be doing on our dime? Digging up dirt on Republicans. She's a longtime opposition research specialist.
And nobody has said much when Rahm began coordinating 527 group attacks on Republicans from the White House. According to www.whorunsgov.com, The Bama's supporters, AFSCME and the labor-backed Americans United for Change, are beginning a major advertising blitz aimed at Republicans who oppose the $1 trillion socialist nightmare. The White House was told in advance about the ads, which go much further in their attacks on Republicans than The Bama has gone publicly. The White House gave its tacit approval to the attacks.
This is all very "Mr. Emanuel, in the West Wing, with the Candlestick."
If President Bush had politicized the White House in this way, everyone from Nancy Pelosi to Keith Olbermann would be calling for his impeachment.
Lesson for Republicans: enough already with the virtues of "bipartisanship." The Bama and the Democrats have no intention of being bipartisan with you. They are doing everything they can to destroy you.
As soon as you realize that The Bama and the Dems just aren't that into you, the faster we can nurse the Party and the conservative movement back to life.Monica Crowley, Ph.D., is a nationally syndicated radio host and television commentator. She has also written for The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Baltimore Sun and The New York Post. http://www.monicamemo.com/ -

-
Interesting follow up on poor henrietta hughes. Did anyone see this in the MSM?
http://www.winknews.com/news/local/39518252.html
I just have one question. Why isn't her 38 year old son working?
-
i have a question. why are repubs being called obstructionists because they want time to read this stimulus bill before voting on it. i don't give a crap what happened during bushes time or clinton's time. to me this is just plain common sense regardless of what party is in power. isn't this what should be done with each and every bills that comes before congress. i don't want to waste a perfectly good nausea pill on this nonsense. and of course on a holiday weekend and lets not forget nancy's appt. with the pope.
-
Maria, I know what you mean. I have heard some over the top lefties say that they are evil and hate our country because they would not sign. These same worshipers say that these Republicans just don't want to help Americans. Insane I say, to think that.
Democrat or Republican, these men and women are doing what they THINK and BELIEVE is right for their people. We think they're wrong, they think we're wrong. But I am not a toddler and going to shoot my mouth off saying the other side must be evil since they disagree with me.
Obviously, some have their own agendas -- I think Frozen Face has hers and that has to do with promises to some in California and probably the Bay Area. Do I think she is controlling, pushy and wrong? Yes. Do I think she is dumb? No!!
I think we all know that the Democratic president, Bill Clinton, with the Republican Congress, passed that insane bill into law which deregulated the mortgage and finance industry. Both are to blame and I don't give a crap whose fault it is!!!!!! Just fix the dang thing.
I think people who listened to Bill Maher on Larry King and think that BM has anything valid to say, probably also watches SNL for their news and other political commentary. BM saying in a positive way that there is a learning curve and people thinking that's ok??? Our economy is too fragile for that and Hillary and McCain both said this. Even Biden said it.
I have to say that conservatives who are saving their money in order to make the plan fail are just plain mean. Saving because it's the right thing to do in a scary economy -- well that's smart. There is no way I would consider spending a chunk of change in this economy, who knows if you'll have a job next week!
I can think of lots of things that would help people -- like how 'bout having lotteries that don't just have ONE freaking winner. How about having Super Lottos that give the award to 50 people at a time........?????????? How about having City Lotto so you're assured that your neighbors will be winning and 1/3 of the money goes to fund libraries and after school programs or pays the city electric bill that way all tax payers benefit?
-
$13 a week is not going to help most of us. I saw that program on Appalachia. It's sad. The only way out for the people in the mountains is work in the coal mines. Wages and benefits are great ($60,000 to start) but black lung is something they risk getting along with the inherent dangers of mine collapse. But they have to pass drug screens which means lots don't qualify. The one mine has 100 openings!! The owner purposely lives close by and built a big house to signify his commitment to stay, and to show them what they achieve. But I would be scared to take on a coal mining job ....... Those people live in squalid conditions without food and very little hope. It's shameful we have that going on here. Our $13 a week won't help us but it would change their lives if they had a bus system or if a Customer Service phone bank moved there instead of frickin India!!!!!!!!!!! There should be tax breaks to get a business to go there! Those people are not a hopeless case.
-
Viv...I asked that question about her 38 year old son the moment I read about her. The whole thing stinks...there is something wrong with this picture.
-
I am going to hoard my $13.00 a week...if I live long enough, say another 100 years I will have a nice chunk of change! However, with inflation (that is coming at us like a ton of bricks), I may have to use that $13.00 to buy a loaf of bread.
For them to even put that ($13.00) in writing is an insult. It's like when you do annual reviews for excellent employees who exceeded all expectations and you tell them they will be getting a 1% raise (because that's what the man told you they could have) and they sort of look at you like you are NUTS! (One time when I got a 3% raise I told my company to keep it because obviously they needed it worse than I did. I also quit and found a job paying $22 k more a year...LOL, divine justice!)But, back to employees, shortly there after they give you two weeks notice! Wouldn't it be nice if we could give the dimwits two weeks notice?
-
Paulette, you're right, it's a slap in the face to get that .. and then 1/2 that the next year!!!!
And what really pisses me off is that Angela died this morning. Rather than worry about fixing up federal buildings why not hire people to build research facilities and hire people to work in them. How about the government forcing the drug companies to use their windfall profits to reduce the cost of rx meds and put the money into finally solving the problem??? What about Standing Up to Cancer????
I am so upset about this this morning.
-
40% of the US population does not support the bill ........ that's alot of Americans. Paints a different picture to look at the volume of people angry about this.
I don't think people are indifferent to the plight of people. Americans are generous with words, money and hard work. I believe people do not want to throw this money away on things like saving a field mouse in SF Bay Area, remodelling the Mall (which got thrown out), water parks, etc. I don't think Americans would disagree with putting some of the refineries back on line -- they are old and the gas companies tell us that even if we had more gas, they can't refine it fast enough -- well why not fix that???
I don't think Americans would have faulted building wind mill farms or installing solar panels on federal buildings or state buildings -- provides work and saves money.
How about making sure that the states spend the money on making sure the bridges and overpasses are safe?
Funding any recreational activity or remodel is just like someone said before -- puttin' lipstick on a pig.

Starla, your post is empty .. or you pretending to be an empty headed _________(fill in blank)?
-
Good news, we do not legally have to pay our taxes:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjGy9gjcoIo
Now after seeing this, if you can understand how, please explain it to me! LOL
-
That video was actually part 2, this is part 1:
-
There is something to be said for not paying our taxes. Look where it got Geithner. It has been tried by many, some are in jail, yep only Geithner has the inside scoop on how do it legally and get ahead.
Anyway, GM might be talking bankruptcy. There goes our money as was predicted. Or is this a ploy to get more money out of us? They better hurry we're spending it faster then a speeding bullet. Or should I have said faster than a speeding train on its way to Vegas?
-
I am happy that the PR firm stopped representing Octo-mom. I don't understand the sickness this woman has or the selfishness. She spent OVER $100K to get the in-vitro on these last babies. She already was unable to support herself, was getting aid from the State, living at the home of her parents with 6 kids in a 3 bedroom house. How unfair to treat your own parents like that who obviously had issues with what she was doing.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090214/ap_on_re_us/octuplets
Now, she's got 14 children to care for. She was on the news and she said she was going to go back to school to get her degree. The reporter mentioned though that when she lands a job, the salary will be at most $60,000 a year. But with 14 kids, rent, food, clothing, medical, transportation, etc .. she won't be meeting her needs. In fact they said, after taxes she won't be able to afford day care! So her idea of going back to school is not realistic. I also think that if she is making $60K she would automatically disqualified for all state and federal aid .. including the school lunch program.
-
I pay $225.00 per week for 2 children to be in daycare. With 14 this woman would pay $1575 per week. For 52 weeks thats $81,900 per year.
