Hillary defintely made a bad career move.
-
They gave it to her so she would keep her mouth shut and not have comments like, "Well, if you had elected me, I would be doing it this way." He's got her under his thumb and he can send her out of the country at a whim. This way, she won't be running against her boss in 4 years.
-
Don't underestimate Hillary. She may be on the inside so she can gets some facts on him and launch a countrerattack if his poll numbers start to slide. Who knows.
I am so glad Gregg quit. Let the dems go down with their own ship.
-
YES! Judd Gregg did the right thing! I'm so happy that Scottie beamed him back down from whatever planet he was sent to. Who's telling the truth. Judd Gregg says he informed the WH a few days ago according to a staffer. Obama said today he was surprised. Hmmmm...Guess it doesn't make any difference. It is being reported that Gregg was very unhappy witht he stimulus package. I think that sealed his decision.
This administration worries the crap out of me.

I WANT TO DECLARE THAT I LISTEN TO FOX NEWS!!!
Why would I want to listen to the liberal cable networks or MSM news after how they reported this election. They were in love with one man. It was sickening. HOWEVER, I do listen to CNN once in a while. I trust Fox. I have heard them more than once correct themselves if they reported something that was not true.
GOOOOO FOX! And DOWN WITH THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE ACT!
-
Rocky, I just hear Megg Whitman say she's gonna run for governor of California. I was listening to Glenn Beck and trying to read here at the same time (not good at multi-tasking). She says that the schools there rank 48. And next year they'll be releasing prisoners because, I guess, not enough room or money..didn't quite get that one. Oh, ROCKY, you'll like this one. They spend five billion dollars on illegal aliens. She's not for off shore drilling, That's bad, but I guess that's the California way.
-
I heard she was running but I don't really know much about her ... Californians will probably want some Hollywood actor again. Or maybe another Gray Davis who sunk us into the toilet.
-
She seemed pretty smart. We'll have to keep an eye on her. I don't know what party she belongs to, but that doesn't matter. Course I'm not from California, but that doesn't make any difference.
-
Come on Shirl, put your two cents in --- we had everyone who didn't live in California giving us their dimes, quarters and dollars worth of thoughts when Prop 8 was on the ballot ... not living in California didn't stop them from trying to influence our vote.
-
What is happening with Prop 8 by the way? Is it still in the courts?
-
Saw this joke for you married ladies!
I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner.
I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?'
'No, I had to stop drinking years ago', the homeless woman told me.
'Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?' I asked.
'No, I don't waste time shopping,' the homeless woman said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.'
'Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?' I asked.
'Are you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!''Well, I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight.'
The homeless Woman was shocked. 'Won't your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.'
I said, 'That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.

Sorry to butt in but I was on wikapedia(spelling?)and read this about the stimulus bill.It truly is scary. Does not sound good for any of us!!(If I understand it right)....Has any one heard this part of it?....."The National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure the doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective so as to reduce costs and "guide" the doctor's decisions (p.442, 446). Hospitals and doctors that are not "meaningful users" of the new system will face penalties by the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose "more stringent measures of meaningful use over time" (p.511, 518, 540-541). The Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research ($1.1 billion)[18] (p.190-192) will slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are expensive. Medicare would apply a cost-effective standard set by the Federal Council for the elderly (p.464).[19] Drugs "that are found to be less effective and in some cases, more expensive, will no longer be prescribed." It approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.[20][21]".......
-
Yeah, aurora, we have discussed this a few pages back. This goes along with a book that Tom Daschle wrote about revamping the health care system. Fortunately, Daschle was sent packing, but his plan is still in the "stickittous" bill. This is why we have been burning up the wires here. You are welcome to jump in any time.

I was watching Greta Van Susteren tonight. She had Lindsey Graham on. I adore that man. Anyway, it was brought out that Reid has added 8 billion dollars for a railway from Los Angelos to Los Vegas without anyone knowing! WTH!!!???? Graham also said the four million for STD was added put back in. Graham said that only 20% of the money will be used over the 18 months. Graham said this "Stimulus Bull" (my name, not Graham's) was a National Disgrace. Even Greta, who is not a conservative..she was a Hillary fan...says this BULL is incomprehensible.
The "Stimulus Bull" has not been written and they are supposed to vote on it tomorrow. They WERE going to give Congress 48 hours to read before voting on it. Now they won't even have that little time because it's supposed to be voted on tomorrow..don't forget...BamBam wants it by President's Day. BamBam should stand up and say...no vote tomorrow until the OUR elected officials have time to read it. Heck, 48 hours isn't enough!
I am sick to death at watching how our government is being run (ruined).
I want to start drinking the Blue Koolaid that the people who are in favor of this BULLmust be drinking. I want to be happy like...WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
When BAMBAM was at the Caterpillar factory he said that the owner, CEO..whoever he is..said that after this BULL is passed that he could RE-HIRE people that have been laid off. Lies, lies. The man said he would NOT be able to re-hire people. He said MORE people would probably be LAID OFF! Lots of "misunderpandering" going on in this administration.
Enough for transparency.

Our government run health care at it's best.
Vivre, would you post this on the alternative thread PLEASE?
Vitamin D Council Newsletter
Friday the 13th, February, 2009.
Emergency!
On Friday, February 6, 2009, Medicare announced its intention to stop paying for vitamin D blood tests in many Medicare districts. If this rule passes, the change will quickly extend to all Medicare districts. Private insurers will then follow suit, denying payment for vitamin D blood tests, even for the diagnoses of vitamin D deficiency. Medicare proposes to pay for vitamin D blood tests for only few limited indications, such as rickets, osteomalacia and chronic renal failure.Draft LCD for Vitamin D Assay Testing (DL29510).
This rule change flies in the face of an enormous amount of research, some of it published in the last few months. For example, several weeks ago, the British Journal of Cancer reported that in men with prostate cancer, those with highest vitamin D blood levels were 7 (seven) times more likely to survive than were men with the lowest levels (RR 0.16). If any media stories appeared about this amazing discovery, I am unable to locate them.Association between serum 25(OH)D and death from prostate cancer
Apparently, Medicare's reasoning is not understood in England. A week ago, researchers at Oxford discovered the long-sort genetic link vitamin D has with multiple sclerosis. According to Medicare's new rules, if you have MS, or don't want your unborn baby to develop it, or have a family history of MS, or just don't want to get MS, you will have to pay for the blood test to decide how much vitamin D you should take to optimize your 25-hydroxy-vitamin D level.MS link to vitamin D deficiency hailed by politicians as giant leap forward
If you are pregnant, and want to reduce your risk of caesarian section by four-fold, you will have to anti up.Low vitamin D may increase chance of a caesarean delivery
Patients with diagnosed colon cancer are 48% less likely to die if their vitamin D levels are high. If you have this dreaded cancer, how do you know if your levels are high?Vitamin D May Promote Colon Cancer Survival
If you fear getting demented, pay up. Recent research indicates people with impaired cognition are twice as likely to have vitamin D deficiency.Vitamin D is mental health aid
If you have Parkinson's disease, or don't want to get it, get our your wallet.
Study finds link between low vitamin D and Parkinson's disease
Even the American Academy of Pediatrics recently stated,
"Given the growing evidence that adequate maternal vitamin D status is essential during pregnancy, not only for maternal well-being but also for fetal development, health care professionals who provide obstetric care should consider assessing maternal vitamin D status by measuring the 25-hydroxy-vitamin D concentrations of pregnant women."Prevention of rickets and vitamin D deficiency in infants, children, and adolescents.
That is, the American Academy of Pediatrics now suggests vitamin D blood levels be measured in all pregnant women. Expectant mothers, concerned about their baby's "fetal development," will soon have to pay for the only test that will do what the American Academy of Pediatrics now advises, tell them if their unborn baby is vitamin D deficient.
I could go on and on. Now is the time the Vitamin D Council needs your help. I want you to do two things:
1) Email the person taking comments, Medicare's Ms. Gina Oliveri, at Gina.Oliveri@ugswlp.com, and tell her your feelings about this proposed rule change. Include your reason why this test is crucial for the health of Americans.
2) Send an email to your Congressperson and ask them to investigate Medicare's "Draft LCD for Vitamin D Assay Testing (DL29510)." Tell your representative not to let this happen. Simply click on the link below, fill in your state and zip code, go to your Congressperson's website, and then click on "contact."Write Your Representative
Of course, this rule change will help the finances of the Vitamin D Council, as it will increase sales of ZRT's in-home Vitamin D test, which generates ten bucks per test to us. However, this rule change will end up killing Americans. We cannot let it happen.I can't stress enough how important this is for the public health of the United States. On February 21st, in just nine days, Medicare will not allow any further input by citizens, so email both Gina.Oliveri@ugswlp.com and your Congressperson right now.

Hello All,
I was just cleaning up the boards a bit, and want to ask certain members to please NOT refer to people from other threads with acronyms, or other nicknames. It is not abiding to the Rules of Conduct, and is certainly not "repectful" to the individuals or the to the Breastcancer.org Community at large. If this continues, we will be forced to delete and ban.
Thanks for your understanding.

Surely you remember, I think it was Missouri, that was going to arrest anyone they considered spreading/saying 'improper' things about Obama? Now, Bill Clinton is in the mix calling for the Fairness Doctrine. I wonder why the Dims are so worried about the Fairness Doctrine and the Rush Limbaugh's and Glen Beck's..afterall...didn't Obama win? Even with the current state of talk radio? Isn't that what he told the Republicans as he 'reached across the aisle.' I won, so I trump that.
Interesting that for the ONE conservative news channel on cable (FOX), there are 3 liberal network channels (ABC, NBC, CBS) and at least two liberal cable news channels (CNN, MSNBC). So, if the Fairness Doctrine is reinstated, does that mean Comcast needs to find four more conservative news channels to make the news field even? I'm all for that.
-
They want to shut up the opposition because they want to stay in power. The voices on radio are the only ones who are calling them to task, so they want to silence it. It is out and out censorship. If this comes into law, what bean counter is going to sit and make sure that the same number of minutes is used to discuss each viewpoint. It is nuts. Soros will have an army of folks keeping tally and eventually stations will be shut down because they cannot comply. The dems know that liberal radio does not make any money, hence there are no shows. This is their ploy to put radio out of commission period. If they have to put unprofitable shows on just to balance, they will not make any money and go off the air.
I agree with you always hope. Maybe it they push this through, we need to get rid of all the liberal news stations that only give the news with a liberal agenda. Maybe we can force Charlie Gibson to ask the same controversial questions to BO and MO that he did to Palin.
-
Bo is in Chicago so he can take his dear wife to their favorite restaurant for Valetines day. I am sure every restaurant in town is offering them a special deal so they can put up their mug shots. Looked to me like a good excuse to ride AF1 back home for the weekend. He is not even voting "present" this time. He made a big deal about flying down to central IL to talk to all the folks at Caterpillar about their new jobs, then the CEO comes out and says the stimulus will not allow him to rehire for a long time. Another failed attempt by BO to sell his snake oil.
Even the MSM is telling this one:
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/02/doh-caterpillar.html
-
Yes, let's fly AF1 every other day and charge it to the taxpayers and leave a larger carbon footprint. Global warming? Right! We're all over that now, aren't we?
-
I have no problem with the pres taking AF1 anywhere it is necessary, even for a vacation. But what person takes a vacation after 2 weeks on the job. He is like a little boy with his new toy. I can just hear MOO, "when do I get to fly on AF!???" So he takes her on a flight for valentines day and pretends he just has to visit the poor unemployed workers at the caterpillar plant so maybe folks won't notice he is wasting taxpayer money flying around instead of staying in DC and meeting with people to get this bill done. It is funny how someone on his staff leaked that the Cat CEO said he would be able to hire with the new stimulus. They made their boss look like a fool.
-
The Queen of England is a good model to follow -- she and the PM will be sharing a plane. She got rid of her big plane a while back, now they want a small one. For long trips the Prince uses regular airlines, flies 1st Class. For big events, the Queen has had the RAF planes to use. Seems to me we shouldn't be paying for a huge plane -- especially, since alot of the passengers are the press!! Heck, they should stay put and use local reporters to cover him.
6 months ago in the news:
The Sunday Times reports that the Queen of England is in the market for a new plane. No Air-Force-One-sized jet for the Queen though, word from Buckingham Palace is that they are in the market for a small executive plane like a Gulfstream or Learjet. The plane would also be available for use by Gordon Brown and senior ministers.
The plane w ould be paid for by taxpayers and would include the usual private plane bells and whistles such as catering facilities and in-flight entertainment. The Queen had previously been able to use larger planes provided by the RAF. Also in the past, Prince Charles and other royals have chartered planes or flown first class for their royal tours, which they will still have to do for longer trips. The new plane will be best for short jaunts. The prime minister opted against a larger plane for himself and the royals because of the price. A decision on the type of plan and specific purchase details probably won't be available until later this year.
What's particularly interesting about the comments section of the article is that many of those who wrote in believe the Queen (and to some extent Gordon Brown) should have a bigger plane.
-
I saw that news article -- boy did BOBO look like an idiot saying all those folks would get their jobs back and then the CEO says not true -- more layoffs.
-
One thing is for sure............playing a role wether you are pretending to be a Senator or pretending to be a President.............Obama is not doing his job............I find it interesting on some Democrat blogs that the Obama worship continues.............even his own party is complaining that he is not helping them in get some kind of stimulus bill written that will be acceptable to Republicans............flying around and giving speeches that someone else writes and saying things and then the next day or two they are reputed..........(Cat CEO)........this bill does not create jobs.........will it creates gov't jobs but that is not good in helping our recovery....that is just costing us money not MAKING MONEY.............Obama is just a front man for Pelosi and Reid..........he is an empty suit............he may look good and may look Presidential but there is no substance on the inside.....IMO......Shokk
-
you mean...would 'not' be able to hire....I think...
-
Honestly, I think this Rham Emannuel (yes, I don't know how to spell the gentleman's name, sorry) is really the President.
-
Interesting, I thought the Dimocrat view was that EVERY vote should be counted. Some even multiple times. Surely dimwit Franken isn't trying to silence 5000 people from having a voice in their government. Please say it isn't so! LOL
-
I was listening to C-SPAN while getting ready this morning and it is just unbelievable.........I bet you money that almost all the Democrats have no idea what is in that bill..........well except the ones that are on Pelosi and Reids committees..........that met behind closed doors and would not allow the Republicans in and you can still go to Obama's website where he promised on the campaign trail that his presidency would be transparent...........hmmmmmmm.........I guess that would be what the word transparent means.........wonder if anyone is keeping track of how quickly and how many campaign promises are being broken?..........I know there are some conservative hosts that are keeping track.........just not sure they can keep up..........Shokk
-
Hey, Bill Clinton struggled so with the meaning of the word 'is' under oath so I'm sure the word 'transparent' is really giving them a run for their money.
-
When I was in high school I had this fantastic honors American History class that I loved.......anyway we had to do a end of the year paper on someone that made a difference and changed our country in some way..........will anyway I did Abraham Lincoln..........my Dad took me to the SMU law library that had many papers that were written by Lincoln himself and there were even some love letters that Lincoln had written to Mary and some other ladies.....(Lincoln loved the ladies and had many "affairs" during his lifetime...(which at the time was not unusal).....so I did this paper on Lincoln including many quotes and paragraphs that were penned by Lincoln himself.........
First of all Lincoln would definitely be considered a "Racist" by today's standards.........he did not care too much for black folk and would pass on racial jokes to his colleagues on a regular basis........he did hate Slavery but he did not consider this to do with the black man per se........he hated slavery for all races which included Asian, Indian, blacks, whites didn't matter........
I also wrote extensively about one long term affair that Lincoln had with a woman...........including some of their letters...........well I put a lot of time into this paper and we were suppose to read it if front of our class...........I got an A+ but the teacher told me that she didn't want me to read it......ha...........I can just remember smiling........
I need to go to my mom's house and see if she has that paper in my file at home.....I would love to scan it and post it...........hmmmmmmm.........anyway.........Shokk
