Sherri I saw Spector being interviewed on Fox news this morning and the blonde lawyer anchor babe (as Rush would call her) was reading word for word what was in the bill and she asked him point blank if he would support this and he said that even though he DID NOT KNOW it was in the bill he had given his WORD and will vote yes for the bill.......WTH?............he needs to LOSE his job.....any Republican that supports this needs to be voted out of office......period..........Shokk

I watched 2 minutes of Joy Behar gushing about BamBam's great speech last night. I wanted to vomit. People can say all they want that this whole package is the work of Pelosi and Reid, but Bama gave them the green light to do it months ago. Remember how he said he wanted to sign it on day one? He did not count on the GOP getting any kahunas. He figured they would not dare to speak up considering his popularity. Now he is out there selling us all on his snake oil. This bill is nothing more than a plan to socialize America. The only jobs it will encourage are governement jobs, fillied with future dem voters, dependent on the government for every crumb. It ignores business entirely. Since the gov. does not make money, they only spend it, these new jobs will mean tax increases. This will cripple the economy even more and drive up inflation. They are also putting the census in control of the Chicago mob in the WH so they can insure continued dem control as they have done in IL. This is nothing more than a liberal takeover of the country by a despot who has an ego bigger than Texas(no slam to texas intended) and a heart colder than an iceberg. I am worried sick for our country.
-
Susie you and Sherri are scaring the crap out of me................(I am sure that there are some that would like to see that)..........crap did the Senate just pass the bill?.......Idiots........Shokk
-
Vivre.........well I think that it is about time for Rosemary, Paulette and I pick to up our marbles and Texas to secede from the country and go play by ourselves (I did not say go play with ourselves)............so there..........what Texans have giant EGO'S?........Us?..........whatever gave you that idea?
-
I tried Turbo Tax and it's not very good. It's ok if you only have a simple return. But with multiple 1099's, w-2's, kids, houses, etc ... you need a good CPA.
---------
Have to say that yesterday was the most awesome day with dd. We spent her day off just having a real day off with no errands. I made us hot chocolate and we played a board game called Othello, a strategy game. We had a gift certificate for See's Candy and one for On the Border. So we drove over and got our pound of chocolates (only had 2 pieces each, vivre) and a chicken quesadilla to go. It was back to the game while eating our shared lunch. Then a nice little movie called Charlotte's Web ...... even dd said she had such fun not having to do anything besides have fun together! I had forgotten how comfy hot chocolate and rainy days can be!

Can one of your gals and Spouse provide me a link to Obama's stimulus package and what is in it. I can't find the details of the pkg anywhere on the govt site.
Thanks,
Bren
-
Sherri come on down.........there is some great houses for sale and here in the Dallas area you see just as many OU stickers on cars with Texas license plates as you do UT stickers.........Shokk
-
Bren Saluki (Susie) can get you that........she knows all the links........it was posted here a few pages back but not sure where........you might want to pm her.........(Bren is one of my favorite Democrat sisters).......Shokk
-
shokk, I knew you would take that wrong! I did not mean the size of Texas egos, I was referring to the size of the land mass!LOL If you guys decided to cede, I am moving in a heartbeat. Maybe we could get GW to run for Pres! In fact, maybe the whole south should secede! Obama wants to be another Lincoln, well let's see how he likes presiding over a civil war!
-
I've just DH your latest posts re "health"; he's also been watching Geithner say nothing.
DH says: Well, then, I hope they provide for assisted suicide.

Okay, I'm a dufus. I just figured out how to actually insert a link! Wow.
-
That's right! Keep them dependent and they'll love you forever.
-
Daggone you women and maybe one man are chatty. That's a good thing.
I was watching fox when Geithner was "laying out a plan."? What's the plan? Or did I miss something. 'Course Fox cut in and I didn't finish hearing his jabber. What I thought about Geithner...he looked like a robot obot. Man, that man scared me! I thought, OH MY GOSH, we're in for a mess of a time! With Obama not saying anything in his press conference and Geithner coming out looking like he had taken the obot pill and drank too much blue Koolaid..I thought..who's gonna be running this country? Surely not Pelosi and Reid. Where's my "throw-up smiley" when I need him?
And, for the life of me please pray tell WHY Obama is on Fox with is MORE campaigning. Geez. Will he ever give up? He won! You idiot you won and you get to write the bill that you never read. No pork? I should be laughing
cuz that's the biggest joke yet!
-
Sherri...where I am in TX. we are already seeing an influx of furrners (mostly Yankees), the out of state license plates are growing daily. Should we decide to become a separate country I want people to have to apply for citizenship so we can keep out the Medusa's and get rid of the creepies that live here already but make smart a** remarks such as "I just live in TX, I am not from there" need to be booted out with a swift kick in the a**.
So, since BO'S MIL is old I wonder how she will be medically treated, does she need to realize she is old as well and get over it? Hmmmm...and what about that cow Pelosi, isn't she getting up there in age? I guess we were lucky Daschole didn't pay his taxes otherwise we would really be up a creek where medicine is concerned. There is probably a special place for people like him just haven't figured out where it is yet!
And BO...I am betting he hasn't even read the damn package. Love that change pie! Here's to mud in your eye! LOL!
-
Paulette have you ever seen that King of the Hill when Hank Hill finds out he was actually born in NYC........(he was trying to get a Native Texan license plate and had to show his birth certificate)and Dale (his next door neighbor) keeps putting I (heart) NY bumper stickers on his truck and he doesn't realize it.....he is driving down the road and these guys keep passing him and yelling at him to go back to NY.........it is just so funny..........ok that's it........what the Snow Birds giving you guys a hard time down there Paulette?......ha..........Shokk
-
Susie, I heard this on Fox this morning. They were waiting for a call back from Reid and/or Pelosi. They wanted to know HOW this got in the bill. One repub Sen said he didn't know. That the bill was filed at whatever time and then there is this thing. Fox did a great job by digging in and find this.
I also heard about Daschle's book. I guess those who are in Washington will always have medical anything no matter how old they get. Helen Thomas's time is drawing near if her beloved Obama administration gets their way.
I'm against electronic records. I think it moves us closer to socialism. This stuff creeps in very slowly and them WHAM! you wonder what happened. People better need their eyes WIDE open. Can't you see people on disability being denied treatment? Especially as they get a little older.
WE BETTER BE CAREFUL FOR WHAT WE WISH! Cuz we might just get it.
Look at Oregon. A man wanted Chemo. Oregon said he wouldn't live long enough..5 years. I suppose he was asking for Medicaid. Anyway, instead they sent him a letter saying they would offer him a doctor who would ASSIST HIM IN SUICIDE INSTEAD! Fox News found out and the man got chemo instead of suicide. And watch those Oregonians. They want to put GPS on cars to track how many miles one drives. Since cars are using less gasoline or will be using MUCH less gasoline in the future they believe that those who drive more miles should pay more for the fuel. What fuel, I don't know. Anyway, no revenue means not enough $$$$ for roads. So, another way for the government to track us. Now, they'll be some that thinks this is a wonderful idea. They're nuts!
And don't forget. Barry Soetoro hung with the best. They Ayers duo hate capitalism...

Okay Bren,
If you really want word by word to dissect--Here is the site for you.
Just click on the number of the bill.---------The version that actually passed may take a few hours to appear----but the versions that were presented are there. Just click on the bill number highlighted.
Knock your socks off---After looking at that thing I doubt any senator read it in its entirety or really knows all they voted for.................

PS. H.R. 1 - American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
"This is shell legislation for the Senate's version of the economic stimulus package. All legislative action on the stimulus package will take place on the bill that was passed by the House on Jan. 28."
S.1 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
Introduced on January 05, 2009 by the Senate and will probably be posted shortly in detail. -
Shokk...it's not snow birds, if it was I could half way tolerate it, it appears as though people are moving here for work and it is annoying listening to their comments in stores, etc.
Sherri...I lived in OK once and LOVED IT! We were stationed at Ft. Sill, I loved the wide open plains, the thunder storms were out of this world. And we had snow in the winter. I can honestly say OK. was one place I really liked.

Mr. Spouse - Your avatar is awesome... Yes... Audrey... but also... Mia ... Pan Am.... the good old days... you picked a winner...her classic beauty shines through...

I was born in San Antonio, Texas. I need to gather my adult children and baby grandchildren and move my arse back down there. Well, the two in Denver are getting rather liberal. They'll probably be glad to stick the needle to me. LOL
My first onc who I dearly loved moved to Oregon. He was from Canada..got his US citizenship while treating me. He over treated me by having me do 6 months of expensive Xeloda after I finished rads. Already had DD AC/T and mast. I just hope he's not turning into a socialistic doctor. He was such a nice little guy.
-
Sheri, who know if and when (probably when) they use the GPS on every vehicle. I can't see anyone wanting to be tracked by the government. Reminds me of communist Russia!
-
FORGIVE ME for going over there. I couldn't "turn" to the fifth page. They're still talking about bring Pres Bush et al to trial or something. Pres Obama wants to move forward, but some think that will CHANGE (we need CHANGE) because he will be forced into having it investigated. I think I have it right...couldn't read further. Here we're in a pretty bad crisis and they're still worrying about the people who came over to kill our people. Nuff said! Makes me sick.

Here's a good one...yuppers, let's let the rest of those poor mistreated little darlings go free...and I can think of three neighborhoods in particular to let them out in!
Interpol issues alert for 85 terror suspects
PARIS - Interpol put out an international security alert Tuesday for 85 alleged terrorists suspected of plotting attacks against Saudi Arabia in the largest single batch of wanted notices ever sent to police agencies worldwide.
Saudi authorities asked Interpol for help in locating the 83 Saudis and two Yemenis after releasing a new most-wanted list last week. Documents profiling the suspects show that they include a man married to Osama bin Laden's daughter and another who was suspected of involvement in a plot to kill the U.S. ambassador in Yemen.
Interpol, based in Lyon, France, said the men are all wanted on terrorism-related charges, including links to al-Qaida in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
It was the first time the international police agency has issued a single so-called orange notice for so many suspects at once. An orange notice is sent to all of Interpol's 187 member countries and includes identifying details of each suspect to aid in arrests.
Interpol did not release details about the suspects.
Documents profiling the men obtained by The Associated Press in Saudi Arabia show that many are suspected of taking part in planning attacks targeting oil or security installations or provided al-Qaida members with weapons and money. All are believed to be hiding abroad, many in neighboring Yemen.
Saudi authorities believe the men are active members of al-Qaida or local offshoots and are trying to re-establish the terror network in Saudi Arabia after a series of harsh crackdowns in past years. They include 11 who have been released from the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay.
Al-Qaida has not carried out a major attack in Saudi Arabia since February 2006, when suicide bombers tried but failed to attack an oil facility at the Abqaiq complex, the world's largest oil processing facility, in eastern Saudi Arabia.
Interpol Secretary-General Ronald K. Noble said Saudi authorities consider the men "a security concern not only for Saudi Arabia and the entire region but for the world as a whole."
Interpol lists more than 13,000 suspected terrorists in its databases.

Thought this as good. Even got a chuckle out of me.
ARTICULATELY APOLOGETIC WHILE LYING THROUGH HIS TEETH
Barry Obama is on a world-wind poor-man's tour speaking to Americans who view the wealthy
as "fat-cats" and themselves as hurt by the rich, despite the fact the rich sign paychecks
the poor collect. Never fear America, Barry O is sorry he made mistakes, and does not want Americans assuming he is a president who "never recognizes his mistakes." In that case, he should be begging forgiveness for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He supported and helped extort billions out of taxpayers for bad loans to the poor who can't make loan payments. There is no apology for that "mistake." Everything is George W. Bush's fault.
One should expect oh-woe-is-me attitudes in towns named Elkhart, the venue of the first town
hall event, which made its way into Barry O's first press conference on February 9, 2009.
Elkhart, Indiana residents came out to complain about their down-trodden lives. They blame
Republicans. Never mind that Democrats created the banking "crisis" needed in order to win
the presidency. Economic good times don't produce votes for Democrats, poor people with
attitudes do. Democrats need obese, sweat-shirted, negative-minded diabetics to keep them in
high cotton. That is exactly who Obama caters to with his massive stimulus hijack: people
who vote for the guy promising to punish wealthy people.
Obama was confronted by a brave American asking about cabinet choices not paying taxes. The woman was booed by Elkhart's whiners. I assume Elkhart residents believe it is okay for Democrats to break laws. Obama luridly admitted "I was wrong" on cabinet choices, and "some people make mistakes. Tom Daschel made over 100,000 mistakes. If Americans outside the political arena make one mistake on tax returns, they are fined $25,000 dollars-after paying the "mistake." Tom Daschel paid his "mistake" but was not fined. Obama never mentioned that.
That evening Obama gave his first press conference. Elkhart, Indiana was his power point for
crisis: "Elkhart is a place that has lost jobs faster than anywhere else in America. In one
year, the unemployment rate went from 4.7% to 15.3%. Companies that have sustained this
community for years are shedding jobs at an alarming speed, and the people who've lost them
have no idea what to do or who to turn to. They can't pay their bills and they've stopped
spending money. And because they've stopped spending money, more businesses have been forced to lay off more workers. Local TV stations have started running public service announcements that tell people where to find food banks, even as the food banks don't have enough to meet the demand." Elkhart may want to take a trip to inner-U.S. cities. Lyndon Johnson's Great Society, which Obama resurrected today, caused massive job losses when southern blacks were bussed North, placed in public housing, handed welfare for life, causing laziness resulting in crime waves. This destroyed America's cities, factories, and jobs. It did however create Democrat voters. Democrats only worry about voters keeping them in power.
Obama told Elkhart we "are in the most profound economic emergency since the Great
Depression," and things will get worse, because the "deficit...could turn [this] crisis into a
catastrophe." Barry "can't tell you for sure that everything in this plan will work exactly
as we hope, but...failure to act will...deepen this crisis..." Even Saint John wasn't this
apocalyptic.
During the press conference, Obama frightened Americans with numbers: "Last month, our
economy lost 598,000 jobs, which is nearly the equivalent of losing every single job in the
state of Maine...if there's anyone out there who still doesn't believe this constitutes a full-
blown crisis, I suggest speaking to one of the millions of Americans whose lives have been
turned upside down because they don't know where their next paycheck is coming from." When
jobs are lost, people must move on, seek new skills for new innovation; that happened during
World War II and the 1950's, and needs to happen now with China breathing down America's
neck: we need to create newer and better than everyone else, not more welfare.
Do democrats want that? To move toward newer and better means education and skills. That
means low-incomers getting off welfare, into tech schools, minimum wage jobs, and work their
way up as they acquire skills. It does not mean Obama's rebate checks: "We will...provide a
$2,500 tax credit to folks...struggling to pay the cost of their college tuition, and $1000
worth of badly-needed tax relief to working and middle-class families." Rebate is another
term for welfare. Middle-class is another term for low-income minority. Americans receiving
college tuition will be low-income minorities, and no doubt illegals, attending college
funded by tax dollars.
Obama does not want tax breaks, he claims it doesn't solve problems and only the wealthy receive tax breaks. The wealthy pay the majority of taxes, they pay for minorities to live free of charge.
Obama's press conference was nothing more than a rehearsed death sentence to America by the most negative wind-bag since Jimmy Carter. Even Jimmy Carter didn't take ten minutes to
answer each question. Obama appeared unsure of himself. He looked like an arrogant deer in
head-lights answering questions he has no resolution for.
Obama lied when declaring "there is no pork" in this stimulus package. The stimulus plan has more pork than a "Legion" of ten thousand suicidal demon-filled pigs. One plan is for a
Frisbee golf course. Frisbees need to work on their swing. Another plan is a San Francisco
water slide park. Drag queens need some down time fun after desecrating churches. Americans need to ask fundamental questions: what happened to the days when states and local
governments voted for individual projects? Why should 49 states pay for California's pet
projects? Obama said the stimulus includes insulating homes for better energy. Shouldn't individuals insulate their own homes? Are these homes owned by mortgage payers or low-income homes funded by taxpayers? I think we all know the answer.
The press conference was the reenactment of the Great Depression without window-jumping. The only happy person in the room was Helen Thomas. After eight years of having to play by the rules, she finally has another liberal, Muslim-loving, nuke-denying whipping boy to apologize for America being better than everyone else.
Not one reporter brought a printed copy of the pork attached to the stimulus. If George W.
Bush were still in office, the press would have carried printed, leather bound copies with an
appendix. The truth is $850 billion more will not help the U.S. Obama wants to pay off
America's two trillion debts by borrowing one trillion more. Where will that money come
from? Japan is in debt because of stimulus plans. Italy, Germany, and France are in debt,
China is gaining a monopoly on the U.S., borrowing from them would hold the U.S. hostage to a
nation that dislikes us while making the majority of U.S. products.
The answer is tax cuts for every American, tax breaks on corporations to prevent out-
sourcing, vetoing pork earmarks, new, stricter, welfare reform omitting illegal aliens, able-
bodied Americans, walking baby stimulus factories, foreclosing on homes attained via bad
loans, forcing Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Jamie Garelick, Franklin Rein, Maxine Waters, and
President Obama to pay back money received from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, reverse low-
income loan laws with an executive order, and get rid of liberals in both parties.
The Senate passed Barry's stymie plan today. Economic recovery will not happen, bankruptcy
will. This is the restoration of LBJ's America Ronald Reagan fixed with tax cuts and
Republicans forced Bill Clinton to sign onto with welfare reform. That grew America's
economy and sustained us until Democrats used Fannie and Freddie to push us into an economic crisis for White House gain. America needs to give Obama a pink slip in 2012. -
I thought the Newsweek cover was a joke. Just received it in the mail~~this magazine started coming to us shortly before the election, out of the blue. What the??????
We take no other news magazines, and I canceled Washington Post except Sunday~~~could no longer stand the bias.

" To move toward newer and better means education and skills. Shirley, those a great points that no one listens to. It still bothers me that Bush is being blamed for everything. He had an opposing Congress. He couldn't get welfare reform passed if he had tried!!! The Democrats are all about bigger government and more social welfare programs. Just because Bush and friends did make some bad mistakes (imo) doesn't mean the Republican ideals of taking care of yourself, doesn't work.
I think some major reforms are necessary regarding the way Americans invest. There was too much fraud, not enough watchdogs. The housing crisis was not his fault ... strictly put the blame on Carter and Clinton!!!
Suze Ormand was on tv .. she was on NBC ... she is upset because people who are paying their mortgages on houses that are now worth less than purchased it for and have not fallen behind are not being helped by the banks. They asked her what she thought about it and she said the banks should all be forced to modify these loans because people should not throw good money after bad. She said this was not their fault but the lenders who allowed people to purchase homes that didn't qualify for. She said the banks were lending money and saying "you can afford this mortgage" so people took the mortgage ......now, when they lose the house, another loses a house, the whole neighborhood goes ........So here is someone who is not behind, stuck because the banks did this crap. She said those loans should be modified!
Wouldn't that be great if Obamao listened to a real financial advisor?
