Moody, so happy to hear you and Olivia are going home. I bet you can't wait. I'm hoping and praying that Olivia will be able to eat more and more and regain her weight. She's such a precious "young lady." Of course we call them our babies.

A friend of mine has a smal RV. She's only trying to get out of it what she owes. However, recently she hasn't tried to sell it. I know when the gas prices were up no one was interested. And I'm afraid gas prices are rising again. Hopefully not to were they were before. But with the green hoopla I'll just bet they'll raise our gas prices. And I think Pelosi should not have a private jet. Newt Gingrich didn't. And I don't know of any Speakers who had a private jet. Geez, I wish they'd get her outta there. I can't IMAGINE her being the president of the U.S. Oh, crap!
-
Susie, that was funny! ('age 251..from Townhall.com). I'm getting read y to read page 252. And then continue to talk to myself. It's lonely.
As as all those bloody Mary's. I don't drink, but I think I'll start! At least one a night. Is that okay, Vivre?

Rock, is there anything in the current stimulus bill that will directly help the RV industry? I'm curious because while BO was speaking in Elkhart this morning, someone asked what HE can do for them, and he said there is money in the bill to expand their unemployment benefits and lower Cobra premiums. Somehow, I don't see how that is going to create one job. I don't get it at all.
Oh, that reminds me. I heard today that in this STIMULUS bill that if someone wants to QUIT their job and take care of someone sick in their home they could draw unemployment. Don't know how this works. How does that stimulate anything? I can see this being taken advantage of.
Also, while I was watchig C-Span a Senator said that only three tenths of one percent was for small business relief. WTH? Oh, and they had I can't remember how many $$$ for the Pell Grant and, I believe, about six million $$$ going to Special Ed. How's that going to stimulate the economy? Every year the these bills go through the apporpriation committee. The dems just added everything and anything they wanted. What a mess!
No wonder the republicans were upset with this spending bill. Republicans are so much smarter than the demwits.

Have to decide which is better for Madame Frozen Face.

Don't forget -- hotter, too!
(just ask my pillow)
-
Rocky, as it is written.....ANYONE who loses their job can have their Cobra payed 65% by the government...EVEN IF YOU MADE $20,000,000. No oversight. NADA!
-
If everybody is going to change avitars so will I...This is Cam as a Pan Am "Stew" back is the day.
-
I LOVE okra and tomatoes with onions. Used to use a little bacon seasong, but no more.
-
Cam has always been the Supreme Hottie of this group!! Tell her we love her, too!
---
Maria, missing you ... prayers for you and Olivia still going strong from our end.
-
Still hung up on okra........('ceptin' in gumbo!).
That's on the list of foods that Daffodil avoids.
The other one is liver.
The End.
PS: Do we have to watch the press orgy?
-
Went shopping yesterday and realized there is a growing industry right now....."GOING OUT OF BUSINESS" signage! It just keeps getting worser and worser.........(can I be a redneck if there's only one couch on the porch and no car transmission in the bathtub?)
Oh, and I do eat my vegetables: no plain hotdogs for me.........always a CORNdog.
(((HUGS)))

Either that or she's gone and caught Herbie!!

Starla wrote: I read on the democrat thread and there are women over there that are hoping for people to lose their jobs and homes??? I sure don't understand that kind of thinking. Maybe I missed something.
Wow, if that was said then they are really clueless as to what is happening. Many people have worked hard for their homes. Some have lived in them for years. Why would ANYONE want people to lose their job and/or home UNLESS THEY (the one's who wishes for such a thing) don't have a job! That Pi$$es me off! I'm worried about my dd and her family..husband laid of because the banks are giving credit to companies..he was very busy, but company can't get credit = to not being able to pay salaries. So, for now they've worked out that he'll contract for them with lesser pay and more work. He will pay is own freaking taxes AND expenses that Obama's people do not seem to want to do..it's their patriotic duty. And, if that job doesn't last then they'll live off my dd's salary which will barely get them by. However, if they're smart they'll try to save some of it. Wonder if the government would help with their childcare? Nah, they make too much AND are working!
Perhaps it would be nice for those who live in apartments to be booted out. I would say something more, but it would not be nice! I am so PI$$ED! I say women with breast cancer must have loads of empathy. Badboob (Diane) posted on the "bitch" thread that she was trying to get a loan modification and the bank is UPPING their payments $300 a month! WTH? And her dh was laid off work and she's stage IV. I hope she's on disability..she DESERVES it! Nice, really nice.
-
Nope, Shirl...no disability because not enough recent work credits. I was busy raising my kids, coaching, and volunteering when I was dx'ed. Shame on me.
-
Oh, but my kids will draw a monthly check when I'm dead.
-
Sherri, thanks! Is it supposed to be DX or surgery?
-
Badboob, are you saying a corndog is like a veggie burger?
Shirley, you can have that bloody mary, You can have two in fact. Just take out the alcohol and drink the virgin mary and it is really really good for you. And you won't miss the booze! I like the idea of okra and tomatoes. I could have used some tonight. I made peppers and onions and tomatoes. The okra would have been great. Too bad that stuff is so hard to find here.
-
Diane, that's just sad ... I bet you worked for years and years. I have worked since I was 15 years old. Started as a waitress, minimum wage. It was counter service not table service so the tips were all small change ... maybe a few dollars a day ... $10??? Then a pizza parlor after the restaurant closed. Then a dermatologist --- would tick me off because Medi-cal patients could come in for minor acne treatment but my parents couldn't have afforded to send me if I had needed it (although they would have scraped up the money if I had).
The dr treated me for free for the occasional zit ... he would not have it!! His girls had to have perfect skin and the office manager used to weigh us everyday! She'd be in HUGE trouble now. I am 5'10" and I was 114lbs ... she would never allow us to get up to 120. Even moved out of my parents and moved into a room in a house, had to do the housekeeping in exchange for rent, and I went to college.
It's been never ending, but satisfaction in knowing that I have taught my daughter a good work ethic -- and never depend on others to pay your way. You can help others and others will lend a hand but support is not the same as carrying your load.
-
Vivre, I did forget to tell you this --- I bought tons of cauliflower! I also bought lots of frozen brocolli. I am going to make the mashed cauliflower again this week.
-
Rock, in Moody's Avitar, that ain't me....1. I never was that handsome and 2. As big as he looks I will now refer to Karen as Mrs. Moody..and let him know that was Shirley in the tree, not me.
Also, Rock..Your story shows why you are both adamant about your belief that people earn their way, but have a helping hand for those that can't.
My first job was (don't laugh) was a car hop. I was 10 or 11 and wanted to earn money..I talked a lady that had a dairy bar in walking distance to my house into letting me try it. She did not have one, before people pulled up in car and walked to window to order. She agreed to try and paid me 1 dollar a day plus tips. This from 10 am till 10 pm. Tips ranged from 3 cents to 10 cents. It worked so well that she fired me after one month and hired 2 cute teenage girls. I was the first victim of sex discrimination.
-
Shirri,
Make it just like mashed potatos, just don't peel them.
-
Hey IBC, my first job was a car hop too. But I only made 10 cents and hour plus tips. Boy if we got a quarter tip, that was big. Sorry I took your job. But why did they pay you more? Talk about discrimination.
Sherri, just cook the cauliflower and whip it just like mashed potatos-no carbs! I sneaked some cauliflower and broccoli into the guys peppers and sausage tonight. If I cut it up really small they can't pick it out. If I put tomatoes in anything and serve it over pasta they will eat anything!
-
vivre...They paid me "more" because of my math ablities...10 to 10 equals 12 hours ...one dollar divided by 12 equals 8.5 cents an hour.
I noticed the "fake" story of the Gitmo detainee that claims his privates were sliced to torture/ Is going around again. Besides the fact that it has already been proven false...people still say they would be upset if other people treated our son's like that. I guess the Pearl thing or the drag and set fire thing, or the beheading and torture of US soldiers does not qualify. How about this just out this weekend
A video released to media outlets Sunday shows the beheading of Stanczak just minutes after he appears on tape urging the Polish government not to send troops to neighboring Afghanistan.
-
IBC, you got me! I will admit I am mathmatically challenged.
I started a thread to wish our Aussie sisters support with all the fires going on down under. I hope you all will join in.
Is it just me or does it seem like the Obama is hitting the campaign trail again? Why the heck is he going to Indiana in the first place. Isn't that a lot of gas to waste when he could just get his mug on the tube anytime he wants. I think he just likes the perks on AF1. Did he bother to show up in Kentucky when people were hit by a natural disaster? Now we have to listen to him tell us more and more about how bad it is and how much worse it is going to get. He is Jimmy Carter all over again. I think he just loves to read a teleprompter so much he needs a fix. I am so creeped out by this man.
Love it! He is so smoooooth when he reads. The minute he has to answer questions, it is all ums and stutters. Eventually people are going to get sick of it.
The worst crisis since the depresssion???? I guess he was too young to remember the Carter years! He is going to make Carter look like a great president!
-
Make it stop............my ears!........my ears!..........listening to radio not watching TV!!!!!!!!!!...........make it stop............ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh..........Shokk.......the vegatables are screaming and they aren't even being cut!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Wow. This thread is so vibrant. It's amazing how many postings are here in 24 hours.!!!
vivre,
Thanks for the advice, I went to McDonalds and after a nice portion of fries and shake I felt like my old "repug" again
Shokk,
I am glad to see that you're back. But I have to disagree with your statement that it is hard to be a liberal. I think it is much harder to be a conservative. Won't you agree that life is easier if you believe that the government will take care of everything and that our President has the best solutions for whatever problems are facing our nation. While as a conservative you actually look at "stimulus" , analyze it and worry that it will hurt our economy . You look at Obama's foreign policies and worry that they will show us as "weak" to our enemies and therefore might hurt our security.
Oh I should have stayed away from McDonald's and just stick with Koolaid.

I am going to go watch paint dry.
