Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to go!

Hi everyone!
I do need to check in here more often. I'm so sorry to have missed the lunch last month. I'm not available the weekend of th 13th, but should be most any other weekend. But whatever works best for everyone...
Jeanne - I'm sorry to hear about your dad.
Sylvia - what a bummer about your elbow
Lisa - stay strong
I am getting ready for reconstruction on the 24th. I'm both nervous and excited. I'm ready to have the new breast, but am dreading the down time. I already told Rod he'll be doing double duty getting the boys to and from school, sports,etc... during my recovery. We will muddle through as we have before.
I miss you all and I'm truly hoping to get together with you this month!!!!

Hello--went back to work this Mon and doing great----arm is not perfect but I can move my elbow and wrist---so I'm gettin' it done! This month is NOT shaping up well for me at all---think I may have to see y'all in March---something coming up every weekend and I really needing SOME rest time on the weekends too---so plan what is best for all and I'll see if it works for me....
-
LisaSDCA-I think I will bring the boys down on the Saturday of the dog show. You can't beat free for a few hours of entertainment. I don't know how long they will last but I think it will be fun for them. Is there a schedule somewhere to see what dogs will show when?
-
Susan-I am back in the study. I am in the control group so I only have to go to UCSD twice. My healing touch sessions will be after the study is over and I can do them in Encinitas. Have you left for your trip yet?
I can't make the luncheon on the 15th now either.
-
Brenda - great news.
Haven't left yet. Today is my last day at work. Then wednesday, I have my follow up appointment with the onc - I leave on the trip as soon as I leave her office.
-
Happy Last Day at Work, Susan
Congrats on Retirement ...
Wishing you a SPEEDY recovery, Sylvia
If we do lunch on the 22nd, I can only stay for a bit...but that is OK...
How about Mira Mesa...I have to do a show at the museum and be back down here by 2:30...
-
Congrats on your LAST DAY of employment, Susan!
Hope that it turns out you can join us this month, Sylvia... Glad the arm is cooperating.
How many can do the 14th or 21st? I know that Lisa#3 can't do the last weekend cause she'll just be getting out of the hospital!

Brenda, the info page about the breeds and their times is not yet up fully (entries just closed Wed. at noon), but will be at any moment. You can see the breed counts, but not the ring numbers and times yet. There is a smallish entry of Pugs, but as usual, there are large entries of Golden Ret.(88!) Great Danes, and, because it's a Specialty/Supported Entry for the breed - oodles of Rotties! You can read it across as:
21 (total entry) Pembroke Welsh Corgi (Breed) 7-12 (class dogs - class bitches) (1-1) (finished Champions shown in Best of Breed, in this case 1 dog and 1 bitch).

I'm glad you are going too, Jeanne. We'll all have to try to coordinate.

Susan-WooHoo on your last day at work. Did they give you a gold watch LOL.
LisaSDCA-thanks for the info. I will check it out later.
I can do the 14th but not the 21st.
-
Nope - they gave me a glass paperweight engraved with my name. It would make a great blunt weapon ...
-
I can do the 21st, but do what works best for the majority...
-
I can do 14th but not the 21st. Again, do whatever works for the majority.
-
I can do any except the last weekend..
-
I can do any day but the 14th, hubby would die! We have had 58 Valentine Days together and never missed a one.
WOW, I am so old.
Hugs, Shirlann
-
ok--so how about 2/21---could we make off of the 15 by Carmel Mtn Ranch Rd----that isn't quite as far as Mira Mesa?
S
-
oh heck---i just read thru who cannot make it on that day and it seems to be a "no" for a bunch---so we know this weekend is out and that last weekend isn't good either---any ideas?
-
Well, I hate it that Sylvia can't come, how about March 1st?, then we could still do March again, later.
See if this flys.
Hugs, Shirlann
-
Hey Shirl..
Well, you know we are going to have a day when someone can't come
I can't do it on the 1st as I will be out of town that weekend...so that is
OK with me..also I think Lisa #3 can't make it..
What happened to Feb 22nd??
How about at 12:30??
If not someone take pictures on the first...
-
I am in for the 22nd.
-
I can do the 22nd, we can make it at 1:00pm for the church goers.
Hugs, Shirlann
-
But, I can't make it at 1:00
because I have to be back here in Bonita at 2:30
-
I CAN make it the 21-or 22---what I meant to say before was--it seemed like alot could not make it, just in general that feb was a busy time ---and that this weekend is out and so is the last weekend of the month...
So is it a go for Sunday 22nd---and where?
-
Hey - I can do the 22nd, too! I'll just have to drive up to LA right afterward.

Noon or 12:30 works for me. Sylvia, what's tasty near the 15 and Carmel Mtn Ranch? Not familiar with that area.
Lisa
-
I can be there at 12:00. I have been going to first service lately.
Carmel Mtn Ranch and 15
CA Pizza Kitchen
Chevy's
Marie Callendars
Olive Garden (yum)
I know there are more but I forget what they are.
-
hey LisaSDCA - any news? Weren't you supposed to get some results?
I'm sitting here petting the little brown guy. In a half hour I go see the onc & then Florida here I come. Somebody have an extra beer for me at the lunch.
-
Hey Susan - Bon Voyage! It must feel so good!
I did report my results which were not as good as I'd hoped. Here's a post about it: about 1/3 way down the page:
http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/7/topic/701893?page=231:
Any of those options for eats sounds good to me BMD!

LisaSDCA-That link did not work for me. Are you okay?
-
Brenda - Yes, I'm okay. Thanks for asking and telling me about the link. I don't know how to direct someone to a thread, obviously.

I'll just paste it here from the Bitch and Moan thread. For people not familiar with the IOS term = Item Of Suckage. An SOI event is the opposite - Suckage Otherwise Inverted.
****************************************
I've been sulking a bit with an IOS with my re-scan MRI. But the longer I think about it, it's nearly an SOI.
I had hoped my re-scan would show my tumor GONE. I had hoped my MRI would be clear of edema and mass effect. That unfortunately was not what the report said. The tumor is still there. It has had only a "subtle" change in size. The edema is still marked, the mass effect (what it's called when the tumor displaces normal brain tissue) is still present. I have to stay on the damned decadron. I'm still getting daily headaches and my aphasia gets embarrassing pretty regularly.
BUT...
Upon further contemplation, I have decided that it's a GOOD thing that not only is my tumor stable, but it's actually shrunk a tiny bit. There are no new lesions - YAY! I have even been able to cut my decadron dosage by 75% and still maintain reasonable function. I was able to travel across country to visit all sorts of relations (my sister called it my "Farewell Tour" - wise ass) and even survived the requisite 3-hour delay with the airlines. These are things to be thankful for, even if they were not my ideal outcome. I can do more treatments if needed. Heck, II've still got benefits to gain from this first treatment - it's just S L O W.
******************************************************
It took me a while to appreciate the report as a good thing, because I wanted it to be spectacular!
Lisa
-
Well Lisa...glad that it shrunk just a tiny bit and that you could cut down on the decadron quite a bit..I didn't realize you had been on a trip...glad you are safely home..
BMD..which one has the best salads??
12:00 on the 22nd sounds great...
-
K--I'm in for 2/22 at 12:00---I can drive Brenda --if you want?
