Hi Puppy. Nice to see you again.
-
PUPPPPPPPPY!! It is a thrill to see you perched on top of your mountain.
And KimberSIS!! Always good to have a lovely long & newsy post. Hope that you continue to feel better and better each day. How's your sis?? I think of your twinsie often as she goes thru set of challenges.
Norm. Thanks again for taking the time to put up some words. I need to come to your spring sale. We're still on the look out for 'goodies' and the price sure sounds right. LOL!!
Everybody have a great day..................

Do you feel the winds of change? I am so hopeful for this man's presidency...realistic enough to know it will all take time...8 years to make such a huge mess (and yes, I know that the previous years contributed)...but idealistic enough to believe that this man, Obama, is a man of global importance, not just national importance.
Off I go...SIS
PS: Regarding the bi-racial issue. Obama is more than bi-racial as we all are, don't you think? I am American because I was born and raised in America, but I'm English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh on my dad's side, and I'm French, Italian, and German on my mom's side. You're correct that I only pointed out African-American at first, but I then went on to point out his diverse heritage. I can see how that may have looked as if I was neglecting his causasion side.
-
Yes indeed I do feel the winds of change.Quiet a warm and soothing wind it is.Old Neal with his first step for man-kind has finally been out done...........
Congratulations AMERICA,may you go forth with the task at hand with open heart's and minds.May your road be straight and narrow, may you rebuild your GREAT Nation together......I could be wrong but I have a feeling today is just the beginning,in my mind I think it will bring the world together in a way never seen before.God speed my AMERICAN FRIEND"S.

Norm,
I couldn't have said it better myself. Thank you for your words. Are the winds of change also gently blowing in your own life these days? How are you since your decision to stay home? Any plans?
Faith, wasn't the reaction around the globe just inspiring?
Sharon, hope your day was a good one. As I hope for all our AngelWatchers.
Off to a staff meeting this morning. Kimberly

Inspiring. Truly inspiring. Completely inspiring!!
Make it a great day, one and all!!

GOODNIGHT FOLK"S.....................norm

Norm, you express yourself so well with your words. It is a new age in the US and i, for one, am extremely happy for the political change from our election. I spent a lot of my very young life in the 60's doing marches and sit-ins for a few major causes that are still very important to me, and i am over the moon about the election of Barack Obama!! I never thought i would see this day. Now we must all have patience because attempting to fix problems in this country will not be a small task.
Your plans for your "Garage Give-Away" sound like a fine idea. You are such a sharing and compassionate person. I am betting that you will make new friends with this "Give-Away."
Take care and i hope you are still not smoking---such a healthy thing to do. Always good to read one of your posts.
hugs, celia

Celia I can just picture you "back in the day." Our family marched in quite a few civil rights events, when I was pretty young. I can remember quite a range of emotions, including fear, but my dad said it was very important for us to participate -- now I have a greater appreciation for what we did. Pretty amazing to have participated in history, and be here long enough to see this election unfold. I pray daily that he lives thru the term(s) and that a new era of tolerance and respect takes hold.
SHARON: it's your birthday!! Time to party!!

Norm hope that you're making plans for the weekend and have something to look forward to.
It's supposed to finally warm up around here. We've been here for a week, and so far just experienced the great FL FREEZE!!
I plan to ride my bike later this afternoon. Remember, we're supposed to be getting some exercise!!
Angel watchers...... take care.
Puppy, Suz, KimberSIS, Kelley and anyone else reading along...................have a great day.
-
A Garage Give-Away, as in giving away things to people who need them? Brilliant!!! That's what I call Paying it Forward.
Celia and Faith, I want to thank you and your parents for their participation in marching for the causes you believe(d) in during such turbulent times in our country. I was too young to know what was going on, but I know I owe many of my rights as a woman to people like you guys.
Sharon, Happy Birthday!!!!
Puppy, Suz, Kelley, and others who may be reading today....how blessed are we all to live in a world where we can all connect here from all directions because one human being was in need? Or was the universe keenly aware that we were all in need of one another?
Be well my friends. Off to meet some students for an early morning get my act together session.
SIS Kimberly

Thankyou for the birthday wishes. It's been a lovely day.

Forgive the intrusion; I've been a faithful lurker here for some time. I think I've only posted once or twice, though...
As I'm about to sign out of BC.org for what will probably be the last time in a few minutes, I just wanted to thank you all for being such a marvelous light here at BC.Org. I remember reading your first post, Norm. I also remember the amazing support you got from this wonderful circle of women. It has been truly incredible to watch it unfold. Thank you again...
Norm, continued healing to you. Puppy, hope you are feeling a little bit better today than yesterday. Kim, Faith and some of the other "regulars" - your spirit shines through. To everyone else, how awesome that you jumped in to offer well-wishes and support.
Be well, all!
Felicia
-
Norm, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. What a wonderful thing to have a garage giveaway, you may have just started something for the rest of us to get involved in. May your evening be blessed. Sherry

Hello my friends. Sorry for being out of touch.... Yes I have been rediculously busy with the snow, ice and everything that comes with it. Fixing all the breakdowns has been #1 on our priority list, we are almost there.
Needless to say we didnt have much of a Christmas, New Years or a Birthday Celebration (Jan 4) around here. It was work, work and more work. Extremely stressfull but we got through it all with our sanity semi intact. For an area that doesnt really get snow we had 12 major snowstorms back to back with no melt in between. What can I say, we were a bit shell shocked.
I am now into the paperwork end of it all (not my thing) but plowing my way through anyway!
Got a call late yesterday from the cancer agency and they had set me up with a mammo screening today without letting me know in advance.... Well I dealt with it and now will wait 3-4 weeks for the results
Odd as I just had one 3 1/2 month ago.....So Norm, I am so proud of you my friend for kicking the butt habit. More power to you as you conquer each day. Its really great that you are planning a garage sale givaway.... If that is too much for you to go through, I have done the same but different..... Locally I have a place I use that is staffed by all volunteers and all donations are sold at a very minimal price and the proceeds ALL go to our local hospital not to pay wages of staffed thrift shops. I like that as it all goes to a good cause. I do this at least twice a year... its good for my soul (also my clutter
)Im a little behind in reading the posts, I will catch up, but I do think of you all, all the time. Much love, hugs and prayers, Suz
-
(((((Norm)))))
Suz, belated happy b'day. Hope the mammo is ok. And everything else slows down a bit for you to get caught up.
-
a fun time was had by all!!
we got 9 BCO survivors together for lunch........... lots of fun -- lots of chatter!!
thinking of you Norm.
take care.
-
Hugs Norm, hope each day is just a little better
-
Dear Norm, I have been thinking of you and all the people that you show, "We can do it!" With and the way you stay so strong and fight. Thankyou I need that lesson today, I got more battles today, But with you lesson I can keep on keeping on. GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!
-
Hi (((((Norm))))). How are things going for you?
-
Norm: it's the weekend!! What ya got up your sleeve?
It's finally expected to be warm in FL this weekend -- it took the whole first week of our stay to get that way. Better late than never.
So I have big plans for bike riding..... gotta burn those stubborn calories.
Next week will be enormous for me.
I fly to Wichita, from there to Dallas and then on to Houston before being returned to OH.
So don't know how much I'll be checking in. Just wanted to give you the head's up so you can send me some happy-flying-thru-the-skies vibes!!
Take care. Check in when the mood strikes ya.
-
Hi Norm,
Hope all is well w/ you. The FREE garage sale sounds great and I am sure you will be the most popular person on your block. Hope you are still smoke free, I am. Have a great weekend. You are in my thoughts and prayers. (((((HUGS)))))
Cheryl
-
Cheryl: CONGRATS on staying smoke-free!! I'm so proud of you!! Miss you at the beach.
Night Norm.
-
(((((Norm))))) I wish I was closer so I could go to your sale. Free stuff is a great idea and you could have a container for donations for those who felt they wanted to pay. Donate it to the local food bank or snowsuit fund or whatever.

Good Sunday morning gang,
Yesty, Greg and I went to Sonoma, in the Napa Valley, to pick up a large print photo we purchased from a gal we had bought two other prints from years ago at a street faire in Sausalito. She travels to mostly Asian, African, and Middle Eastern areas, and focuses on the local people. We fell in love with two immediately. They were of Tuareg. At the time, we paid $50 each for unframed 8x10s. The colors are so vivid…oranges of the sands, blues of the headscarves, and faces that are so expressive and beautiful. Anyway, this is a 16x20 of the dunes and a nomadic tribe. You see mostly the orange dunes, and then the line of camels and people walking along some invisible trail with specks of bright blue. It’s breathtaking…well at least to us. Lisa has a gallery now in Sonoma, so this print wasn’t a mere $50, but she did sign it, and to us it was worth it. Doing our part to stimulate the economy, right? LOL
Afterwards, we visited a unique little artists village and had lunch, then drove home.
It was a nice day. Cold and rainy, but nice to get out of town.Felicia, I know you won't be reading this, but I appreciate your stopping by to say goodbye, thank us, and wish us all well. I wish you the very best as you move on with your life.
Suz, welcome back. Geez, you have been a busy girl with all the winter happenings. Glad you've gotten a breather.
Sherry, Sharon, Faith, Deb, and Cheryl - Howdy all. I am with you in wondering how Norm's Garage Giveaway went and wondering if he's still smoke free. It's such a hard habit to break, I hear, so would understand if there have been a few slips here and there. Cheryl and Kelley would understand that since they too are quitting the butt habit.
Faith, thinking of us as you travel.
Puppy and Kelley (((((HUGS))))) for you.
Norm, so, how about an update...
Hope to check in this week like I did last. We shall see.
SIS Kimberly…I am going to do my homework now. -
