A friend of mind did have mental problems

My sister did have issues with emotional problems

You all know how hard it is to get good psycological help

I do have problems with the idea you can insult a 100 million people in the south half of out country, but to respond with the pride of country or region or state that you live, is wrong.

sherri, the same place the outrage is over how much was spent on the whole inaugeration festivities.  remember how bush was attacked over his cost which was a fraction of what was spent today.  double standard again....just wondering.

Where do I begin...a double standard for sure.  $150,000,000 for these festivities while in the meantime my little state of RI is barely keeping it's head above water.  And the speech by that lovely minister.....could you have segregated people any more...yellow, brown, white, etc.  Geez!  And I was just horrified by the class-less people in this crowd, who decided on this self-proclaimed momentous, happy, historical, joyous and almost holy day, to boo George Bush, Laura Bush and the Cheney's.  These are the people who have spent countless sleepless nights (with the knowledge of all of the evil in this world) worrying about how to keep us safe.  The fact that this man, don't forget, he is just a man people, is being seen as a rockstar, a messiah, is very disturbing.  It is only a matter of time until the people of this country and the world are going to realize that he will not be able to follow through with all of his promises.  His honeymoon with the press will also be short-lived.....can't sell papers with sunshine and rainbows.  With that said...phew...this man is my President and I will encourage and support him.  After all, at the end of the day, my interests lie in what is best for our country!  Sorry for the novel!!!!!!!!

Jadai, I have no idea where you have been, but you put into words what I have been thinking all day.

Sherri, we have been through this. I promised not to brag any more about the fact that I lost 40 pound since my dx and now wear size 6 jeans. It's all that good eating. Now my new project is someone else whom we are all very fond of here. It is all about good health. Vivre-to live!

    Oh, never mind...40 pounds from me would be like taking one snowflake from your yard last week. Happy, todays menus;

I whole wheat toast with a dollop of butter.  one scrambled egg.

Lunch, portion of veal, steamed medley of squash green beans and carrots. with boiled okra on side

Supper not so good, slice of smoked ham very lean, and two scramble eggs

eight non filter camel cigarettes and 3 cups of coffee

Unless I am sitting in the Cafe du Monde. the coffee will always be black.  Damn, now I want an order of beignets, make that two orders.

IBC- Those beignets are not allowed. They are deadly! I was lucky that the Cafe Du Monde had a fire and was closed when we were in N'awlins. You need a detox. That means two weeks of nothing but fruits, veggies and whole grains. Go Cold Turkey! No sugar, no flour, no caffeine and NO CANCER STICKS! Every day you need a long walk in nature taking in lots of fresh air. Then you need a little weight lifting to get the metabolism turned up. In two weeks, you will feel so great, all your cravings will be gone and you will never look back. At least this is what happened to me. I could never stick to a diet my whole life. But when I committed to my health and stopped fretting about my weight, the pounds melted off. I just started eating like my life depended on it because IT DOES! You can do it, believe me. Just make sure when you are losing, you do not lose that wonderful sense of humor! Now make the committment!

"Ginger Rogers does everything that Fred Astair does but backwards and in high heels" how many times stolen, It has been attributed to Ann Richerson of Texas, to Ginger herself, but it was originally a frank and ernest cartoon in 1982.  So if you gonna still a line, still it from a thief.

    Vi

I have gone from two packs a day down to usually two cigs a day.  They are smoked well away from Cam, because she use to smoke and quit.  I do that though, stop the puf puf, but we have a serious problem with the caffeine thing...I begin each day with a quad espresso, no cream no sugar, just super strong espresso.  then maybe 2 more during day.  that is part of the natural food chain... only good can come form coffee, I even drink only water or very little zero sprite ,  Do hot green tea one a day.

IBC, This is your life coach. You can have a little caffeine in a couple of weeks, in the meantime remember it is COLD TURKEY. And No soda! Sparkling mineral water with lemon or lime tastes really refreshing. Have at least 6 cups of HERB decaf tea a day. Green tea will actually speed up weight loss. You will get  a headache for a couple of days. That is your body detoxing. You will feel so good in two weeks, you will be kicking yourself for not starting earlier. Think of this as your incentive: You know all too well how terrible this has been for you, watching what Cam has had to endure. Now that you have gotten her on the right path, do you really want her to have to go through all this with YOU? I thought you needed some tough love. Hope you pay attention.

Rock, you are invited to Spa Vivre any time. I have the most incredible air bath tub. I also have lots of workout stuff, so if you come, do not expect to be sitting on your butt. It will be a 4 mile brisk walk along the river with me every day. If you wait til spring, then you will have to do the 15 mile bike ride through the forest preserve. But at least there are no hills here!

Viv...I second that and hope they had a grand time in Midland amongst friends and family and am happy they don't have to hear and see the booing and backturning by people who claim tolerance, keyword being claim! I am also happy they can wake up this morning and be like normal people.

Well, I think I will go volunteer today! Yup, I am going to volunteer at REPUBLICAN headquarters so we don't make the same damn mistake in 2012! How's that for community spirit?

Anyone who thinks Fox news is biased has not been watching the love fest they have been putting on the past few days. I just hope they stop the fawning and return to reporting soon. I am getting overdosed!

IBC-This is your drill sargeant sounding revele! Up and at em! I know you can do boot camp again. You got through it before. Today is the beginning of a new Healthier day. Now skip that coffee, have a cup of green tea and some oatmeal, no sugar, and then get out and do a couple of miles in the fresh air. No excuses, HUP TWO THREE FOUR!

And remember, you will  thank me for this someday.

C'mon Moody. Where are you? Two drill sargeants are better than one. Let's whip this guy into shape, for Cam!

here i go again being disrespectful (i'm so so ashamed) BUT does moo smile?  she's sitting at the national prayer breakfast looking like she doesn't want to be there or is pissed about something.  i don't want to offend our  moody, but if she doesn't brighten up i'll have to start calling her moody.  i sure hope she's proud of her country now.

visiting nurse just left...took liver profile blood work.  can't start chemo again till enyzmes are back to normal.  more concerned about onc visit this afternoon to get the "plan".  this may sound trivial but losing hair a second time around perhaps for good if i'm on chemo for the duration, really has me down.Cry

Really, I have just about gotten to the point that I don't mind who the President is as long as they can fix the economy and do something about health care.  Those are my two big things that I would like to see addressed at this point.  So, I will pray daily for Mr. Obama's success as our President.  I hope this doesn't offend as it wasn't intended too.  Please, let's move away from employer provided health care that keeps people chained to horrible, stressful jobs.

Always...totally agree on the health care issue, I would like to see AFFORDABLE and I mean AFFORDABLE insurance for everyone in all walks of life. I don't want affordable based on government statistics on what they think affordable means based on their version of what percentage of your income should be available for health insurance because it is usually not reliable much less is it reasonable. I would also like to see health care addressed in a manner that makes all treatment options available to all citizens and not based on who you are, who you know, what your job is or pre existing health conditions.

Maria, it doesn't sound trivial at all!

If your onc is aware that losing your hair is a significant QOL issue for you, he/she may be able to find another option that won't cause that side effect, and may not even consider that issue unless you speak up.  You're looking at trying a treatment (out of a number of possible choices) that may or may not work for you, and that is a very different thing than trading your hair for a definitive cure, so make sure your onc exhausts all the possibilities with the side effects that you find less devastating first.

FIRST OF ALL SINCE I'M LIMITED TO FIVE POSTS A DAY...

MARIA...{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}  Sweetie, I hope your visit goes well with the onc.  I hope they don't use a chemo that makes your hair fall out.  I hate cancer.  Isn't it funny how people like you who are suffering with this dreaded disease still cares about what's happening in this world.

IBC, why was your post removed.  If it's the one I read yesterday I didn't see anything wrong with it.  If I remember correctly you were commenting about posting over there...I wish you'd PM me and enlighten me.  You see, I took in too much of the festivities yesterday and it was awfully STRESSFUL!  I had high hopes that I'd actually HEAR SOMETHING and heard nothing.  I feel let down.  All the hoopla and I feel let down..yes I know I repeated myself, but if PO can so can I and I ain't dancing backwards in high heels ANYMORE or I'd fall on my butt.  ALSO IBC, do NOT..REPEAT..DO NOT do what Vivre is saying.  You'll have a freaking heart attack!  LOL  I've heard coffee IS good for you.

You know what is not mentioned...Africans were sold by their very own people.  That does not excuse this NATION for the treating these human beings LESS THAN humans.  But I/WE cannot be held accountable for the actions of others.  Remember Lincoln?  He was very unpopular and hated and he freed the slaves.  I cannot be help responsible for how African Americans were treated prior to civil rights and even after.  I was too young.  I remember the riots..were they in Boston...when bussing started.  We didn't have segregated schools in San Antonio, Texas, so I didn't understand all of this.  Yes, I was a teen but was in my own little bubble.  And I can't be held responsible for how African Americans are treated by ANYONE.  I can only be held accountable for HOW I treat African Americans and any human being on this earth.  So, I don't want to be blamed for all the mean behavior by some.

I DIDN'T TURN MY BACK ON PO AND FLMO yesterday.  I didn't sit on my couch booing them. I AM A MUCH BETTER PERSON THAN THAT ALTHOUGH I don't have "higher" education...doesn't that mean college..LOL  I don't need an education to know how to treat people.  However, according to what happened yesterday to the Bushes and the Cheneys many people need to be educated on civility and kindness and respect.  And Aretha messed up the song.  She should have sang..R-E-S-P-E-C-T.  I'm tired of it being insinutated by some on this forum that some of us are racist and don't realize it and we're dangerous.  Seems like those post should have been deleted long ago.  Hey, but leave the posts so people can see the hatred and double talk.  Shoot, I'll probably be banned.  I'm keeping this post for evidence.  LOL

PAULETTE, I watched President Bush (hey, they call all over former presidents..President So-in-So) in Midland yesterday.  Now that grabbed my heart.  I was mad at Fox cuz they didn't show the last part of his speech.  Even my friend who has been mad at President Bush was enjoying his speech.  He has the best sense of humor.  She was mad at Fox too.  So, I will follow your link.

I loved Pastor Warren's prayer.  It inspired me.  I didn't hear the prayer from the last man.  Is it somewhere where I can watch it or read it?

And, to end this post...I will support our new President IF I feel his policies are the same view as mine.  I will never support late term abortion.  I will not support the dems if they decide to push this idiotic investigation of President Bush and his administration.  It's hatefilled and spiteful and full of revenge they did nothing illegal.  That's how much hate is out there against our former president who kept us save for all these years.  President Obama said he wanted to move FORWARD.

Now, I shall continue doing what I wasn't doing...LOL  I feel let down.

    Shirley

BTW, IBC, one of my dd's is a REAL Life Coach if you need her...LOL

Man, miss one day of reading here and I am 5 pages behind.  Geesh!!!

First:  What on earth did ibcspouse say that would cause the "community" to delete it??????

Second:  I did watch the inauguration yesterday and even got goose pimply when Obama was being sworn it, cuz like him or hate him, it was a historical day and I think it is pretty cool.

Third:  Am I the only one who was offended by Joseph Lowery's speech/prayer, whatever it was?  I was liking all the rhyming words with the different colors, up unitl he got to "white" when he said "....white man can embrace what's right......."  Perhaps I took it wrong or misunderstood, but I took it as white people don't do the right thing, and now maybe we can!!!!!!!!  I dont care what he meant, that is how I took it.  Can you imagine the "hoopla" if Rick Warren had said "the black man can embrace what's right"?!?!?!?!  Ticked me off.

I heard someone say that Obama told his girls that once they got to the White House, he was gonna "let em go" so they could explore all the secret tunnels.  I got a vision of one of them crawling through a ventilation system with a big ole secret service guy just trying to keep up.  LOL  I bet they will have a BLAST getting to explore all that!
