Hey, Everyone just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Mom is doing good, she continues to do chemo every 3 weeks, so we cant complain right now. Just thanking god she is doing ok inspite of everything she has gone through in the last few months. Her tumor markers continue to drop which is a good sign the chemo is responding. I hope everyone is doing well.
Sharray, Welcome! The ladies here are a great support.
Felicia hope all is well with you. Sharon glad to hear you are feeling ok. Poolas countdown for completion of rads is on! Trumpet hope all is well with you!
Love you all
Crystal

Thanks, Felicia, ...gurl..I am just so excited and happy right now. It's hard to believe now, that I was so worried, and I hope this helps someone one else. There is life after BC!! A beautiful one 1, if you vow not to quit and let things keep you down. Also--Prayer changes things... Hope you r doing well. Keep up the fight!!

Praise God...I made it...I am a one year survivor. I was so excited when I woke up this morning. Today I also had my first mamogram since my dx. Everything looks great they said. I felt good sitting in the waiting room with the other women waiting for our turn and the ones who had bc we all shared our stories as the ones who were there just to get yearly mamos chimned in with questions and concerns. We all wished each other lucks as each ones name was called to go back and cheered when one came back and said all clear. What a sister hood I felt. Feeling somewhat alone because sometimes I feel no one understand how important this cause is to me and they displace it as oh the bc thing again (I know it's hard to understand things unless you have gone through it) but I was hoping that atleast one friend called me today and said hey gurl congrats. Wish ful thinking. I was happy for that moment at the doctors because I knew atleast they understood what today ment to me. Yesterday I spent 4 lunch hours at the high school with my teen girl group (Smart Girls) through the Boys and Girls club. We passed out flyers to encourage students to where pink to school today in honor of breast cancer awareness month and my cancerversary. The health dept had given me 400 pink ribbon pins and some brochures on womens and girls health to pass out too. It was amazing how many students came to our booth. We asked them if they didn't wear pink atleast wear the pin. My daughter came home from school today and said that the students really participated. She was excited to be apart of the event and to see the outcome of support. They got over 90 signatures of some of the ones who wore pink and others just had on the pins. I even bought me cake and ice cream to indulge on. (had to have an excuse to get my junk food on). Well as I go and indulge on another piece of cake and orange sherbert ice cream I just want all of you to know how thankful I am to all of you and know that I pray for you, you pray for me, I love you, I need you to survive.
God Bless and keep you all

Congrats Sabrina!!! Hallelujah!
Hi everybody!! Sorry I have been out of the loop lately; went back to work
and I don't know if I was quite ready to jump back in so soon. All is going well; just plain tired all the time, and I really need to find time to work out. But, God is good and continues to bless me to see another day!
Blessings to all!!

Hey, Sabrina,
I'm tossing some confetti in the air and high-fiving my computer screen for you! BTW, my four-year anniversary was Saturday...
Trumpet, take car of yourself, girl! Working out - or even walking at lunchtime - may make you actually feel less tired. I know it is hard to fit in, though. Hang in there.
-
Congratulations Sabrina and Felicia!!!!
Hey Trumpet! How are you doing?
Well I had my 5th rads tx today and I am counting down. Thirty more to go!! I can't wait to be through!! I still have to do herceptin but that's every 3 wks so I can handle that; I'm just glad to hear all the positivity here. Go Ladies!!

Hi everybody. I haven't been here in a while. I didn't want to taint this thread with scary met stuff. Anyway, please keep me and my son's in your prayers. I'm fighting for life and God is able, stephanie
-
Stephanie, don't you know that you are our sister? If you ever need anything, please don't stay away! We will always be here for you! We love you girl and will be praying for you and your family!
I will be going for my three month check-up next week and today was the last day of radiation for me. I am so glad to be finished I don't know what to do. Now if I can get finished with this semester of school I'll be alright.
How is everyone else doing? I hope all is well. Yogi, you'll be suprised how fast tx goes. Sabrina, you go girl!!! Congrats on your one year anniversary. I totally forgot mine. As far as working out, I'm thinking about buying an elliptical machine. There aren't any gyms near me and it's getting cold out and I don't do cold! I'm ready to get my sexy back!!!
Well, ladies I have to go. Take care and don't be a stranger!

Hello Everyone:
I just wanted to stop in to say hello and let you know that even though I have not visited in some time I think of you often.
Not a day goes by that I am not aware of my journey. I have to say my recurrence really took a lot out of me so I really try to focus on other things. Case in point, this summer I became a mom to a 2 year old girl. Now I have two children under 5 and I am questioning my sanity.
Most days I am exhausted and my chest still tightens up really bad but I am okay as long as I exercise which I struggle to find the time for.
I really hope everyone is doing okay and staying strong. I will stop in when I can if for no other reason than to let you know I am thinking of you.
Take Care,
D

Hi everyone...Especially Jodi and Felicia, What's up gurlie's? Well I am going for my nipple reconstruction on December 3rd. They also want to touch up some cosmetics on my abdomen, where the stitches start and stop but it looks fine to me already...better than expected anyway!
Sorry I've been so busy, but remember that old flame I told you about...Well we got married on October 17th! So I haven't had time to do a lot of things lately. But I haven't forgotten about any of my new friends...never think that for a minute.
Wishing everyone the best. Sharray
-
Sharry - congratulations to you on your nuptuals, girl! How exciting!! I'm happy for you!
December 3 is right around the corner. All the best with your new nips (what a strange thing to type to someone I barely know, lol)...
-
Congrats Sharry on your wedding October 17 is also my birthday.
Any who what a weekend I had. Oh by the way hello everyone. I wrote earlier about how I was selected for a scholarship to attend the Life in balance Breast Cancer Forum sponsored by the Y-Me (Network of Strength foundation). What an awesome time we had. They really rolled out the red carpet for us. It started on Thursday and ended Saturday afternoon. All I can say is AWESOME...The forum was in Chicago at the Chicago Hilton hotel located on the Magnificant Mile. OH did I mention while we were there our new president Barack Obama was there also. Didn't get to see him though. We had breakfast Saturday morning with Robin Roberts of GMA. She is an awesome women of color. Beautiful outside as well as inside. She shared her journey with us and even shed some tears. There was so many beautiful AA women there as well as other nationalities but it was one big sisterhood. There was a food show, fashion show, makeovers, massages and the food was awesome. I was supposed to share a room with another scholarship recipient but somehow I had gotten placed in my own suite. King bed with two full baths, mini bar, roomservice. Who'd of thought lil ole me. God is good. What a blessing. I met some wonderful women that I will never forget. Can't wait til the next one. I had recently put a relaxer in my hair but after seeing so many of my sisters sporting their natural hair so beautifully I am ready to cut this stuff off and start over again with my natural hair. So many were sharing there stories, journeys, hopes and fears and alot sounded just like mine. They are all survivors.
God bless you all, you are all in my prayers,
