Rocktobermom:  Great story about T and the two mommies.....  I also think you handled the "wig" issue beautifully....Kids learn lessons from adults.....the fact that you didn't make a big deal out of it and let them feel your bald head is priceless.....

Wish Sarah Palin would go away.  Been reading this AM about her Sarah-centric disappointment at not getting to make her own concession speech, her $150,000 shopping spree, she thinks Africa was a country, her gaffes behind the scenes during the campaign, her Sarahcentric(a term SHE coined)-thinking and interviews since the election.     She thinks the presidential campaign was all about getting her ready for 2012...OMG!!!  When will it go away?   She just doesn't get it!!!

On another front....a more serious front, we're really worried here in Michigan about what's going to happen next.  The latest is that GM is about to go under and the gov't is considering another billion dollar bail out.  I worry that this is throwing good money after bad, but on the other hand,  it is terrifying to think what will happen to this state if there are more business failures.  It's already pretty bad and pretty sad here. So many foreclosures. Stores and restaurants going out of business left and right, even my favorite resale shop. We've lost several hundreds of thousands on our house in the past year..

Linora:  The more Sarah Palin tries to defend herself, the worse it gets.  She nees to just be quiet for awhile. I don't think she is endearing anyone to her cause at this point.  One thing about the clothes though.....the donating to charity part...I assume they mean maybe they would "sell them" and donate the proceeds to charity, right?  I mean, it's not likely you'de see a $2500 Valentino jacket on the rack at the Goodwill outlet...

The latest I heard is that two men were sent to Alaska to repossess the clothes and return them to the stores..she's utterly shameless!

Folks, I will have to keep creating new Ids to post here. Some whining women from the Republican thread keep complaining to the moderators, having my id's terminated, but screw the moderators, I will continue to post as often as I choose. There are an infinite number of Blaests available. Its sad that the moderators have that Gestopo mentality and I challenge them to take me on in court if they think they have a leg to stand on. They know who I am and they can have me served at my local address. My defense is I am simply expressing my opinion in a respectful way, a right given to me by our Constitution. I need not keep quiet about what I think because I might hurt the sensibilities of some of those on the far right. So have at it moderators

I have to hustle to work, but I just wanted to say, Rocktobermom, you really do ROCK!  The way you handled the hair situation was great.  But, more than that, I'm so impressed that you could do a flip!

Too late, Roctober, you've posted here one time too many and now you've got the DEM/LIB COOTIES! Is your chair starting to point to the left yet? Wink

Touching story about your daughter and the jumper - truly giving new meaning to the term "flipping your wig." Can you teach us all how to do a flip?

Blaest, me thinks it's time to PM the moderators and plead your case...

Felecia, I have tried reasoning with the moderators before.  Its useless.   They give no warnings, no explanations for their actions.  Somebody whines to them and they act.  Therefore, they too no longer exist for me.

I can't believe that they would delete you based on the whining!  I was threatened too, in the midst of our election..oh for saying I believe that Palin will be on the cover of Play Boy.  Nothing ever came of it, but give me a break!  The repubs want to whine about their guns, but deny us the right of freedom of speech????  Let's get it together people!

I think they are better whiners on the Republican thread than on this thread.  Face it, that's what some of them do best.  Whining and insulting those who don't think like them is their modus-operandi..  They whine about gays, abortions, atheists, guns, everything under the sun and insult everybody under the sun for not being what they want everybody else to be.  They have lots of experience doing so.  They did whine about my posts and the moderators, without warning or explanation terminated my authorizations to post.  And I do believe many of them are inherently racist, especially the very religious among them, and others are some of the most mean-spirited people you will meet anywhere.  But nonetheless, I will  continue to regeister and reregister and post as I choose when I have the time to do so.  I will no longer pay any heed to the moderators because they do not do their job in an even-handed, reasonable or rational manner.  That's simply my opinion.

That reminds me of my neighbor's boy, who was about 4 when I had chemo. I shaved my head before chemo and went over to show her. The kid answers the door and I asked if his mom was there and he ran from the door screaming, "Moooooooooooooooooooooooomm Amy's bald." I never had a wig, I just went naked and I tattooed my head. In Target when I was shopping kids always looked at me and their mothers told them not to stare. I would kneel down and ask them if they wanted to touch me head.

I just have to say what a refreshing change president elect Obama brings! What a breath of fresh air for this country he will bring. I just know that how the world views us changed with this election. I remember when Bush "stole" the election from Gore and 4 years later I was disapointed yet again when Kerry lost his fight. I remember being so depressed and disapointed at how America could be dumb enough to elect Bush AGAIN!! Well now I feel like the last 8 years of torture have all been worth the wait. If we had to go through George Bush to get a leader as hopeful and inspiring as Obama then it was worth it. I would do it all over again,(YUCK, parrish the thought), but if it meant we would end up with greatness then so be it! This election has not only inspired the US but the world as well. And for that I am truly greatful.

Madalyn, yes its a breast cancer support board, but it is a political thread totally removed from breast cancer issues.  Anyway, you're right that there's not much point posting there on that thread anymore.  Its impossible to have an intelligent conversation with any of them.  If you aren't one of them you are simply trouble in their eyes.  So I am pretty much done over there.  Thing is, its not so much fun to talk about things with people who agree with you because there is not a lot of give and take.

I loved that video!!!!!  Wow...to think....this is what they tried to pass off as VP material. OK!  Tracy..I am SO happy about Barack too!!!!  However, I have to go with Madalyn and say..no..no more Bush years!!!!  But I do get the point of how awful things were, and now we can see the light!!!    Blaest12...you're expecting to get an intelligent debate going with them.  That is obviously not happening.  And right, you won't get much of a debate here as we are all Obama/Binden supporters.  I for one stand behind him all the way.  So, maybe try the link that Madalyn has for debating.  But I think we are always open to news here, just not Obama bashing when you have nothing to back it up with.

I haven't this kind of hope or optimism about the country and my rights in 8 years. I wouldn't feel this way with just any democrat, Obama is the person who can make things happen.

I disagree Madyln- people have free choice whether to participate in any or all threads. There's nothing wrong with political debate on a breast cancer board, if people think there is, they should avoid such threads.

g's right about expecting intelligent conversation-- republicans made a campaign about looking down on educated, intelligent folks in favor of "I can see russia from Alaska." There are exceptions of course, but I think we  leftist "elitists" place more value on science and facts than many on the ----->. I avoid certain names because I don't want to spend my listening to people who make no sense and aren't interest in widen their knowledge base. We try to keep this thread free of hate and ignorance and do more discussing than debating.

Please dont get me wrong. I would rather pull out my eye lashes 1 by 1 than to go through another 8 years of Bush. But what I was trying to say is that if that is what it took to bring us to Obama than I must say I would do it again because I am just that confident in his abilities to drive this country in a new direction. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, CHANGE HAS COME!!! Best wishes to everyone!!Kiss

That Daily Show video is hilarious.  I especially loved the current mayor of Wasilla's description of her typical work week: "On Mondays we have a staff meeting.  On Thursdays, I sign all the checks.  Ah, hmmm. . . ."   Yeah, she's totally VP material!

Speaking of Wasilla . . .  So now, not only is Palin hoping to get a message from God to run for the Senate, but she's still ranting about Ayers:

Well, I still am concerned about that association with Bill Ayers. And if anybody still wants to talk about it, I will, because this is an unrepentant domestic terrorist who had campaigned to blow up, to destroy our Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol. That's an association that still bothers me.

You, Sarah Palin, still bother me.  Won't you please put a stopper in it already?  Well, at least Stevens is currently behind in the count, so maybe her plans to run for the Senate will be thwarted.

And what about Lieberman?  I say strip him of his current committee chairmanships.  The Dems don't need him, and if he's not going to be a reliable ally, why have him heading up those sensitive committees?

Blaest, another option would be to start a nonpartisan political thread.  Or if there's a specific topic you're interested in debating, you could start one for that.  We've had other threads like that in the past.  The "party/candidate" threads really are partisan, and since people tend to view their candidates and party like family, feelings are easily ruffled.  And feathers fly.  The topical threads are usually less contentious I've found.

Blaest, just an FYI, when you are a new member of this board you are limited to 5 posts a day until you are a member either for a certain amount of posts or certain amount of days.  No one is attacking or canceling you.  We had alot of spammers on this board and when they put that policy in place it helped stop alot of nasty and unnecessary things showing up on our breast cancer support board.

If you log in under your first ID you will probably see you can post again under it once 24 hours have past.

I watched the news last night and so far, I think Obama is doing great.  He is being respectful to Bush and his last days as the giddy up President.  My DH and I fight over what news channel we want to watch.  He wants Fox - gag me, I want MSNBC, and we settle for CNN!

I haven't had much time to read or post, but I wanted to make one point.  This is all about Breast Cancer.  Had I not been diagnosed, I would not be here.  My decisions for Obama were based on many things, but for me the most important was insurance.  Not allowed breast cancer patients to be given no hope for care because of pre-existing conditions.

I also think having these political threads are great as they get our minds off breast cancer.  Yes I think we all get a little emotional - because we have a passion for what we believe in.  With that being said, I think its ashame there is an intruder purposely trying to sabotage these boards.  I stand strong by our moderators and I'm thankful they are here to weed out unwelcomed trolls who only want to cause trouble where there is none.

Looking forward to another new day with Obama close to having the reins!

Thank you Luann, but my original Blaest IDs have all been terminated, without warning or explanation by the moderators.  There have been people here who complained about my, I suppose, vicious, disrespectful political posts and the moderators acted as they chose. I just don't don't have a lot of respect for them because of it.

I think its ashame there is an intruder purposely trying to sabotage these boards.  I stand strong by our moderators and I'm thankful they are here to weed out unwelcomed trolls who only want to cause trouble where there is none

That's a croc chomosabe.  I first came to these boards because my wife had breast cancer.  I then stuck around these boards to offer advice where I could on insurance issues, and then to warn people away from scams and hoaxes like the Hoxsie Cure, doing the little bit I could to actually try to help, and all of sudden I was viciously attacked, unwarrantedly imho, by some small minded, classless women who thought I had no right to offer the opinions I did.  Regardless, I find politics interesting and like some of you have strong opinions.  Wanting to cause trouble?  Holy cow, I cause far less trouble than some of the mean spirited people who posts under these threads who take everything personally, and who think nothing of maligning, insulting and castigating other people.  I'll be perfectly honest.  I have been overwhelmed by the strenghth of most of the women on these boards and the hope and support they offer to others.  But I have been absolutely shocked by a very small minority of women here who are so obviously so small-minded, provincial, and bitter.  We all have our problems, we all are terminal in the long run, and we should all attempt to live our lives with dignity and respect for our fellow man, and most of the women on this board, no matter what their stage of cancer, do exactly that.  But there are some here who do not and those people should be ashamed of themselves. So I am no more of an intruder than you are, except I don't personally suffer from Breast Cancer, my wife does.   I wasn't aware it was a prerequisite to be personally suffering from breast cancer to offer opinions on a purely political thread having nothing to do with breast cancer whatsoever.  But you know, if you can't see that, if you can't think independently for yourself rather than listening to what the small minded women say, that's really your problem.

    Good Morning Obama Gals...

So nice for me to have this new thread to check into where we can actually talk about things.

You know, the forum was about breast cancer.  I was dx'd two years ago and I think a big part of the recovery is to get your mind off your body and your personal problems and get back to life and that's what we're doin' here.

Fact is, the reason we know each other is because we had a disease in common, but now that we know each other, it's so nice to find out we have other things in common too!!!!

Blaest...you're video of Wasilla was a BLAST!!! Showed it to my husband...and I think I am going back for one more time.  I very much enjoy your contributions here.  Too bad the moderators keep on banning you, but they just don't have the time to figure out whats really goin on here so they do everything by the book...

Speakin of books...anybody else read LEFT TO TELL??!!...if you haven't do....what a fantastic story!!!

I swear I am not a Democrat ... but my dad voted for Obama, even though he is Republican, and sends me these jokes so I thought you ladies would like them ...

    #1)
Today, Obama started receiving the daily White house intelligence briefing on things like security, terrorism . . . stuff like that. The same thing President Bush receives, but without all the pictures and color-by-numbers things.

    #2)
Yesterday, first lady Laura Bush called Michelle Obama and invited her and her young daughters to the White House. Laura Bush told Mrs. Obama, “While I give you a tour, the girls can watch SpongeBob with the president.”

    #3)
Sources from the McCain campaign say that when they were prepping Sarah Palin for the debates, they found out that she thought Africa was a country, not a continent. To be fair to Sarah Palin, it is hard to see Africa from Alaska

Thank you  Linora, unfortuantely all of my Blaest IDs have again been deauthorized.  If they were doing their jobs right, they would take the time to figure out whats really going on, but it is pretty clear to me that they want zero controversy on this board and it is easier for them to simply terminate an ID rather than taking the time to figure out what is truly going on. Since I am male and not sufferig from Breast Cancer it is easier to simply terminate.

Anyway, I really have little more to contribute. I have tried to help on insurance issues, which is one of my specialties, because I know how difficult insurance companies are to deal with and I know how to handle them, and I have tried to lead the charge against scam cancer cures, like Hoxsey or Tijuana, but some see me as an "intruder" who has no business offering anything about anything and I have been called every name possible by some of these people.

As for Mccain and Palen, it is my belief that anybody who supported Palen was being intellectually dishonest because nobody in their right mind could have possibly thought she was prepared for the job of Vice-president let alone President.  I have never understood the mentality of the far right who seem to care so little about other people and who believe they are on the side of God.  Really I think some of these people are mentally ill.

Anyway, no use beating a dead horse here. Like the most of you under this thread I have high hopes for Obama.  Perhaps our country will finally start moving in the right direction again.  We'll see.
