Nancy, I am sorry to hear about your heart issues. I too had Adriamyacin followed by Herceptin, so I know about the concerns. I didn't know they had changed the protocol; I will have to look into what they are doing now. Anyway, I hope your news is good and that you will soon have a treatment plan in place. I ditto Margerie: I will be thinking of you and your great big, beautiful, generous heart.

    Love, Anna

Hi , all....Yes Sebastian is growing fast. And busy as a bee all the time. Hard to catch a breath with one that busy.  Nancy, glad you had a chance to chime in. I hope all goes well finding out just what is going on.

Marg~ How much weight is gone so far? How is your mom....

Deb ~ A Book, now that I believe you can do....I read that post that day. Yes, I will let you use my story anytime. And you can even use my real name. Kiss

ODY ~ The leaves are really starting to change fast here. This week should be the peek. I will take some pictures and post.

Anna~ How is it back in the states? Are you going to any festivals in Loudoun? Aldie days is this Saturday....

I went to NC this past week end, but the trees weren't ready...not as pretty as I thought they would be. And we were at a log cabin in the woods. I really thought it would be more fall like. The weather was cool, but that was all.

Well, let me say good night....it is time for bed.

Oh Nancy, I somehow missed your post (don't worry, way back I missed how Anna ended up out of the country!).  I am so sorry.  Wow, it seems like when it rains, it pours for our little chemo group.  Hang in there, and we will certainly be surrounding you with prayer for stellar results on your angiogram.

Not much time to write, we woke up late, and I need to shower!
    Love and prayers, Deb

We have had another death ....34 year old cousin of my boys. That is the third young man in the last 4 months. It is very sad to hear,  when they had  so much life ahead. This last one killed himself.

    OH ML!

I just don't even know what to say.  How difficult a thing to hear!  How have the boys reacted to the news?  I'm so sorry.

I was gone all afternoon at the Pain Clinic.  It appears that there is HOPE, ladies!  The Pain Doc said, "This is NOT all in your head.  This is something VERY real, and I think that you are a good candidate for treatment.  We may have you off of the pain meds some day!"

HOORAY!!!  (happy dance icon belongs right here!).

If I had a dollar for every person who told me my pain was due to stress (dh included), I'd be a rich girl.  I feel like calling every one of those people and telling them.

The shot was odd, but very endurable.  Now I wait for the relief.  I hope it comes....
    Love and prayers, Deb

Mary Lou, I am sorry to hear your sad news. I hope your time in the mountains brought you lots of joy.

I just got back from a week in Boston with my daughter, soninlaw and little grandson. I had such a wonderful time and am now something like homesick to be with them.

    Love to all my sisters.

Oh Anna, I understand missing the baby. I miss my oldest granddaughter, but at least she can phone me a hundred times a day...LOL

The two little ones just left. I watched them for a few hours while their mom went shopping. I have plans to watch them on Saturday too. There is a Halloween party that the kids want to go  alone. I can't blame them.......it is hard to have fun and watch your kids too.

I remember the days mom watched my boys back in the day , when you just wanted to hear the voice of another adult.

Is anyone else getting Zoladex shots?  If so, are you having any SE?  I've been on them for 2 years and the past two shots have really taken a toll on my bones.  I've had joint pain, fatigue, and just overall body discomfort.  It' s been a struggle getting to work every day because I am so stiff and in such pain in the mornings.  I'm thinking maybe it's time to get an oophorectomy.  I can't remember who here had an ooph? Margie was it you?  Are you having any SE from it?  I need to decide what to do because my qualify of life is poor after those shots and by the time I feel better it's time for the next shot.  grrrrr

ODY ~ I'm so sorry, I didn't know you had such pain. I don't take that shot, so I have no idea as to if it has SE.

I got bad news again today. One of our family friends passed away. He was maybe 38. Had kidney failure. And also  watched the kids again today so Jessie could go to her great grand mothers funeral.

Lots of death all around. It is starting to unnerve me a bit.

There was also something that was great too! Sebastian said "By Gram" as I was leaving....made my day. Life is good Smile

    Love to all my sisters.

Marg ~ How is your mom?

Anna ~ Did you get to the hospital sale at Morven Park in Leesburg?

Lat ~ It is time to check in.

Nancy ~ you too. Been to long.

I'm up late (you too, ML?!?).  I can't sleep at all.  Grr!!

Ody-I know this is a tough choice, and I know you will do whatever the right choice is for YOU.  There is nothing worse than misery (says the girl with the crushing headache and non-stop cough, and ache that won't go away), so I know that you will do whatever you need to do so that you may enjoy the life you fought like hell for!!

No matter what, we are here to support you.

I wanna go to sleep!   More later.....

Oh Deb , I know what you mean about the sleep. And it is really hard when you have a little one and can't sleep in. I keep waking up with hot flashes....they're  getting on my nerves. I just talked to Michael at work, he wanted to know why I was still up. It is 2:21 am.

Ody, sorry about the pain. I hope you get some helpful answers. I'm not any particular treatment. I still have my ovaries, but chemo put me right through menopause. That took a toll on my bones, etc., (lots of etceteras). I haven't had to deal with hot flashes (knock on wood).

I was up in Boston and didn't go to the hospital sale. I've actually never gone, somehow it always escapes my awareness. I did, however, go to the Waterford Fair at the beginning of the month and I did some damage to my pocketbook there. Bad, bad, bad girl. I have this thing about Shaker boxes and there's a woman who makes exquisite miniature quilts. Those miniature quilts probably take more time to make than the full-sized ones. Except my full-sized ones, which take forever because I am the most easily distracted person I know.

Debbie, it sounds like you have something going on there; a crushing headache and non-stop coughing? that sounds like something a doctor might want to look at. My little tickle cough (the one that sent me to the doctor who then made me go through CT-scan hell while I was up in Boston in June) has come back. I'm giving the inhaler another try. I think that's what helped last time (hard to tell, the dr. gave me three meds: inhaler, acid-reflux pills and allergy pills, so I don't know which one worked). I think it might have something to do with the heat being put on. Before BC and chemo I would always get sinus infections this time of year. Not sure why they stopped during chemo; maybe I was spared bec. I was already dealing with such painful issues. Maybe I just didn't notice the sinus infection bec. my mind was elsewhere. Maybe these things are mostly in one's mind, and, as I read on another thread, "Don't believe what you think."

Ouch, so much thinking so early in the morning!

On another note, this time of year is my absolute favorite! I love love love the light coming in our windows starting around 4 p.m right through sunset. I love having to wear sweaters. I love the leaves! The pumpkins on everyone's porch. The schoolbusses (I love them now but they get progressively less loveable as the winter draws).

I hope all of you have a beautiful fall day today. With love, Anna

    Odalys,

I had an ooph two and a half years ago.  I don't have any pain or hotflashes.  Just struggle with insomnia (still) but I take melatonin and benadryl and that gets me to sleep.  The surgery was no big deal....... I am sorry you are having joint pain!  Yuck.

Anna~ sounds like fun!  We are haing an Indian Summer out here.  I still am in tank tops and flip flops since it has been in the 90's.  I love the fall crisp, cool air and I hope we get some soon!!

My mom is doing pretty well.  She is excited that 15 days after her chemo, her hair is still there.  She is due for her second round of 6 next Wednesday.

Are you all cutting back this holiday season??  Our extended family decided that we will just get Christmas gifts for the kids.   That will save a lot!!

Marg-I am glad to hear the words mom and excited in the same sentence from you!

Anna, ack?!?!  What do you think that means?!  That worries me.  I hate HATE my doctor (PCP), and don't trust him any farther than I can throw him right now.  He tried to FORCE me to take two meds that interact with each other.  "They will be fine.  Stop worrying!" I told him I had such a reaction to Compazine that I could not move my arms or lift my head.  "This is nothing like Compazine."

What a jerky doctor.  I'm SO not going to him.

I have to go, I am going to a very cool appointment.  The man who made Christopher Reeves an "e-stim" suit when he was alive is now treating Daniel.  I told him about my pain, and he is going to treat me as well!!!!  I can't wait!  More later!!!   Love, Deb

PS-ML, did you ever go to sleep?!

PPS-Anna, I am in total agreement with you about the fall.  I think it is the teacher in me.  I am wearing a fall sweater today for the first time and am as happy as a clam.  I LOVE the leaves, and have passed that love to Daniel.  We have a collection of leaves in the car, because Daniel goes, "OOOOH!! Pretty leaves!" and collects them as we get into the car.

I always think of "You've Got Mail," when Meg Ryan mentions her love of the fall and how it makes her think of a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils.   Aaah.  Heaven.

    Yes, fell asleep around 4am....Grrrrrrrr

Fall is my favorite too, always has been. It has to be around 47 before I get cold these days. Everywhere is just to hot for me.

I have to go with the kids to October fest in about an hour. Then we are bringing the babies home with us. Cory and Jessie are going to a Halloween party for a few hours.

We also need to stop by Michael's mom and dads. So it is a busy day.

    Hugs to you all Smile

Have a great week end Pictures, Images and Photos

Hello & yes, Happy Fall to everyone.  Although fall is over for us here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan!   All of the leaves have fallen & it snowed the other day.    The only good thing about winter is that there is somewhere to cool off when the hot flashes hit!  And my hot flashes are still a huge problem.

I've been fighting a cold/sinus infection for days and finally had to go to the doctor's.    (All of my yearly tests are coming up and I could NOT imagine having a coughing spell while getting a mammogram!  YIKES!!)    I miss out on so much because of the continuing fatigue & joint pain I have & now with this darn, awful cold I've missed out on some fun fall activities.    Its enough to get a person depressed!!

But..............I'm going to hang the rest of the Halloween decorations & bake special Halloween cupcakes for the grandsons.....and I'm just going to keep on going, darn it!!!  LOL

Hugs to all!  You are in my thoughts & prayers

Seven. Living side by side for 16 years, but married for seven.

This week is an anniversary week. On Friday it will be three years since I started chemo. Yep, I was a Halloween chemo girl. I like today's anniversary better.
