Strength is a capacity for endurance. One of the dividends
of suffering is the universal discovery that we possess a
strength within us we never knew we had. Navigating through
a difficult episode not only shows us that inner strength is
there but convinces us it will always be there to serve us in
the future. Overcoming gives us an assurance of personal
confidence and value that far exceeds what we thought
we possessed before our struggles began.

Beautiful Saturday morning full of sun. One report says snow but sure doesn't have the look with that very clear sunny sky. Tomorrow -- almost 60. WE shall see how it goes. Great to have the week-end here. Don't have much for plans. Maybe a trip to the grocery store. I could go to the ban and make a deposit, but I have a free day on Monday and could go to the bank that is closest to me.
Appts. later in the week to have Audiologist look at my ear. Suddenly last week couldn't hear a thing on that side. May be massive was build-up. Also finally will get my pedicure/cut. I am no longer flexible enough to do it myself -- and I have thick nails as well that don't cut easy.
Hope you all have a fantastic day.

My tip for the day is that I was getting error message and loss of entry untill I started hitting the submit button twice, rather than once. Hmmm.

Glad it is the weekend although we will still receive some updated news since Putin is still being his evil self in his war. I haven't heard mention now for a few days ( 3 or so ??? ) of an off ramp for him to back-up. Not sure he would anyway. I think I did read elsewhere that this (invasion/war ) was pretty much now or never since the orange Loon couldn't with Putin's help and directions cheat his way into keeping the reins of Washington.
He is loonier than ever which I also read as his last call in to Fox he ended up talking about windmills. No wonder it was said that his handlers are trying to keep him on a tight script, but that isn't working.
I don't see much of any way that he could run in '24. That is besides the fact that so many don't want him at all realizing he can't cut it. Just wow !!!

I think the Reps. are a bunch of aliens -- all need to be put in a ship and sent to Russia -- one way and no way back.
-
Spot on:
-
Still, Putin is ruining whole cities and committing atrocities at an alarming rate. He is trying to produce massive fear and compliance, but his army is not doing well at all, so I also think the bombings and horrid ruins are partly due to that. He did not set the thing up well. Maybe too confident that he could get his guy back in the WH and he has been adrift ever since. I do hear that he has more causalities then what is admitted while hearing the opposite at times too. I think it will be some time before we can depend on information getting through.
I do think Putin won't be able to see his way clear at all to backing up. He will keep on as this is his only chance to have what he wants and he seems un-able to comprehend that it may not work. He is rail-headed just like his orange U.S. counterpoint and can only see as far as his nose.

The above meme is so true. I used to have students complain about the cost of required textbooks while they all had expensive cell phones with expensive phone plans as well. So I am willing to pay more for gas now though I am not sure that all of the increase is due to supply issues.
John McCain would be ashamed of how the repugnicans have degraded their party and still support the loon. While print is a smidgen larger it is still difficult to read on this blinding background.
My sympathies for the Ukrainians and I do wish there was a way that we could help them without becoming involved in a world war. I admire their wanting to defend their freedom to their last breath because I am not sure we would have the same outcome. The dumby governor of FL said that he felt France would not defend itself but I am not sure that would apply to us either especially if the loon was in charge again. Remember the morons with the t-shirts that read they'd rather be Russian than a democrat? Scary.

In other news -- I saw this: Even Russian State TV Is Pleading With Putin to Stop the War
Posted: 11 Mar 2022 04:25 PM PST
State propagandists called for Putin to end the "special military operation" before "frightening" sanctions destabilize his regime and risk civil war in Russia.I'll be looking to see if I can find some more information on this, but at present it seems to me that Putin would do almost anything to try and get where he wants to be and therefore no matter how good someone's points may be -- is he interested much in listening. As usual, I do think, just as here in the U.S. while Loon was in some control, cooler, and much more reasonable people were around. He did not listen much and was reckless and impulsive. Sometimes I'm still amazed at ALL the bad things that might have happened, that didn't. Those left at the end were about as evil as their orange leader.
Still such a blessing to have Pres. Biden. I wish the Reps. campaign to smear him had not worked as well, but he does seem to be in a better place since Ukraine. Just wish it wouldn't have had to be something like that to do it. I do hope soon we start getting the televised hearings as I think that may be some of the needed icing to keep Biden from losing any ground again.

Here's what happens when I try to post or log in and get either a totally blank page or the "Our site is currently down" page. I click on the hotlink "Breastcancer.org" and get a page whose url is "s3.amazonaws.com" and this is the only thing on the page itself (at the very top, with everything else blank):
NoSuchKey
The specified key does not exist.maintenance-pages/breastcancer.org3G0D53WVFRKJ5DNYjG9l4tujtisAGwP/r05xYISa8kfX0RODeVYfhwyw/U9rHPvlRGByLhV4Gr/1YcMeabBiPUZ3XfY= -
All the weird work around just to log in! I hit log in, get a blank page. Hit the back button then Join Our Community and voilà, I’m logged in! No need to enter username/password or Touch ID. It, bco, somehow just knows it’s me 😂. Clearly, I’m easily amused.
-
I can try & log-in, and while I'm waiting, go fix a cup of coffee, make a few phone calls, & run around the block! I am persistent... but not patient.

illinoislady - it's also DuhSantis or DeathSantis.

Ah yes -- about Fla. and DuhSantis. I try so hard not to think of that fool I soon forget his REAL name. To some degree I try to not think too much about most of the Reps. So many are so far gone. Thinking now people like Ron Johnson, Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio. And totally get up in the air on MTG, Cawthorne, Gaetz. So many worthless individuals. Best I can say about them is they make such tremendous bad examples of what you shouldn't be. Guess it gives super meaning to it takes all kinds.
-
Today I'm finding that if I want my post to go through quickly ( well, fairly fast ) I need to only hit the submit bar once. Otherwise, I get the error page and have to re-submit. As far as logging in -- I open the page through a Microsoft Edge link. Once it opens I hit log-in. It flashes on and then right back off. I go up and hit the EDGE link again and it opens the start page where I can hit FAVORITES. From there I can choose any of the three forums I post too. It has happened ( since I was able to get on at all ) just like that each and every time. It works which is okay with me although a bit nerve-wracking the first couple of times.
I can't complain too much since most of the time I can come and go if not with total ease, at least in a way that is not too frustrating -- more nerve wracking since there is about just enough time to start to wonder if it might be going downhill. I just have to figure each time whether to hit submit once or twice to get the desired result.

Haven't the Reps. wanted to upend Medicare and Social Security all along. I think it was in Reagan's time they ( Reagan ) borrowed from Social Security. But they have been trying to wreak destruction for a long time. There is always money from the Reps. for the wealthy -- but anything for people not so well off is an entitlement that really shouldn't be happening. Their usual totally hypocritical stance. If you haven't got it we ( Reps. ) are going to try and make sure you never get it so you can keep on supporting us in the style to which we have been only too happy to become accustomed too.
Some days I am full of total disgust for the other side. Still glad my Dad is not around to see what has happened to the Republican party. -

One must never lose time in vainly regretting the past or
in complaining against the changes which cause us discomfort,
for change is the essence of life.
Anatole France -
Love all the memes, Divine, especially the moral compass. I had thought for a while we were getting better as a people, but the Loon was able to find so many misfits to infiltrate and many of the Reps. who at one time knew better, just rolled right over and accepted all these misfits. I feel that their has been some regret over that, but not enough. People don't stand up to evil very well. I always thought if you stood up as one body, one voice, you could come out with good effect. I still do. I will always feel like truth is stronger in the end than anything but if people aren't sane or reasonable it is still going to take time and patience.
I also think Putin is all the more desperate it sounds like. He is appealing to China who I've read will only basically laugh at his pleas to them. They can't really go his way. I do wish though that Putin was out of his misery. He put himself in a no-win situation and it is the Ukraines who are paying for that. -
Wonderful that so many of these good things have taken place -- wish they were noted a lot more in the media. The media is complicit with the Reps in presenting often very false pictures.
-
It is a difficult lesson to learn today--to leave one's friends and
family and deliberately practice the art of solitude for an hour
or a day or a week. And yet, once it is done, I find there is a
quality to being alone that is incredibly precious. Life rushes
back into the void, richer, more vivid, fuller than before. -
OMG! I could actually access this thread! Hah! Now I forgot what I was going to say!
Been trying to read you guys for about 4 days now, and cannot open this thread. Maybe I should stay here all day?? Okay, no.
