Well, well, well. I hope Gohmert does get a marvelous grilling from the FBI. He deserves that and more.
Louie Gohmert Just May Have Implicated Himself In The Capitol Attack
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) was either lying or needs to be talked to by the FBI after he claimed that Capitol Police told him to expect leftists in MAGA gear on 1/6.

Easy these days to find yourself deeply disgusted by the Reps.

This one had a brain shut-down a long time ago and nothing has changed. Long ago ( not sure if it was during Pres. Obama ) I think he was the one who opined that rape victims don't need abortions because in that instance the whole thing ( poss. Pregnancy ) just gets shut down. Hmmm. How so -- those sperm just pack up and refuse to work Louis. Reminds me of one of my dads sayings -- be careful not to be talking through the hole in your head. Gohmert may have more then one.

As far as the Republican party goes, the inmates are running the asylum.

I still find myself just astounded at what Reps. are saying and doing Ruth. I also think often of my dad, gone a long time now ( d-1996 ) who was a life-long Reps. Of course, while some highly un-desirable things perhaps were going on in 1996. Bill Clinton was President then and of course they ( the Reps. ) did their famous impeachment over his ( never mind that he shouldn't have done it ) affair with Lewensky. They weren't so bright back then but so much worse now. My dad would have no recognition for his beloved party now. In fact, though I'm not sure what he would choose, I don't believe he would even consider hanging in with the likes of now.
He also would have been disgusted by Trump. In fact, I'm not sure which would have disgusted him more -- the party or Trump. Just seems like any brain cells doled out to the Reps. party never made it there. What a super sad state of affairs while nerve-wracking as well since the Reps. do seem to have plenty enough power for now compliments of Sinema, Manchin and others. At the same time -- I'm hopeful ( can't be at all sure ) that things are going on with work and bi-partisanship that we don't see. I do know that information keeps getting out about Trump and his awful regime of players and hopefully a lot of that will open more eyes. I know it is not easily done -- we are so very partisan now -- but Biden has super high numbers and to now -- people are very happy with his leadership.
-
I really hope some of those behind-the-scenes activities will result in changing these things -- accountability.

Sometimes I think -- we might as well have a Reps. in this seat. We'd at least know what to expect In order to make this one not so important we need to elect more Democrats and steal Machin's ability to be the one in charge. I think he is liking his default right now.

It was a year or two ago, I watched the singer Halsey, who I really didn't know anything about, sing a couple songs along with the group Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum). They sang Halsey's song "Graveyard". The song haunted me for a long time for many reasons. And one segment of the population it reminds me of is those in the Republican Party who literally seem to have a "be loyal no matter where this goes" "do or die" mentality. Auggghhhh! How can there be so many? Yet there are.
Some Graveyard lyrics:
They say I may be making a mistake
I would've followed all the way, no matter how far
I know
when you go
down all your darkest roads
I would've followed all the way
to the graveyardOh, 'cause I keep diggin' myself down deeper
I won't stop 'til I get where you are
I keep running when both my feet hurt
I won't stop 'til I get where you are
Oh, when you go
down all your darkest roads
I would've followed all the way
to the graveyardOh, it's funny how
The warning signs can feel like they're butterflies -
This makes me so happy, as does Jill's 'love' jacket & her visiting a school with Kate Middleton.

Ruth, sanity is a beautiful thing especially when mixed with great care for our democracy and having a Pres. who wants to restore all we lost and more.

She definitely looks happier to me. Donald so disrespected her during his visit and while we do not feel the need to curtsey for the monarchy, I respect her role in the British hierarchy. Even Kate looked like she was enjoying being with Jill. What a win for us.

Oh those thousand words are fantastic for the picture on the right.

This makes me happy.

Sad, and they have little idea how they have been swindled.

No less horrid and sad today.

The horror only amplified and multipled by the myriad of mass shooting since then.

Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them;
but do not let them master you.
Let them teach you patience, sweetness, insight.

I am hoping that time will prove friendly towards some of the things we need altered/repaired/totally changed in this country and one of those is the whole gun issue. Ousting Trump and minions is another. I don't see it as easy, but unless we change and learn which no will accomplish real change we are in for it. I do think there are things happening that are not highly apparent. Just read that Merritt Garland has made some statements ( forced to some degree ) about some of the former lying Trump people. Sessions, Rosenstein and Barr. I feel like AG Garland knows that a lot of us are not looking for namby-pamby here.
I just think we are going to have to give some time. He is instituting a lot more legal help to deal with these things so patience is on the menu. Hard sometimes to have to go into that mode after four long yrs. of nothing but lies, greed, and the breaking of laws and norms. I'm the first to say I wish much was already accomplished. Still Pres. Biden's numbers are fantastic -- the other countries do feel ( if some caution ) that we are back and leading the way. Keep up the good work Pres. Biden. I think all of us are glad for the Cabinet he chose.
