I forced myself to go to bed last night and stay there until morning (although I woke up many times). I sure hope the message is loud and clear to the Republicans. Worshipping at the altar of Donald Trump is a very bad idea.

So glad this morning that it looks like GA is going to be blue for us now. Was it Trump ? Probably so. It has mainly been downhill for him the last few months and sensing that he piled one mistake onto another. Flamboyance always worked for him before, but elections ( especially when you have done little to change your status ) are not the time. Also, kicking peaceful protesters out of Lafayette Sq. and doing nothing about a pandemic, while starving people and helping dismantle the economy -- then spending your last weeks whining and trying to get states to pad/find votes you didn't actually receive. I'm not sure I could do more than abjectly slightly raise my eyes today if I were a Reps. which thank the great spirits I am not. Yes, I do think Trump had a lot to do with what is taking place and I think the idiotic display today is just going to put some more awful icing on the tattered Reps. cake.
So, I turn now to worrying about these last few days. I hope Trump might be more focused on where he needs to go ( Scotland has said no ) on the 19th. if he indeed wants to get out of town and I'm sure he does. Tuck your tiny tail and go. Please !!

"If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power " - Dwight D Eisenhower

This is the only way I want to hear Trump if Sarah Cooper isn't available. 👍

Ruth, I watched Senator-elect Warnock on The View this morning talking about his mother; very moving.
Then spoiled brat sore loser Meghan McCain tried to grill him about his views on Dems focusing on packing the Supreme Court, and twice he shut her down, saying his efforts will be on healthcare and getting the economy running again for Georgians.
I love that McCain has to sit in her own doo-doo with Dems now in control; she no longer gets to give herself long, congratulatory pats on the back for being with the “in” crowd. Eat crow, bitch.

The breaking news is Biden will nominate Merrick Garland for Attorney General.
-
Mitch McConnell is making a very good speech on the Senate floor right now. And Pence issued a good statement as well.

So nervous, want all this to be done and Biden fully confirmed and no violence. GAH.
-
The Capitol on lockdown due to Trump supporters surrounding it. All egged on by the Preserve of the United States. Disgraceful!!!
-
I can't watch the streets in front of the white house or the clown show. Do we know about when the electoral counting starts?
-
Maybe this will scare some of his congressional enablers.
-
Now they have stormed the Capitol and are inside.
-
“Protestors breach Senate Chamber”. No surprise. All egged on, incited by Donald Fuckhead Trump
-
I am literally shaking....the United States of America....
-
Now the lame GOP is seeing what their years of denying, ignoring, bypassing, and general enabling of the world's # 1 asshole has led to---embarrassing and scary violence --- the "great" Rule of Law folks seeing what DT hath wrought.....hope they are happy now! The head of the fish has been severed but his stink continues!

Department of Defense has declined request to deploy National Guard.
Trump needs to be removed. He told his supporters to do this and doing nothing to stop them.
-
This is no longer a bloodless coup.
-

-
Unfortunately, DC’s Mayor does not have the authority to deploy our National Guard. I said it this summer and I’ll say it again, she and subsequent mayors should have that authority just like the governors of states.
-
Putin is loving this!
-
I'm just so afraid! Afraid like when I was a little girl, and we were all afraid of Hitler! What is going ON with our country? Are there that many followers to this dictator? It's like we should be supporting our newly elected President , which we all voted for, but these insane people are following t-rumps wishes! This is all on him!
-
Virginia National Guard is reponding the DC's request for help.
-
This is horrifying. I cannot believe this is happening in my country. This is not why I served in the Army, so that thugs could attempt a coup.
-
DC National Guard finally have the permission to be deployed.
-
The Conferdate flag is a nice touch....given that they would like to overthrow the government of the United States.
