I've mostly had to stay away from the news the last couple days because it is making me crazy.

*Trump cares about no one, and nothing, but himself. Mitch is letting this all drag on because he DOES care deeply about holding the Senate and wants ti keep the base inflamed until the Georgia run-off is over. Mitch has done more to undermine the democratic institutions than anyone alive. When we should be coming together and healing, he and the other Republicans are sowing distrust of the whole process. They are despicable. As far as firing the career people and putting their lapdogs into key positions, it is very frightening to me. There is a glimmer of hope because they are, for the most part, very, very stupid.

Looking at Trump at Arlington a few thoughts came to me......

He seems to be letting his hair go white.....the orange is down...maybe he's just said no to a visit to the salon as he broods in the residence....

I wonder if in his head here in front of the wreath he's thinking "I, too, am a wounded veteran! I, too, am a victim of cruel fate!"

They're saying that he's not uttered a public word in a week......

Second both of the messages above. I lost classmates in Vietnam and had several who returned home who sadly were never the same again. Their names are etched on the Wall for posterity. My DB is a Vietnam vet, Dad was a WWII vet as were 2 of his brothers and my nephew served in Iraq. So a proud family tradition.

Thank your loved ones for their service. They are the true heroes and that jackasss should not have saluted since he did not ever serve.

I came to the same assessment (above) last week about Ohio after seeing how it voted in this election. The saying used to be, “As Ohio goes, so goes the nation." Apparently, Biden's the 1st elected president without carrying Ohio since 1960. I have felt the switch in my gut. It's one reason I felt Ohio would not go for Hillary. Ohio is conflicted because many of its jobs adversely affect the environment. They are asked to choose between keeping its population working in the present vs concern for the future of the global climate. Also, these industry jobs are and always have been male-oriented like coal, steel, fracking and power plants, and men tend to lean more conservative. The women who support them have been conditioned to be submissive so many think as their husbands do. The Dems want to create other kinds of jobs for the region but Ohioans want to keep what they have. Republicans are anti-union which is also a conflict for these type of Ohio jobs, but the majority here seem to think The Rep party is a better choice.

Trill: Was it you who recommended "A Place to Call Home"? If so, this series kept me diverted during the election hullabaloo and I just saw the last episode this evening. This was the tear jerker, but all-in-all a wonderful series. So thank you for recommending it. It was nice to escape to another world, not without its share of problems, but one where I was an observer rather than a participant.
