But I would love to see him after losing. In court trials fake-pushing a walker like Weinstein. In mugshots. In prison without his pancake make up and troll hair.
-
Trishyla...That necklace is simply stunning!
glennie19..I would love to join your party! I just check, I am on season 2 episode 13. It is being shown from the beginning on one of the channels we get (can't remember which one) so that is how I am watching it. We don't have the fancy channels or Netflix either. I wish it came on on demand here. The series comes out on DVD later this month and I will probably get it.
IllinoisLady...Thank you for explaining. Gosh I desperately hope you are right.
Trill1943...Thank you for sharing that, it is very interesting and I agree.
SerenitySTAT....Thank you for the laugh! It would make me incredibly happy to watch every one of those.
-
Trishlya: I LOVE that necklace! If you can point me the way to the jeweler perhaps I might have to celebrate (likely if I ever am able to finish chemo, but maybe if things go REALLY REALLY REALLY well tonight!) by buying myself something just like it
I am trying so hard to avoid the news. I had an extra hard day at work today. And super bad heartburn already from my infusion on Thursday, so I need only good news right now.
-
YesIamaDragon...I am trying to avoid the news too. The thought of another 4 years of the orange dictator is enough to just make me want to stick my head in the oven. It scares the hell out of me. Now, I think you should definitely treat yourself to that necklace just because...you don't need a reason though I believe enduring breast cancer, chemo, and a pandemic (plus the orange dictator) is more than enough reasons to treat yourself. I hope your heartburn improves and that we all get some wonderful news tonight.

Thanks for the kind words about my necklace. It's one of my designs. It's one my favorite pieces, partly because it looks much more complicated than it really is.🙂 Plus the purple pearls and the purple crystals match my purple hair.
I'm glad I had one on hand (normally they sell as soon as I make them) since I really want to honor RBG.

Also, I just want to say, I am so happy to live in a state with a Republican gov. that sent ballots to every registered voter in the State back at the end of September. And said Gov. announced that he voted for Biden.
Oh, yeah, that same Gov. had "Black Lives Matter" painted in huge print on the street in front of the capitol. And has implimented strict COVID measures right from the start. So it is nice to know they aren't ALL crazy.
We were able to drop our ballots off at town hall last week (were undecided on just a few local races that we wanted more info about, was what took us so long).
-
Trishyla: What a talent you have. RBG would have been proud of such a necklace since she loved statement pieces and that you designed and wore it. It is lovely.
-
trishyla,
That necklace is stunning
-
Wow Trishyla, that necklace is stunning!
Yeslama, retail therapy is VERY important. Buy some stuff just because you want it. The more impractical the better.
We hiked and hiked with the grandpuppies. They were pretty quiet passengers on the way home.
When you finish the last season of Schitt's Creek, be sure to watch the 45 minute special about the filming of the last season. It was so sweet that I cried. You can tell how much the actors adored each other and their characters.
OK. I need to clean up and put my pearls back on. Maybe not start watching the returns until later.

Ruth--love the photos! Beautiful dogs!
(Just a reminder about the red mirage----> the huge Trump numbers that roll in early. This is due to in-person voting today, when more Trump folks than Biden folks voted.....BUT mail-ins are 100 million and yet to be counted.......and THOSE voters tend to favor Biden.......)
-
Yeslama, am sorry you are feeling poorly and hope that has settled some by the time you read this. I live in a Democratic state but like you have a Republican governor...he's a good guy who is well-liked. He did a write-in for Mitt Romney--said he would not vote for Trump. Wish he'd gone for Biden but oh well....can't have everything! But I really like him and don't care that he's not a Dem....
-
Trishyla...You are very talented! You should keep this one.
ruthbru....I adore your grandpuppies. The pictures are beautiful. Thanks for the note about the making of the finale of Schitt's Creek. I will be sure to watch it. I hope the DVD has a lot more behind the scenes and/or deleted scenes.
Trill1943...Gosh I appreciate the reminder about the red mirage. My son has been saying the same thing. This is just so unnerving that I think it will be better for my mental health to get off the computer and watch Hallmark movies, then just go to bed early. This has been such a trying year and I don't think I have the stamina for watching what happens.
-
cm2020: Well, am glad the red mirage reminder has helped you a little....like me, you are nervous.....I hate to see ANY votes going to Trump......how ANYONE could vote for him I don't understand at all....
-
Trill1943......I know...I don't get how anyone could vote for him either. It is simply beyond my understanding. It is sickening to see votes go to him. Okay......I am doing what I said and signing off for the night. So praying to: actually get some sleep tonight and to wake up to great news of a new (real) president tomorrow morning.
-
love the kittens!!!!
Happy fur kids❤️❤️
-
Thanks for the reminder about the Red Mirage, Trill. I was starting to lose hope.
-
Agree with cm2020 - It's 7:24pm in Houston. So far I haven't looked at any news reports today. Signing off for the night to read a good book of mystery short stories & go to sleep early. Tomorrow is another day.
-
cm2020, sleep tight, sweetie!
On PBS they were talking about how the less-educated voters are going BIGGER for Trump this time around--as if they COULD be less-well-educated.....!!! What it means? TRUMP HAS MADE THEM EVEN DUMBER THAN THEY WERE BEFORE!! (Maybe that's his goal ...)
-
Back from poll greeting. I had 3 other people from the Biden campaign there, so I wasn't alone! 2 of them have been there all day!!! Since 7AM. They are young and full of energy. They said there was a line at 7AM, but it was gone after 20 mins and the rest of the day was a little steady, but rather quiet, compared to early voting. They were glad I brought more leaflets as they were almost out. We didn't have a lot of people between 5-7PM, but some who very obviously came right from work, still in uniform. One of the other ladies had leftover KitKats from Halloween, so she was giving them out.
Had some Mac and cheese when I got home, and finished watching Halloween Baking Championship. Will probably just chill and go to bed. See how things are in the morning.
-
I wish I could go to sleep and wake up to the results. But it's only six o'clock here, so I've got hours to go before I sleep. I hope we have a definitive answer before midnight my time.
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO -
How can it be so close? Have people not been paying attention over the past 4 years? The past 8 months
-
DogMomRunner.... I know what you're saying..... I think there are just so so many uneducated white men out there who continue to see in Trump a "man's man"......they're pushing with their vote up against the slow roll of the liberal young, women, and people of color who represent changes and ideas they still can't accept and that make them intensely uncomfortable. They SAY it's about the economy and jobs because that sounds "manly" but I believe it's about the discomfort they feel about the power that women and Blacks (especially) have...
-
Trill I agree. I'm sorry, but to vote for Trump is racist and misogynistic. I'm disgusted.
-
Add in anti-science. More people have suffered/died because Trump got tired of the pandemic. He has supporters who actually believe he's not responsible or it's just like the flu.
-
blue, right....that's part of the Good Old Boy code....Blacks to them are meant to stay down...women to stay quiet and stay pregnant....the young to stay "good kids".....
Serenity---right: anti-science is really anti-education....
We're stuck with them until they die off......
I've always felt heartened by this particular group, because their discomfort to me signifies that progressive ideas are making serious inroads, up against which they fight. They are signifiers that change is afoot and can't be stopped. You can't put that Genie back in the bottle. But they are doing their best to do just that. And Trump represents that fantasy....
It won't work.
What's the saying: "Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come."
So many ideas have "come"--LGBT rights, abortion rights, etc.....
I think we're still seeing the red mirage and hope the envelopes open and reveal good news for us.
-
It is really frustrating that most of my family is Republican. They live in a religious echo chamber and don't see the consequences of supporting the likes of Trump.
It is also really frustrating how many people are still voting Trump. It should only be people who can't read... What is wrong with people? This country is so sick?
Trill - Thank you for the positive thoughts - there has been some progress made. I must focus on that!!!
-
Blue, this kind of thing reminds me how slow people are to change....to accept new ideas...the harder they cling, the more they object and scream and push back, the more it shows me they are internally feeling the pressure of the inevitable that's come--and still coming.....they hang onto the rural countryside because that's like "the good old days," religion because it's "the old-time religion." It gives them a feeling of security.
But it's too late. No matter how they shout and carry on, ideas have been planted that won't stop growing....
