edj3, I can relate to your ending your friendship; I'm going through the same thing. Last year when I didn't know the political leanings of this gal I met online via one of the eagle cams we both watch I sent her a funny anti-Trump meme, of which there are now millions. She snippily wrote back to please not send her any more of these things. Later I asked her why she was pro-Trump and she sent me a paragraph that sounded like something she grabbed off the internet--not her own words.
Anyway, here it is election year and a while ago she let me know she's once again voting for DT.
I can't believe this as she's such a vigilant I'll-do-anything-and-everything-for-my-health kind of person--flossing twice a day, wearing an N95 mask when she goes out, showering after every outing, etc. Now here's a man who could care less about health--including his own!--and who has indirectly caused via his negligence the deaths of thousands--and she's gonna VOTE FOR HIM??? Leaving out of it all the other stuff--Russia, impeachment, racism, etc--the Covid issue alone should be enough to change her mind.
No way.
OK, I've been trying to just look at the things we have in common and forget the rest, but last night she sent me a meme that is all anti-Biden....nasty.....
Wha---?
I'm dying to throw some of her comeuppance in her face....but I'm not. I'm ending the relationship. This is nuts. SHE is nuts. THEY are nuts.
Yes, I worry that the ass will get reelected too...the power of the incumbency, etc...all those idiots.....I don't drink so to arm myself I just ordered $40 worth of Halloween candy from Amazon Fresh. Well, it's not really Halloween stuff...mainly bittersweet high-cocoa numbers dark chocolate--some with Stevia--the kind kids hate. So at least as I nibble away in misery (or nibble away in celebration) I'll be nibbling healthy......

Wow!

What's with Mitch's face and hands? Looks like he fell and caught himself with his hands...or landed on something that caused these very bad bruises........
-
I don't think these are actual pics of him, unfortunately..
-
I still think rump will win. They'll find a way.
-
Artista, this looks pretty authentic to me.......pix could have been darkened on his hands to make it more dramatic...I've never seen such dark bruises...

DH is 81 and takes a baby aspirin. He is covered with dark bruises all the time from gardening without being careful.

blue---that was hilarious! Thanks!

A hand that color would be close if not being amputated. I think it's doctored to make it look worse. Both sides do this. Ds are no angels either. I take baby aspirin daily too and bruise purple but never that dark. I'm so tired of the mud slinging on both sides. It won't end nov 3. It's going to be awhile until it settles down a bit. I don't watch the news. Just local news. All politicians suck. Just some suck much more.

Not necessarily, Artista. You have to remember, Mitch McConnell is elderly. My father in law's hand looked very similar to this when he was taking coumadin to thin his blood after a stroke. Blood thinners are very different from baby aspirin.
As far as it's authenticity, if it's been verified by Snopes, then you can count on it being accurate. They're the unbiased fact checkers of the internet.

I wonder if the 2nd post of pic was actually darkened. It looks a lot darker than the first set of pics. The 1st set looked more realistic. And his face looks slightly injured too. I think the guess of a fall, where he put out his hands to break the fall, and still slightly hit his face is a realistic guess.
Blood thinners will cause much more bruising than aspirin. At his age, it would not surprise me at all if he is on them for A-fib, or something else. My Mom has an auto-immune disease, ITP, where her body does not make enough platelets, which are the blood cells that help you clot, and she bruises with the slightest bump. Kinda reminds me of these pics.
I love Mayor Pete. He really says it like it is. And I LOVE that the young people are coming out to vote. When I was doing poll greeter this week, I saw a couple of family units, looked like grandmother, mom and daughter (or son) all standing there together, waiting to vote. That was pretty awesome.

Trill1943 I think I'll take a clue from you and plan some sort of celebration or wake for November 4.

edj3, and on that day--or series of days, more like it--you and I can raise our bars of non-sweet 96% pure cocoa and shout either, "Yay! We DID it!" or, "Thank God for term limits!"

If it can be verified, we don't need faith. . . . Faith is for that which lies on the other side of reason. Faith is what makes life bearable, with all its tragedies and ambiguities and sudden, startling joys. -Madeleine L'Engle
