I also was totally terrified of having the BMX because of my age and it's just not nearly as safe as the lumpectomy. My breasts are large and not having them would be hard physically to adjust to. My surgeon said when a patient wants a BMX she would much rather do one breast and the second breast 3 months later. She said it is easier on the patient. I think that's what I'll do if I ever have to have a BMX.
