Better yet, some chocolate covered blueberries with edible cannabis, if it’s available in your area..

Colleen - Just checking in to let you know you are not alone. Support is so important and you have many wonderful ladies here helping. I think you are correct on the TDM-1 but I wonder about off label use for early non-responders. Interestingly, I had a Grade 2 tumor HER 2+++, with a KI-67 of 21%. The doctor at Johns Hopkins where I obtained a second opinion stated that is low KI-67 for HER2, and yours being substantially lower is interesting. However, I have seen a few other ladies on this forum with HER2 and very low KI-67 rates, just not many. My mitotic rate was a 1 which corresponds. I was concerned about chemo efficacy. MO told me, that these measurements for dividing cells are at "that given moment" so it is a fleeting glimpse and may vary. This is confusing to me. Is your doctor doing Tamoxifen or other hormone therapy? I may have missed this. There are so many treatments and meds available, just need to find one that works for you.

    oxygen, are you okay?

I was putting up a shade cloth and the stool/side table I was standing on collapsed, fortunately not perforating me on my way down. I now have a gorgeous purple bruise the size of a salad plate on my butt. I hope the pool girls don't think less of me for being a scamper monkey rather than dragging over a stepladder.

ksusan and oxygen hope you all are ok!!

Amica, thanks. I’m hoping to get more info because it’s all so confusing. I hate that things are taking so long for you.

Becca, my onc is going to start me on hormone suppressing shots and and AI. They are hoping my cancer was more hormone driven than HER2 and I will have better success with the hormone therapies than I have with herceptin/perjeta (although I’m continuing that as well just to be safe). Of course, there’s no real way to know now that the cancer is out, so we’ll just have to hope I guess. Thanks for your encouragement.

thank you my dear sweet friends. I appreciate you so much.

Holding off on surgery at least for now. Going ahead with hormone therapy and radiation. Redoing MRI in 6-8 weeks. If there's any concern on the repeat MRI we would need to re-evaluate, but right now it looks ok to stick with what I've already done. There were no black and white answers, so I pray I made the right choice. Thank you all again so much for your prayers and love. <3

Cyn, how did the chemo go today?

Amica, were you able to get on a cancellation list, and if so, are you feeling free to check with them periodically about any progress moving up the list? In any event, we're waiting with you. I'm blowing lots of good wishes your way -- and everone else's way.

(To Colleen and Susan, I m doing ok, thanks for asking, just wishing we all could have peace of mind and only good news)

Coleen, good to hear your good news!

Oxygen, I hope you are recovering from your near accident nicely.

Amica, just a few more days to your appointment! Stay strong.

I did get my first Taxol yesterday. They got the vein and said that port is not needed for now. Whew! It took almost 5 hours to get the dose into me. Unsurprisingly, my vein overreacted to premeds first and to Taxol later. The drip had to Be slowed considerably and diluted with fluids. Starting to feel yucky and achy..

    Colleen,

Glad you now have a plan and can hold off on further surgery if any. I peeked at some info from Johns Hopkins the other day, and the treatment you have received and will receive is very similar to how they too do things.

    Inna,

I hope the next infusion goes much better for you. So sorry yesterday it took 5 hours, hope your arm feels better soon.

    Hi All,

Colleen...I agree you now have a plan in place. What a relief ! Now you can breathe a little easier.

Inna.... Sorry to hear your first treatment you had issues. The 'Yucky' ...I hear you. Prayers for a much easier time round 2. Hope you're able to rest, keep issues controlled & feel better very soon .

Oxygen.... My 1st cycle went OK..I got a slight head rush kinda feeling @ beginning of Taxotere, & mild headache with Cytoxan.. oh and a weird feeling in my left shoulder of all things, (IV was in right) when T was started. It felt like electric shock ..split seconds that just came & went 4x ..so just seconds, but it was strange. I did mention it to RN. Other then that..feeling decent. Only issue I'm getting is the "Yuckies" like Inna.. little tummy upset, cramping that comes & goes. I did get a nice walk in after coming home. I'm just gonna "chill" tomorrow, hopefully catch up on some reading.

So nice to hear good things in this Waiting Room! Blessings to all you lovely ladies ! 🤗Cyn

cyn and inna hope you feel better quickly!

    Elaine and amica, thank you!

Oxygen thanks for telling me that, always good to hear things look to be following protocols.

Hope everyone is feeling ok tonight emotionally. Weirdly, I tend to feel the worst in the morning and best at night. Any other times of stress in my life it’s been the opposite. Who knows how the mind works.

    Hi Colleen,

Yes the radiation therapy should kill off the remaining cancer cells.

The MRI will verify this one way or the other.

I'm glad you were able to meet with your doc and evaluate things. It's excellent that an MRI will be done in 6-8 weeks. That's the way it should work: treat, evaluate, tweak if necessary. It sounds like you are getting high quality care, and that you are being a thoughtful proactive patient--thoughtful in the terms that you are keeping on top of things and asking the right questions, and that you have doctors who are effective and professional. Brave you for getting through this appointment! You did it!

    Oxygen18---

I phoned, it was a no go on any cancellation list.

I'm left with my appointment for August 9th. I've been trying to get my family doctor to call me back, so that I can beg her to try to get my complete pathology results by then; that's essential information. Even if they are not in yet I hope they start ordering some scans! I need to know where things stand! I hope you are doing well.

    InnaB2018---

You did it! your first Taxol. You're across the half-way mark! I found Taxol less hard then A/C, so hopefully this round will go OK for you. Pat yourself on the back and treat yourself like royalty. My hats off to you. I hope the next one, your veins behave better. I will be thinking of you. Let us know how things go. I am hoping you feel better after a few days.

    Hugs ()

I remember having that weird sensation when the infusion first starts. But your body will adjust to the chemo, it is a shock to the system quite literally. I am hoping your chemo treatments go as well as possible. And I hope for you also that you feel better soon. The important thing is that potent chemicals are destroying the cancer cells! which is a reassuring thought. I used to think of the chemo as silver bullets targeting those cancer cells and obliterating them.

    take care, (hugs)

I just wanted to say that you are all so brave and strong (whether you feel like that or not) for going through all this.

There is so much uncertainty and fear, and often no clear answers.

But you are courageous, and admirable. And you also take the time to show kind compassion and support for the others on here. You have helped me so much, and I am grateful.

You are all super great women!

    standing strong with you,

    Amica

Amica you are so kind, thanks for taking the time to write to us. I saw another lady post today that is dealing with this again after 20 years just like you, and I told her to look for you here in case she wanted to find someone in a similar situation!

    Ksusan, thank you!!

Guys I ate two huge cookies yesterday. I have been completely staying away from anything sweet for months, and it’s been pretty easy because it scares me to think that it could be feeding the cancer, but I just lost my control yesterday. Ha ha. Oh well, I guess it will happen sometimes.

I am going to see my therapist for the first time in the morning. I’m really looking forward to finding some tools to help with all this fear and anxiety!

Hope you are all as well as possible today. <3

I hate Taxol. The past two days were horrible. I was in so much pain, I broke down, called my doctor and got Prescription for Tramadol. Today I have an appointment with an acupuncturist, let’s hope she’ll be able to help me.
