Kind of hard to see, but there are 2 eggs in the nest in my wreath now. Trying not to disturb them, but Sofia barks at the door when she hears them.

Lita- I started with 2 eggs! Then there were 5 and now I have 5 babies! I can't get a good picture the little chicks huddle close together in the nest. They are about a week old now. What joy this nest has brought. Thinking of you and sending gentle hug!

DH informed me there are now THREE eggs in the nest.

Feeling very TIRED for some reason today, and my stomach is upset. We all have to realize that with every successive infusion, the SEs become more intense and continue to take a substantial toll. I have been on this Stage IV MBC ride for two years now, with maybe a week or two break between Tx's here and there.

I'm also psychologically bummed because a dear woman who used to sing in the choir just passed yesterday from Stage IV kidney cancer. She didn't even get ONE YEAR; was Dx'd in June of last year. We don't know how long it was in her system b4 Dx. She suffered a LOT b4 finally getting it Dx'd. Nobody thinks "cancer" right off the bat...she thought it was some sort of stomach thing (ulcer, dyspepsia, IBS, etc.). She and her partner were shocked when they found out it was St IV right from the gate.

Everyone says, "Well, at least she's not suffering anymore..." and "She's flying with the angels now..." "She's in the loving arms of Jesus...."

But none of that makes me feel any better. I just have to keep focusing on ONE DAY AT A TIME, and not let my own mind wander to the old "How many more days/weeks do I have left?"

    Going to bed early tonight,

    L

    Lita,

So sorry of your loss.  Phychologically and emotionally that takes a toll on us and in turn it can wipe us out physically.  Good that you went to bed early.  (((Hugs)))

I am very sorry for your loss Lita. But you're still cooking awesome meals, and you are just present! I wish I knew what to say to make you feel better. Life sucks sometimes. I hope you sleep well. It seems to be the only place...where we can be close to who we used to be. Or at least rest free of worries. Sending thoughts and hugs...~M~

Lita-stopping by to say Hello. The loss of your friend must feel so icky. Staying in the moment is our best weapon against this miserable bastard of a disease. Sending you love, my dear MBC sister.

Lita, it must hurt your soul to lose these special friends. It can beat you down.

I miss your kitchen creations. Are you still baking? From what I remember your eyesight was bothering you.Today I am resting on my bed and listening to the galing wind. It is actually beautiful. Thank goodness we have several senses to experience our world.

The top crust fell a little, but the booklet said that could happen. Didn't alter the taste or texture...it's wonderful.

DH brought out our old DAK breadmaker -- it's over 25 years old! So im making bread again to save money. A bag of flour and some yeast is way cheaper than some of these 3.99 loaves at Safeway.

    Next...cinnamon raisin bread!

Sofia is under the weather today. She threw up her breakfast. Now she's on rice and cottage cheese. So far, that has stayed down. Bulldogs are susceptible to allergies where histamines are released that promote more stomach acid, ergo vomiting. It's okay to give them children's benadryl and pepcid ac in small doses tailored to their weight. We've had this problem with other Bulldogs. That's why so many are surrendered to rescue. People can't handle the multiple health issues, allergies just being one of many things.

We've been pretty lucky with Soaf. Our very first Bulldog had all kinds of health issues from day one and passed at 8 years. Sofia just turned 7, and that's upper middle aged for them. Thanks to better vet care and diet, they're living longer, but the health issues are still there.

Awe, feel better beautiful Sofia. Our English boy Sarge had chronic ear problems and a sensitive stomach but was otherwise very healthy, he passed away a few years ago at 12 1/2.

I wish I could bake, love seeing your pic’s 😋

Hope you heal quickly and have minimal problems with it! Did you get a Bard PowerPort?

I hate my port but it still beats the alternative since my veins decided to go into hiding. One time the hospital even had to use some new sonogram technology to find a vein and insert a needle after 5 people tried and gave up haha!

In August, mine will be four years old. I don't know how you do without one. The guy who put it in said it would last five years but when I saw him later, he said ten. I'm keeping mine. The recovery is not too bad. Just a little soreness. With what you have been through, it will seem like nothing.
