Hi Rosevalley,
Thinking of you this morning.
I was able to get a little progress on the blanket this week.
Sending light, love, and roses to you,
Madelyn

Stephanie I am sorry you woke with nausea and glad it was serene and quiet on the farm. I hope today is better and you are able to sleep and rest and enjoy the time you have awake without pain and nausea. Hugs.
I drained yesterday so I feel better today. The non drain days are always better. I have had no nausea this morning, drank tea and ate cottage cheese. So far so good. I feel better when I can eat something and drink enough. I am trying to take advantage of this by getting some things done. I separated worn clothing and things too small from my DD3 room for our free thrift shop. Where folks can go shop absolutely free. No cost. I like to take the kids things and anything of mine there. I filled up the back of the car. yay. trying to clean up. Then get DD and go to counseling. It's cold here. Sunny but barely 60.. I am so grateful to feel ok this morning. No Ibrance ugh..
I love the photos. Thank you for all the kind thoughts and support. I hope my oncs office calls to set up infusion next week. fingers crossed it goes through. Graduation from 8th grade is next week.

Thinking of you, Rose. Here's a picture from the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota where I have been spending a few days.

Ruth that is so beautiful have a wonderful time. Eat some tasty camp food for me. I am back to liquids. I was pretty sick yesterday from trying mac and cheese. Can't wait till taxol is approved. Counting down the days. Love to all.
-
Rosevalley- I am sorry things are so hard for you. I pray the taxol gives you more time and some relief too. You are determined to get through the summer and be around for your youngest DD. That is admirable beyond anything I can say, given how you are feeling right now. I hope you can get some relief and also be able to be present for your DD to have this wonderful summer together.
Cancer is yellow bands, pink ribbons, and the like for most people. Unless you have have it, have had it, or helped someone who has had it, there is no way to describe this to anyone and make them get it. I talked to a friend who has Stage IV brain cancer yesterday about where he is at. I spoke to his daughter before hand, so I knew what was going into before I called. I am trying to do something to help the family to make things a bit easier for them, and during my time with his DD, she broke down on the phone tears with me. Then my friend called me and said he wants me to come over this week. I have been prepared about what I will see when I go. But I am going because that is what we do. I wished I were closer to you so I could come for a visit as well.
Here is one of my favorite blooms from the cactus this year Rose. To me, it symbolizes the light and shadow that life is filled with. Wishing you better days friend and more light.

Rose, hoping you get to start on the Taxol. I was pleasantly surprised how fast the Taxotere worked on my liver mets. Spine mets slipped through though.
Hard to pass on Mac & cheese. I have a great recipe for 5 cheese penne. Not lo-cal, but tasty & great for pot lucks.
Sweet dreams, my ILC sister. You are my inspiration.

Jazzy- I hope the meeting with your dying friend goes well and the visit replenishes friendship and soothes pain. Saying goodbye is hard. We want to visit and connect as people and friends and not good byes. Good byes are important though, giving us time to tell folks how much they mean and to express gratitude. The longer I live, the more I appreciate how much better life is lived with a grateful heart. When we notice little beauties and small acts of kindness and acknowledge them, the seeds of gratitude are spread and watered. Even things not said directly - a smile, a nod of the head, thumbs up. We all benefit from gratitude. Showing it and receiving it. Saying thank you and showing appreciation.
All flowers are beautiful. Roses, cactus, daisies... "the earth laughs in flowers." good night.

Thank you, dear Rosevalley for enriching my life through generosity, love, gratitude and honest exploration of your life!
You are my teacher in the best spiritual sense - not cramming in facts, but waking me continuously to the variety and preciousness of life.
You've shown me your world, one I could only imagine, and brought it alive - allowing me to be a fuller human being.
How very wonder full!
Loving you this morning, Stephanie
This is a photograph of the blooming butterfly bush. The spires of white flowers all point toward the crescent moon in the blue sky, but my camera couldn't capture that. Who has ever captured the moon? Yet the bush while standing still brings butterflies, bees and buzzing pollinators to feed on its rich nectar. I so wish I could send you the scent!

I didn't take any pictures of food, but here is a good shot of Mount Rushmore. Very impressive!
-
I came across a family of chipmunks while on a walk. They must have been used to people because they let me get up close.
-
That little ground squirrel is so cute. They will get into everything when you camp.
Woo Hoo I get Taxol tomorrow. Yay... I am ready to feel better. Can't wait. I will get labs and the infusion. Not looking forwrd to being bald and looking like Uncle Fester... but if I feel better then do it. Wish me luck. Blessings to all.
-
I'm so happy for you Rose. I know the thought of iv chemo is scary but your love for your daughter is the driving force. You will rock the aunt fester look that we all know and dread.
-
So happy that you have another treatment to try.
All good wishes that it's good for your survival and really bad for the cancer's survival!
love, listening and luck...tons of all! ~ Stephanie

Hoping and praying that taxol gives you relief quickly.
-
Rosevalley: you are such a brave fighter. Hope you get relief from Taxol soon. Don't worry about how you will look under the chemo effect. You are just beautiful beyond words can describe, it shows in your love for your family!
-
I hope that Taxol gives you great relief.
Here's some flowers from our walk yesterday evening.
S'more helped pick out flowers for you.
Sending light and love,
Madelyn (and S'more).

Remembering you today, dear Rosevalley!
Here's the view from my hammock - reaching through the black and English walnut trees to the clear blue heavens.
So much beauty and love along with the suffering.
Loving kindness for you, Rosevalley, Stephanie

Well the Taxol went down without a hitch. No issues. I got the premeds benadryl and steroids and pepcid. I feel groggy and sleepy but otherwise ok. I have been careful about what I eat/drink tea, clear boosts, crackers, biscuit. So far no NV today. I am feeling hopeful about what others have shared about their palliative Taxol doses. Fingers crossed they work for me. Thank you for all your support and well wishes. Now we wait and see if it works. My onc thinks it will. Pray it does.

Will do!
