My (perhaps controversial) thoughts as a "newbie" to CA.

Here's my new headgear that I'll be wearing as I putter around on my new mower Sporty. The John Deere dealership had a BC fundraiser for one of their employees and they had a few hats left over!
-
Cute hat, Lori
-
Love the hat,Lori!
-
Thank you girls! I love it!
I had an appointment with my PS this morning and he was amazed of how fast my skin had healed. He said I could have my TE exchange the first of July. It's been a very, very long year for me so I'm putting exchange surgery off until Fall. That will give me 6 months away from tests, pokes and prodding! I need to rest and heal before needing to heal from another step in this BC journey.

Good decision, Lori. Give yourself a nice summer with your critters, your hubby, and your new cap! The rest can wait. I can imagine you are POOPED when I think of how only one percent of what you've gone through did I go through (no chemo). So you are being wise...
And I'll bet your furred and feathered friends are celebrating today! Wonder how many babies you will have out there when they all deliver??? A TON!!
-
Trill, I can only imagine how many babies will show up allat once. I'm sure you are right A TON!!
Speaking of babies...these are Mama and Papa #2's babies. I haven't seen Mama and Papa #1 bring their babies over to visit. Mama and Papa #3 eggs haven't hatched yet. Any day now I think we'll be seeing them and baby wood ducks on the pond soon
-
Lori, I just wanna reach into your picture and grab up one of those little fluffy duckies.....!!! How can you resist? (But maybe you aren't!)
Tomorrow I get to see a few hours of April the giraffe and her boy calf--they're gonna show from 4-8 pm. live video of them...maybe they'll be outside?! Such great weather for them to be out of that stall--they must be sick of it....
Your guys have found such a wonderful place to be! Have you ever actually counted how many total there might be? And when's the album gonna be published? LOL
-
Trill, I'm not allowed to get close enough to scup up a baby. Papa #2 is overly protective, silly goose attacked my car when I stopped to take the picture!
-
I've heard geese can be incredible watch dogs!!! they can be fierce....
-
They sure can! Papa Goose #2 ran his beak into the side of my car lol
When I mowed the stretch of yard by the geese's nest they didn't come after me as usual. Kinda missed the laughter I get from them.
Speaking of laughter. Here's a funny a friend sent to me...

Oh, hahhahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahah!!!
I was reading/catching up on emails just now--have a damned dentist appt later this morning, ugh, and was so happy to get this from you--it made me laugh out loud! I would have given the kid 100% also!!!!
-
I had a very strange visitor yesterday afternoon. I'm not sure what brought her out during the day but she's fat and healthy so it's not sickness that brought her out. Hhhmmm
The young raccoon is still hanging around during the day. He's gotten quite fat and healthy looking. I had to stop feeding marshmallows to my buddies last night as they were fighting and I wasn't getting in the middle of that mess. I told them that they were in timeout until further notice!
-
You DO have a brood! Someone new every day!
OK, when are the 'smores starting? It's almost summer!
Have you done any outdoor grilling?
-
Lori - Thanks for the laugh. I think maybe Ms.Opossum came by during the day due to being either a hungry mama or mama-to-be. What fun to see so many creatures - thanks for sharing your pics. We saw a baby rabbit & presumably its Mom in our backyard today - too cute.
-
I've done some grilling all winter long. We had some pretty warm winter days so I grill every chance I get. Coming from Texas where we can grill 365 days a year it's nice to grill as much as possible.
-
And I bet those critters smell your grilling and say,"Hey, she's sending up smoke signals again! Food is on the way!!"
-
That's how this all began?! They saw my smoke signals!
Feeling down and out of sorts today. I hate cold and rainy days after being out in the sunshine for weeks. Boogers!
-
Lori - Take a look at some of the posts over on Topic: Thin Slices of Joy - Think you will find a "lift" for your spirits.
-
Thank you Celia, I just added it to my favorites. I'll start reading during my "down time"
But... shortly after dragging myself out of bed... I've removed everything from our "movie/music room" vacuumed, removed all of the spiders and their webs, washed all the dust off of the furniture, musical instruments, tv yada yada yada. It took me about 2.5hours but I feel useful and in a much better state of mind. I even have dinner ready hours ahead of time. I'm actually scaring myself! 😳😳
-
Wow, Lori! I'd have to take a nap after all that cleaning and cooking! But it is funny how that can make you feel better. It is cool and rainy here today and is supposed to continue into Saturday, so I think I may do some Spring cleaning, too. Thanks again for sharing the photos of your critters! They are all so cute!
-
Lori--- I know what you mean about being down on dreary days. I keep telling myself then to get busy--it will get my mind off the weather.....good idea! Sometimes I heed this voice and other times I just prefer to bitch and moan.
Congratulations! Glad you got all that done!
I know your critters were equally sad to have you house-bound! I'm sure they poke their heads out and see when you are there and busy--guaranteeing them goodies. Am I wrong?
-
DisneyGirl, I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open at this time lol
-
Lori - At work, so dreary not such a big deal today. Am doing some very menial work & listening to lovely blend of classical music - Blue Danube Waltz playing now, so the day is going by. Have aromatherapy class to look forward to this evening - always good for a lift & stress relief.
-
Lori, thanks for the laugh!
-
Molly, I'm glad I was able to make you laugh. Prayers for beautiful Wyatt.
This little punk comes around early every evening so he can snag some bird food! I gave him a good talking to and he growled right back at me! Can you believe that?!
Here he's chattering at me.
Here he's growling at me! He even has the bird suet on his paws! Sneaky little trash panda!
-
I was taking the cover off of the pool yesterday and all of a sudden something jumped on my face!!! My poor DH was rolling with laughter! All I know is I had some kind of aliens stuck to my face and I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off! When I finally stopped screaming and running I realized it was these two guys!
I rescued this one out of the pool when he fell in. He's clinging to my thumb for dear life!
They come in a variety of colors lo
-
O Lori--what a fun time you had! I would have given anything to have had two toads running around on my face yesterday--instead here I am waiting for Apple to get back to me about my hopefully temporarily down computer so am on the old guy…..what a pain! It's nice outside and the windows are open and miss panty is on the sill, asking me why I'm so blue….I'll be Ok--just need to get the 'outer back to normal!
Love the photos!
-
Trill, I'm praying those techies show up soon and get you back up and going ASAP!
-
I'm sitting in my rocker drinking my coffee on the back deck and I keep seeing something flicker out of the corner of my eye but when I focus on it there's nothing there! So I start a stare down, it's on! Just after a minute or two I see these looong white paws and legs stretch out from a planter box I have up ended on the deck that's not planted yet. It's Bob The Cat (stray that adopted me)! He's sleeping in my planter box and all I can see is one paw and the tip of his grey tail. Too funny!
I snuck around and got a picture. If he knew I was there he would have ran off.
He'll let me get about 10" away from him now but I want to pet him!
-
Such a cute photo...
Well, I do have my computer back after many hours...am tired of fooling with techie stuff!
You know, I read a report last week talking about how cats love boxes and little things to get into. Panty tried to get inside an empty raisin box the other day! It was hysterical! They say it gives them a sense of security, which makes perfect sense. We human do the same--jump inside our TVS and devices!
They even just DREW a square or taped a square with masking tape on the floor to test this and lo and behold the kitty went and sat in it!!
So Mr Bob has the right idea!
