DisneyGirl- thanks for the tip...will check out Fiona....
I tuned in today at four and watched them come out and say goodbye and wave--then off went the camera...boo hoo....I hope they get a yard cam going!
-
Trill, Here is a link to Fiona's blog that contains some pictures and videos.

And here is the link to the zoo's Facebook page -

They also have Malaysian tiger cubs that were born earlier this year that they have pictures and videos of on their page.
-
Thanks, DisneyGirl! Will check these out....

Good morning!
DRUM ROLL PLEASE.... we have 6 new baby goslings this morning! I'll send a better picture once Mama and Papa Goose brings them closer to the house. So fuzzy cute!
-
Lori-- So happy for you....just what you needed: a bigger menagerie! Or should I say a bigger ark?
-
Trill, I sure do! What's the line in Jaws? "I need a bigger boat!" 😂
I put in 4 hours on my straw bale garden today. Yeap, I over did it! I had to realign my soaker hoses as some critters think my bales are monkey bars or something?! I got my first 10 bales planted and I'm hoping to get another 10 planted tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed I can move in the morning!
Hugs to All 🤗🤗
-
Lori-- Good luck with your straw bale gardening...am not sure exactly what that is but I wish you the best with it! And hope you are not too sore when you get up tomorrow! t
-
Trill, instead of planting my veggies in the ground I'm planting them in straw bales. No crawling around on my knees pulling weeds for this kid! It's my first try so I'm praying it works lol
-
I've been seeing this lonely goose on our pond for the past week or so. The buzzards were circling near the road so I thought he had lost his mate but when I checked there was no goose in the road. I decided I'd take a walk around the pond as I was already halfway there. As I walked by the nest to see if all Mama's eggs hatched there was a Mama on the nest. He's not a lonely old goose! He's nervously awaiting for his children to hatch! We've never had 2 pair of geese lay on our pond so this was surprising. We also have a pair of wood ducks that made a nest in one of the rotten trees by the pond. A very successful hatching this year I hope! So exciting! lol
I got to see all of Mama Possum's babies last night! She had eaten some chicken grease and when she leaned back to clean herself her pouch popped open and there were all her adorable kiddos. Of course when I got my camera she moved! Her tummy drags on the ground. Poor thing!
-
She's adorable!! I love her paws.
-
Lori--- I love your critter stories! Now that April the giraffe's had her calf and is off-line for daily viewing--I really enjoyed checking in with the two of them and sorely miss it---I'm "critter free" as it were. Your story of the goose on the nest was so sweet but topping that is mamma possum and her dragging belly....!!!
I really am excited for you that you have this neat hay bale garden set up! Recall my 2700 block set-up I did back in December? That was the hardest part--getting down on the floor....up and down, up and down....and bending over got old....so I can appreciate how this new method will make things far easier for you. So good luck with it! And love the photo!
-
Lori, what a great farm you have! I love the straw bale garden! I can't wait to hear how it turns out. And all of the new babies you have. How fun! It sounds like a great place to live.
Trill, I am also missing watching April and her baby. I read that they are going to have the camera on every Tuesday from 4-8pm until they get a camera set up outside. Here is a link to today's video - -
Hi DisneyGirl-- This afternoon I just by habit clicked my bookmark for April--not even thinking about it--and was delighted to see a four-minute video of her and baby! Wow....he is getting big! Am so glad there will be a time to watch them--and maybe one day to see them outdoors in the yard...
It's funny how meaningful watching this became------I think I'm not alone in that. Things have been so depressing politically that I've even stopped posting to the left-leaning thread....I would stay up, watching April in one screen, the other thread and news on the other--and the hours would just go by like a breeze. But now that April is a mom again and doing well---I think she's lost a lot of that baby weight too--and I don't see any limping on that foot she turned--I kinda don't even want to go back to politics!! And get depressed all over again! It's just not worth it..... so now I'm back to reading and making failed nougat and playing with Miss Pantaloon...
Hope this finds you well!
Yay for Animal Adventure World! I think I have a crush on Jordan. Wonder what they will name the calf? I think Patches would be cute--for Jordan and family AND for how the spots look kinda like patches....Miss Panty agrees with me--that's her vote!
-
OMG! OMG! I actually got a picture of Mama Possum and one of her babies! What luck! Heeere they arrrre!
How cuuuuute!!!! I wanted to steal the baby so badly but I figured I'd get bit pretty badly lo
-
adorable baby possum! Lori your hay bale garden is fascinating. I can't wait to see the results.
-
Lori---How great is that? Wow, such a great photo--girl, you are talented!!! Love it! I take it you shot through a screen--I like the texture it gives it!
-
Trill, I did shoot through the screen. I've been watching her for a few weeks and every time I'd open the door she'd waddle off and I didn't want to take the chance of missing a picture of her tiny baby. It was so cute! I just wanted to pet it lol
-
Well, that photo's good enough to be your Christmas card!!! Don't know how you'd caption it but, hey, it almost doesn't need a caption...
-
If you choose not to have treatment I think you should at least consider local control with lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy (local radiation would decrease reoccurrence too but you could choose not to do it). Depending on the grade of your cancer it can grow to the outside and cause a local mess with weeping tissues - of course this is more common with grade 1 disease - grade 3 usually spreads first. You may live years without treatment so its something to think about.
Stupid disease!! Who knows what the future holds - you just want to look back on this moment in time and be confident that you made a choice that you are happy with!
-
Mama and Papa Goose #2 eggs hatched and they were wandering around. I can't believe how close they let me get to them. I took the lead by way back to the house and saw yet another Mama on the nest! That makes Mama and Papa Goose #3! I can't wait for the Wood Ducks to hatch!
-
That's supposed to say long way back to the house. Stupid spell check anyway!
-
What adorable goslings!
-
Hey, Lori, well, it's obvious, isn't it? The word's gotten around that your place is THE place to hang out---feast, have babies, raise babies, flirt--well, not in that order...but you name it and Lori's Place is IN with the IN crowd...(remember that song?)
-
I can't wait for the baby raccoons to show up! I haven't seen any fawn yet either 🤔
I'm patiently waiting for Mama Possum to come for dinner
-
so cute, I love the photos
-
I've noticed all the female raccoons have bulging tummies, it won't be long now 🤞
I checked my garden and I already have some plants poking their little heads up out of the dirt! I have baby radishes, romane and carrots. We had storms move through a little while ago and all the potting mix and seeds are still on top of the bales and have not beenwashed off onto the ground. I have a lot of mushrooms growing and mold forming. Everything looks great so far! 🤞🤞
-
Lori--- Get that salad dressing ready--I'm on my way!
-
Trill, the door is always open and our guest room is always ready! Come on over!
-
Lori, thanks for tossing down the Welcome mat! I'm there with your busy hay bales--at least in spirit! Growing season is definitely upon us. I think it's supposed to hit 90 here in Baltimore today---yikes!!
-
Trill, that's pretty hot for April in Boston isn't it? It's been cooler than normal here and we're getting a lot of rain.
