I have a chewer in Stevie. She's destroyed a lot of stuff with her chewing and she and Annie both have shredded the snot out of stuff.

We had a kitten named Ringo who sucked on our daughter's nightgown (only there, thank goodness). He loved the car and he was on top when we started driving to work. When we stopped for the light he jumped down and ran off. Months later, my husband came home with a huge black cat he thought was Ringo. Sure enough, he sucked on our daughter's nightgown. The next day my husband took him back where he found him. He was in great shape and clearly someone's beloved pet.

Grace is finally starting to tolerate Nugget. The last week she has been sort of playing with him. She gets down on the floor and either charges at him or waits for him to come over and kind of leaps at him.
-
Oh my goodness, Petite! Glad Midnight Louie is ok that is scary.

Wren44: Thank you for your encouragement. We think Miss Daisy is 18 months old as she was left on someones doorstep last year. We adopted her from the wonderful people who found her but already had 4 cats. She had sub Q fluids for 3 weeks and the vet thought that would help so my wonderful daughter in law who is an BSN will help me administer fluids 2 x a week. You would never know she is sick as she is loving and happy. She give me kisses all day long. These cats are so helpful in our lives. During my cancer journey my husband decided to have a heart attack {mild} and ended with stents. I swear Miss Daisy knew and she was on his lap all day after he came home from the hospital. Its so weird to talk about this as my husband and I are so healthy and do everything we can to stay that way. Genetics are a huge part in our lives. I have a big family history of breast cancer and my husband has coronary artery disease. Even though we do all we can we were still affected by the genetics. That being said we are doing very well.

I have a question for you feline experts here. Our Sheila is a scaredy-cat, and she typically hides out on the floor in the kitchen cabinet during thunderstorms and heavy rains. We'll typically put a nice soft blanket in there so she's comfortable when she's hiding out. The problem is stays in there constantly........literally only coming out to eat and visit the litter box and then she's immediately back into closet. We pull the blanket once the storms are over, but she checks the closet at least once a day hoping against hope the blanket has somehow magically appeared again. (Note: she has cat beds all over the house and uses them throughout the day -- typically following the sun around the house and sleeping in the bed that allows her the most sun).
We hate to deny her the happiness she obviously gets from the closet, but part of having a cat is having a feline companion, and having a cat that just hangs out in the closet is like not even having a cat. Should we leave the blanket in the closet all the time or just during storms?
-
BLMike, Midnight Louie is the same way, but hides in the boxsprings. He comes out once a storm is over. It was all storms, but now it is only loud thunder that sends him hiding. Maybe Sheila will be able to tolerate it as she gets older. Louie is 5 years.
edj3, OMG. Louie shreds stuff, but with his claws.
quinnie, Miss Daisy sounds like a special cat.
-
BLMike, I would try to make the closet inaccessible except during storms. Our cat likes to hang out in closets, but comes out to lay in front of the computer and get scritchs. It might help to know how old she is.
-
Sheila is 12. She's very set in her ways. She meets me every morning when I come down stairs: the only time she takes initiative to interact with the humans. She sleeps in the same beds at the same time every day. She plays with a piece of Velcro every night leaving it by her food dish for me to move in the morning. She loves that closet but it really encourages her anti-social behavior which we don't want to do (but we don't like denying her happiness either).
-
Can you make her an enclosed fort somewhere nearer to the action?
-
santabarbarian -- That's an interesting and creative idea. Most of our activity is in the kitchen, and the family room is just off there. Although she has multiple beds in both the kitchen and the family room, maybe she'd prefer a little kitty fort in the family room. Thanks.

BLK. look into cat yurts or caves. They are made to satisfy a cat's need to feel safe and secure. Places to find them are Amazon, pet stores, Etsy.
-
There's a gizmo that's made of felted wool and looks like a ball with a hole close to the top. A lot of shelter cats went into those and it took a long time to coax they out. So beware. On the other hand, you could pick it up with the cat inside and put it right next to you on the sofa.
-
Good morning, cat lovers. Yesterday was my birthday and Midnight Louie was terrified of a birthday balloon my husband got me. Miss Felix likes the balloon. LOL
-
Belated happy birthday, petite one.
We had a cat who loved the mylar balloons my children would get. She would take the string in her mouth and take the balloon all over the house. It was fun to see her launch from a chair to reclaim the string of the balloon that had risen to the ceiling.
-
Happy Birthday Petite

-
Happy Birthday! Perhaps Midnight Louie will let Ms Felix alone if she has the balloon. I can see her becoming quite fond of it.
-
Happy Belated Birthday, Petite! Sorry Midnight Louie didn't care for your balloon but glad Ms Felix enjoyed.
-
Chiming in with belated birthday wishes!
-
Thank you. The balloon has become The Defender for Miss Felix. It is peaceful in this house. LOL

Elliott reflecting.

Those are great photos!
-
Those are lovely FF - and wonderful subjects, too!
-
Wonderful, FF
Louie is no longer afraid of the balloon.
-
What is the surface Elliott is reflecting in? Glass? An amazing shot with no reflection of the camera.
-
Nugget and Princess have gotten to the point if I’m crocheting, they like to nap near me on my recliner. Grace is even getting more comfortable around Nugget. She likes to charge him or wait until he charges her to retaliate!
-
Wren we have a glass kitchen table, I was just lucky to spot the reflection as I had given him a few dentalife treats on the surface.
-
Good morning, cat lovers. Since Midnight Louie is no longer afraid of the balloon, they are back to fighting or playing. The peace was so nice.
-
Yesterday I felt pretty crummy from my second dose of the coronavirus vaccine so I napped off and on--plastered with very comforting kitties.
