Yes. Black Tip Sphynx. I named her Duchess Rue because she has freckles like The former Duchess of Sussex.

Love these kitties! My daughter has 2 of them which is how I fell in love with this breed. Exactly as you describe above. My Rue has a great personality and loves everyone that visits.

I don't know if you are going to find homes for the kittens, but we were able to find homes for ours once we had them spayed and neutered - in case that helps any! Bless you for helping her!! Our little feral hisses at me too - funny, keeping that litter box clean!!

Our tomcat showed up this weekend trying to mate - I'm going to get him to the humane society and have him fixed, if he is ever around when I make an appointment! I smile, knowing no more babies!! Kittens, they are a ray of sunshine for sure!

Good morning. It warm and sunny, but the cats just want to stay in the bed. Midnight Louie enjoyed the Superbowl, especially the tidbits of food dropped on the floor. Miss Felix didn't want to watch. LOL

Thank you, feelingfeline - I love your name! That is Gatsby, who loves to sleep (and talk). He wandered into my husband's work as a kitten. Rah, I can totally relate. My husband worked on tearing the carpet out of one of the bedrooms yesterday (the one the kittens were in) and installing those flooring planks. He says - the things I do for these cats! Years ago, when our siamese kitty was sick, the carpet pretty much was shot and for various reasons is now gone.

Nice the kitties are warm and sunny - we have warm and sunny today, but snow is coming, so they say!

Both my girls knew I was down with a cold this last weekend. Grace laid on my lap for quite a bit. When I napped to try to kick this cold, Princess laid next to me on the bed.

Rah, one more thing I thought of, the Cat House on the Kings on Facebook told me of a website, https://rehome.adoptapet.com/, to list kittens. We did give one away this way. Careful still though, one lady wanted me to drive to Tulsa, and we didn't do that. Just trying to help a little, hope you don't mind.

Mommyof 2 - our pets are the best when we are sick. Hugs, hope you feel better.

Kittens are seasonal. Mom cats wait until the kittens can be born when it's warm. Kittens this early will be very early in the season when lots of people are looking for kittens. We're getting people at the shelter now looking for kittens. I think the youngest we've had were 6 mos old. At that point they look more grown than not. Missouri Cat Lady, yours were unluckily at the end of kitten season so harder to find homes. Our shelter has a low cost spay and neuter clinic. If you live in a large enough place there might be one near you. We took one look at the prices and had ours fixed there. Kittens at our shelter are gone within 2-3 days. They put them out front where people can fall in love before they see any other cats.

Thank you, Wren, for explaining that, I didn't know. We had a hard time finding homes, I put up flyers and posted pictures and nothing happened. People told me horror stories about "free kitten" ads I never wanted to know about. It wasn't until they were fixed that good homes wanted them. Ours were fixed at the humane society, and yes, they put their kittens out front too. I am so glad you have such a good shelter in your area!!! You are wonderful to help foster and support them, thank you.

We are going into the deep freeze tonight and I hope our little momma kitty's heating pad continues to work inside that dog house. She has become our resident outdoor cat (that still runs away if you come near her).

The girls have been so full of energy the last two days that they have been chasing and wrestling each other. When they chase each other, it sounds like a herd of elephants in my house.

M0mmyof2, I know what you mean. When I was recovering from surgery, my babies were there for me and very concerned. They sense when you don't feel good.

You guys, I'm struggling with a tremendous amount of guilt--we are going to Nashville next Friday to meet our newest granddaughter and see our older son and his wife.

But our cat sitter isn't available, nor are any of her back up cat sitters (she runs her business really, really well and has never not been able to book us in). So we have to board the cats at our vets and both of them turn into screaming monsters there, they are so afraid.

My heart breaks for them, and honestly for us when we return and get them that following Tuesday. They're horrible even after they get home, they smell the vet on themselves and hiss and spat like crazy.

The only upside is we will get all medical stuff done over that weekend, they both always have to be sedated so we may as well fork over lots of cash in one nasty visit and get it all done.

Edited to add, these kitties are super sweet with us but NOT with others so having a friend drop in isn't an option.

If they have to stay at the vet's, doing all the necessary work at the same time is a good idea. Otherwise they'll be scared again when they have to go in for that. Getting a Feliway spray and putting it on their toys to take with them and perhaps a blanket from home might help. Poor guys. We took our dog to the vet one time and he was concerned that the dog was anemic because her gums were so pale. So when I got home, I was showing DH and her gums were completely normal. That's how scared she was.

Aww, so sorry edj3! It’s so hard to leave them knowing how miserable they get. But, you are right.....silver lining is they don’t have to go back for vaccines.

They hate, hate, hate Feliway which was a real disappointment. I'd hoped it would work a miracle.

Now in my kitties' defense, I will say that these two boys have been through a flood with us--I'm talking we lost nearly all our furniture, clothing, etc. They (and I) were at home when the water came and they have never been the same. I truly believe they have kitty PTSD.

How long will you actually be gone? Is there a neighbor who could just slip into your house, feed them and clean their boxes, and then leave? That way, they can just stay at home and they would have each other for company. Years ago, we had a cat who was absolutely destroyed any time she was taken out of the house. We went away for 5 days and left a couple of huge bowls of dry food and a couple of the disposable litter pans for her, and she was fine. She ate, pooped, peed, and probably didn't care if we were even gone. It was so much less traumatic for her. I wouldn't hesitate to do that again if I had to.
