Thinking of Beppy today...I opened my cabinet and there was a Birthday Mug I received 2 years ago on my 80th birthday delivered with flowers and a balloon in the mug....there it was right in front of me..I think I might have a cup of tea today in the mug to celebrate my birthday with her once again.....
-
Happy Birthday Ducky!
-
I will join you in a virtual cup of tea for Beppy, Ducky! Sending hugs....

Grateful for Beppy who started this thread so I could realize I am not alone in the struggle to stay sane . . . in the past month my 38 year old nephew accidentally poisoned himself with lye (miracle boy after a week in ICU totally recovered?! Even doctors can't believe it). Now my brother is having a terrifying reaction to his schizophrenia shots. He has mosaic down syndrome also, I am so tired to begging people to help my brother. I am finally getting more assertive with my husband, he can either be more supportive and contributing to this situation or if he can't handle it, get out of the kitchen. Not going to try to protect him anymore while I struggle and suffer trying to get him situated. FOUR years of this awful battle and I am exhausted. My brother is staying with us for now. Waiting on Catscan results and I have to collect 5 stool samples. Lordy, don't they know I could barely handle changing my children's diapers when they were young? Anyhow, I find myself trying not to worry just as if I were waiting on my own test results. He has lost 40 pounds in just a few weeks (he is still about 80 pounds over a healthy weight, so I guess it's not time to panic yet). Twitches, sweating, fast breathing, moving in slow motion. Of course the mental health agency is trying to say it has nothing to do with his medication. RIGHT. CYA, I can spot it a mile away now.

eggroll, hope you can resolve some of this
40 pounds is a lot to have lost even for a man
Ok finally found a manual in the glove co partment of spiffy new car, am pathetic with new gizmos

Happy birthday, Ducky! Let's have a virtual tea party to celebrate you and remember our Beppy.

Ducky ..Hope you have a wonderful birthday !
Eggroll..It must be such a worry over your brother ..I hope they can sort the medical issues out quickly . He is very lucky to have you as a sister .
We are driving to Hubby's parents house at the moment ..His Mum tripped and broke her collar bone two days ago ..We spent yesterday cooking all day to make them meals they can freeze and just bring out to try to make things a bit easier for them ..

In re. a cup of tea for our Beppy: heck, I'll show up with a variable-temperature electric kettle, teapots of varying sizes, a selection of teas (herbal, green, oolongs, blacks, flavored), cups in a range of sizes from Amazon to dainty/plain to floral, lemon, milk...and a selection of teacakes and dainty sandwiches. Sweet, savory, dainty, hearty--there's something here for everyone.
-
I will brew a pot of heart-shaped tea bundles.
-
ChiSandy: a heart-shaped bundle for those who've 'moved on' and one for those who would be with us in person. All welcome.

-
I'll bring some cucumber sandwichs with dill. They are wonderful

Sigh...my sister's illness taking a turn for the worse again; she ended up in ER last night, AGAIN, and all I've heard thus far is that they still can't figure out what is wrong, although her symptoms are very concerning....I went to visit her Friday and she seemed a bit better though still not completely well. I am very worried about her.
Another sister's son is getting married in a big wedding in the City (San Francisco) weekend after next, with family coming from all over the country and the world, and it makes me very sad to think that sister number one might not be well enough to attend even though she lives nearby. I don't even think she has had time or energy to shop for a dress, and she's lost enough weight that it might be necessary to do so. A third sister and I were even talking about taking her shopping this weekend.
The sister whose son is getting married has had a tough year (her husband died last fall), as had the sister who is sick (her son died a few months ago), and the whole time has been very tough on the entire family...
I have been so happily looking forward to seeing all the family at a happy occasion as opposed to at a funeral :-( and I am so excited that I will be seeing my daughter and SIL, my grandkids, son, son's GF, nephew and wife who live oversees, and everyone else all at the same time at the wedding festivities...and I was soooo excited because it is a formal wedding, I don't own many formal clothes, but I tried on the dress I wore to my daughter's wedding ten years ago and it still fits perfectly (WOOHOO!) So all was good and hubby and i got to have a weekend in the City to boot...
now I am just worried as to whether sister number one will be well enough to attend. I know the bride and groom will really want her there too. I am so worried about her. Cried myself to sleep last night for the first time in a long time. Gabe held my hand, and so did hubby of course, but I am still worried. At least I got to sleep. On top of it all, this is one of the busiest weeks of the year at work for me, with a big three day event starting this afternoon, that I am in charge of. and check ups with my MO and with my opthamologist next week before hubby and I head out for our three day weekend wedding extravaganza.
So.....pretty crazy here. Can the other crazies keep me in the light and send prayers? Thanks all!
Love you all;
Octogirl

Praying for you, your sister and your whole family Octogirl. I pray they find answers for your sister or that God miraculously heals her. Huge hugs.
-
Octogirl, you and all of your family have my prayers and healing hugs. God works in amazing ways and I pray He wraps His arms around your Sister and heals her completely. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
-
(nibbling on one of WenchLori's cucumber sandwiches)
But more seriously: Octogirl: we fold you into our hearts and our arms. I'm hoping (and I (clears throat) assume many on CrazyTown are as well) that your family will be able to celebrate that wedding.
Myself, staying out of CrazyTown by discussing a possible Comp.Sci. major at Local Community College with my current computer teacher. He only spluttered for twenty seconds this time, so I think he's at least considering it.
-
Octo, saying a Mi Sheberach tonight for your sister, and holding you close to my heart.
-
I am hoping your entire family will be celebrating with the bride and groom.
-
thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers, crazies...it really helps. the good and bad news, i suppose, is that she has been admitted to the hospital, where they can run some tests and try and get to the bottom of her issues. Trying to deal with it in the ER doesn't make sense. My work event today went reasonably well, but my heart wasn't in it. Will keep you all posted.
