(rocking on the porch with a gin-and-tonic made with Botanic gin) Welcome all, I've got the rockers out and this season's cushions installed. The dark safe place under the porch is swept, and we'll pass you snacks until you feel up to company. Treehouse same, with the block and tackle installed to haul up picnic baskets.
RobinLK: good luck with the house!
Proudtospin: ten years old isn't too bad for a Toyota, though I'm not sure how the Prius compares to conventional gas-engine models. But I'm with you on the "I want the color that's on sale."
Molly: in sympathy about the depression! It's something I struggle with as well.
As for my Further Progress in Education, i'll make a case for a double major: Computer Science-Networking and Business, Computer Information Systems. There's a five-class overlap between the 'Networking" Comp.Sci. degree and the soon-to-be revamped "Computer Information Systems" track--that's a third of the requirements for the former, if the college allows me to place out of their general education requirements. (They will. i'll be firm with Mr. Business Advisor and Mr. Comp.Sci. Advisor.) I've already taken two in the Comp.Sci. sequence of my own free will. So so that's pretty much halfway there.
Not that I'm excited about this or anything.
-
yay Queenmomcat! You deserve to be excited, sounds like a plan!
-
duckyb, great picture! My rads place gave me hugs and a certificate.
-
hugs
-
Octo ..Here is a pic of Little Joe who is so excited that Gabe is coming with you ! Actually you've given me an idea ..I could take Little Joe to the airport with me to pick you up to make it easy for you to spot me ?? Surely I would be the only crazy old lady there hugging her teddy bear ? ! 🙂 ..
-
OhLittle Joe's a cutie like Gabe!!
-
Lucy/Octo: you two BETTER just BETTER post pictures of your teddies visiting with one another. Otherwise how will we on/in CrazyTown know that the visit took place?

Well think i will be buying new car, actually want to hit the dealer once more to test if i can get into the suv without trouble
Getting a nifty red one
-
home with fancy new car, wow as the other one lasted 10 years but feels nice to have something new
They asked me what color......i said anything but blue, tired of that
-
Congratulations on the new car, Iris
-
Ducky, great picture!
Iris, yay a new car! I told DH last week I want to sell my horse trailer and get me a new SUV. He said he wished he'd known that before he bought a new motorcycle. I told him I'll just take the bike! lol
Lucy and Octogirl, your buddies are so cute! I have a buddy that I take with me everywhere I go too! He's not a bear but he'll be going with me on our trip next year. My DH got him for me when I went through a major depression episode 30 years ago. He's gone with me for every surgery I've had in the past 30 years. He's seen better days and his head is in a weird position from the way I lovingly stash him under my left arm for comfort.
This is my buddy Elliott from Pete's Dragon.
Lucy, I've started to get our plans organized. DH didn't bat an eye when I told him how much the plane tickets will cost. He said it's just a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of all of my medical bills in the past year. Thank God we have great insurance! I need to find another place other than Figi to stop at. That's still a very long plane ride Any suggestions? I should have paid more attention in Geography class. I've decided Paris is out of the running, to many terrorist attacks there lately 😥
Hello and hugs to everyone on the porch today 👋
-
Iris ..Wow ..That was quick ..You have your new car already .! I love the smell of new cars (and the smell of babies too ! ) ..So you ended up with the red one ?
Octo ..Gabe is very cute ..When people see us at the airport with Gabe and Little Joe they will think you must of flown in for a very important International Teddy Bear Convention 😊
Ducky ..I love the photo of you ringing the bell. !!!
QMC ..You sound very busy , but it will all be so worth it in the end !
Molly hope you are feeling better. ?
Robin ..Hope all is going well for you with the house selling and buying ..Your new property sounds wonderful !
Mommy ..Hugs
Love to all ..
-
Lori ..Elliot is such a darling and has such a caring look on his face ..I love him .!!!.I know what you mean about Fiji not cutting much time off your trip ..Are Tahiti or Hawaii better options ? I didn't pay enough attention in geography either !!!
-
Now I want a stuffie!
As for education, I certainly hope it'll be worth it in the end! At the very least, I'll have caught up on thirty years worth of advances in computer technology. Phewph.
-
QMC, you deserve a very special stuffie 😍
Lucy, I'll have to check on Tahiti, Hawaii is a 13 hour plane ride aswe went there in 2003. We loved it!
-
Lori ..Both Hawaii and Tahiti are about a 9 hour flight to Brisbane ...
-
Lucy, that sounds like a plan! Tahiti it is!
-
yeap, guess i make decisions fast, sister thought it fast but i had been thinking about a new car for long time so it was easy to do the deal
Course it took me a while to find the gas gauge........but i did find the wipers!
-
congrats on the new car Iris!
Lori, don't know which way you will travel to get to Australia, but if I were already stopping at Fiji, I'd consider going through LAX and stopping also in New Zealand (and AIr New Zealand flies out of LAX and I've had good experiences with them, we will see how the next time goes. ) I haven't been to Tahiti, but it is expensive (more expensive than Hawaii I think) and the nice places are (I think) an additional puddle jump airplane ride. New Zealand is very different than Australia, much more so than I imagined it would be, so it is an interesting contrast. Many places there reminded me of some of the most beautiful spots in California, but with a lot less people. Of course, it is only just under four hours to Brisbane from Auckland.
So many places to see...
-
Congrats on the new car, Iris! Did you get another Prius or the SUV you mentioned?
-
Mind you, Lucy55/Octogirl, I expect more pictures than "just" the stuffies meeting in the airport.
Iris: congratulations on the new car, and on finding the wipers so swiftly.
-
Congrats on the car Iris!
I agree....many pics ladies!
Thank you for prayers. My house sold in 5 hours, but our offer was not accepted. They went with a different offer. Now I will be living in RV until we find something. Not sure what to do with cats. 2 cats and 2 dogs...one with high prey drive...will not be able to peacefully coexist in such a small space. I am stressed, but believe it just means the right home is still waiting to be found.
Love you all. Prayers, hugs, pocket parties....I will be right there for you all. Quietly but always reading along.
-
Robin, sorry your offer wasn't accepted. Five hours? You must live in a hot market.
Food porn for you all. I made this lemon bundt cake from scratch using a recipe off Pinterest. It's DELICIOUS!!
-
Robin ..So sorry your offer wasn't accepted..But you will find another home you like even more ..Gosh ..5 hours to sell a home is VERY fast. !!!
Molly ..That is serious food porn !!! It looks wonderful...
Lori ..Octo's idea of having a stop over in New Zealand is a great idea ..Like she says , New Zealand is totally different from Australia , so it could be a good chance experience it on the way as well .and break your trip ...I've only been to New Zealand's South Island , but it is very beautiful .....
Octo ..I have never heard the expression "puddle jump " before ..but I love it .!!!
-
Molly, good thing I’m full or else I’d have stuck my hand through the monitor and ripped off a hunk of that lemon bundt cake!
-
I got stuffies all over my living room on shelves. I'll take a picture of one of them
-
Octogirl and Lucy, hank you for the suggestions for NZ. I'll have to check it out too. So many decisions to make lol
-
I was able to see my pathology report online today. I see my surgeon May 4th to go over the results. It looks like nothing suspicious in the breast. Yay! It came out with a birads of 1 on the left, 2 on the right. I don't know what the lump was that I felt.
It does say that an ultrasound or MRI of the liver is recommended. There's a 1cm T2 hyperintense lesion within the right hepatic lobe, incompletely characterized on the current examination but is thought to be most likely the basis of a benign cyst or hemangioma.
I like the word benign. As much as I can google the words I'll wait until I see my surgeon to make sense of this, but I guess another test awaits me.
