45 min T @ 2.2 mph = 1.7 mi
going slow...trying for a little faster a little farther every day...maybe trying to do too much at once?...don't know how you ladies do it...I'm tired! Can I blame it on the rads? I've done 11/25!
Will keep plugging along...I think I can...I think I can...

thanks for the support everyone. Did two walk/hikes. Each about a mile. The second one was very hilly. Panting the whole way. Lots of stopping. Don't know if I could have made it without my brother. I told him I deserved s fucking trophy at the end. He agreed.
-
Awesome Katy! From starting at walking to the mailbox to going 2 miles today. Wow! You do deserve a trophy🏆🏆🏆...or three!

yup, this is how I go jogging...
-
You look like an awesome action hero! Possibly Suck Chemo and Die!! Girl.
-
love the glasses. I wear some that are similar when I ride my bike, they are the only ones that really block the wind and help with eye watering from Herceptin.
I didn't do crap tonight, too hot and muggy here in San Diego. And I hate it!
-
Littleblue, you look like a badass!!!! Love the outfit. Aren't you hot? I had to take my hat off om my walk, I was so hot. Only the second time I've done that and thankful that yet again, the sidewalk did not gobble me up when I did.
Katy, You have REALLY upped the walking! Wow! Congrats!
-
ummm.....littleblue....really cool outfit. But is this what you were wearing when the skateboarder unceremoniously bumped you off the road and the Nosy Parker was staring

Hi ladies! I'm going to try to join you. I haven't done much exercising yet, but went to the grocery store over the weekend to by healthy food and start being more mindful of my diet. I'm up 20 pounds since the start of chemo, and I'd like to lose it.
-
Awesome Jackbirdie! It is amazing how fast you are bouncing back!
It doesn't seem to get to hot...I wear the same thing if it's 50 or 100 out. It's an under hijab hood. Seems to work great! I could not go without a hat..no shade at all where I run and it's always over 90 by the time I'm offnwork.
-
welcome aboard, wpmoon. Mindfulness and the necessary supplies to support your efforts are a strong start.
-
Little... good god I would die of heat stroke in that hood.....LOL but I am sure where you are the heat index is not 110. Went to my gym last night. It was a Tabatta workout that almost killed me. Had to dump weight half way through it but got it done! Chemo really bites.. zapping my energy and strength really pisses me off....7 more to go............
-
Leigh- FYI, you are my new role model! You seem like you are winning and your level of commitment to your workouts is encouraging. I just thought you should know. Thank you!

I signed up for Yoga for chemo patients today and also made a weekly gentle yoga date with a pregnant friend. We figured we both have restrictions, so we will be quite a pair. So yoga twice a week is planned. Now to schedule weight training. I have found having a buddy keeps me from coming up with excuses.
Today:
Walked 30mins
I ate a greek yogurt and half a turkey sandwich. And some fennel, apple slaw.
Drank 70oz H2O
-
More time on the bike this afternoon, plus a good walk to/from my dinner meeting - and said dinner was mostly fresh fruits, vegetables and a couple oz. of meat. Lost track of H2O consumption sometime after 9 glasses... Had to miss yoga due to the dinner meeting, however, and I really needed that today.
Karabesque, I hope you enjoy your classes!

7/21:
- .5 hr T (2.5 MPH avg) + stretches
- (radiation #8)
- 2.0 hr T (2.0 MPH avg) + stretches TOTAL: 5.5 m

Remembering to put saline up my nose and applying coconut oil to my hide were my only activities yesterday after port removal. Today is a new day!
-
Yesterday, did a 2.5 mile walk and then a 3.5 mile walk. Today I probably will get an x-ray of my big, ugly, bruised up big toe. Think good thoughts that it is just bruised and not broken! If I don't get my daily walks, I'll go bat shit crazy!
-
Kbeee! Don't break self! Your poor toe!
-
Nada for me yesterday..... not sleeping is catching up with me and I just had zero energy!! Hope to get to the gym today.
Kara.... thank you for the kudos.... but I am not sure I deserve them.. LOL I am full on a Crossfit Kool -aid drinker and I am in love with it...but that being said this f'ing chemo is kicking my ass! LOL I used to go a minimum of 5 days a week.... now I am lucky if I make 2 or 3. My MO thinks that since I've continued to go even though sparsely that it will not take long to get back to my pre-chemo stamina so that is what I am hanging on to for dear life...LOL!!!
-
Visited elderly mum yesterday, so no real exercise. Though I did spend an hour with teenage son watching him try on and reject about a thousand pairs of sneakers. And spent most of that time walking around the shoe store (large, suburban) or bending and reaching to find shoes that fit him. Need to catch up on work today but hope to take a walk later on.
Good job to all of you who are logging real fitness time, and good luck to those who are making plans!
-
Yesterday I did an hour on the elliptical trainer. I've started taking my tablet and watching fun Netflix shows and it really makes the time go by fast!
-
I have looked and looked for any kind of yoga classes or groups in my area. Nothing. I'm thinking this might be good for me. I do not have a DVD player, but I was wondering if anyone knows how I might self guide without danger? Are there any TV yoga or YouTube? I'm grabbing at straws here I know.
Littleblue, how are you feeling? Much pain today???
-
Katy, if you have an iPhone or iPad, the Yoga Studio app is really awesome and I think costs $3.99. There are dozens of "classes" you can download of different lengths and ability types. When I had back trouble a few years ago I started doing the 30 minute relaxation one every day until I could handle more and it helped so much. There are shorter ones, too, I think starting at 10-15 minutes. Here is the link: http://yogastudioapp.com/
-
Katy, if you have Comcast and have OnDemand, they have a fitness channel. OR, you can go to this awesome lady's youtube channel:
-
Awesome Molly! I have all kinds of I-Things! Downlading now!
-
thanks Whitney! No Charter but will check out YouTube
-
Katy, see if you can find an adaptive yoga or yoga for cancer pts program on line/cable to start with. also, have you checked local hospitals/medical centers for classes? Mine requires a doctor's referral but said MD needn't be in network. classes are free and very supportive of the situations peculiar to those with cancer or other major health issues.
I hope you find something that really suits. That sounds like a good project for today.
-
there isn't even any regular yoga here, much less yoga for cancer patients. I think I will have to be satisfied with my limited cable and online. Thanks, Hopeful! It is a good project for today. Plus a walk!
