I am desperate... what is your recent experience with prolia

Special - thanks for posting. Als were not recommended for me, since I'm ER/PR negative. But the numbers were interesting. I was post menopausal going into chemo & numbers were OK. In 2014 after chemo did a number on my bones, my average went down to -2.1. While my average is still -2.1 a year later in 2015, the femoral neck is down to -2.6. Doc told me that -2.5 was the crossover from osteopenia to osteoporosis. And also that is the place that most commonly breaks when there is a hip fracture. Yuck.

Kathy, thanks for the info on bone density and prunes, love it. Now to get my body to love it, I will make a better effort. In the meantime, the article I read was from the NIH. So will keep hunting. Thanks

I don't get my prolia in my arms (one had LE, other at risk). I get it in my belly.

Thanks lago.

So I had my first Prolia shot in July 2016. I'll have the 2nd one in January 2017. Shot given in my tummy. No side effects. My doc insists on full blood work first & that includes D-3, which the MO follow up doesn't usually include.
Anybody having any problems? Stopped taking it? Seen some beneficial changes? Thanks

I started in July too. Had increased pain in the feet in the morning that gradually subsided and a month later I was back to pre-Prolia self.
-
just got my 4th shot last week, no side effects. I was super scared, cause i have bad teeth and jaw issues, but so far so good!
-
I am still on it - no problems at all, and it took about 18 months to see an increase in density. I am due for a DEXA in Jan 2017
-
Thanks everyone for your updates.

About to get my 4th shot. No increase in density in my spine (lost a tiny amount so they say no change). My osteopenic hip seems to be improving.
I have had no issues with the 1st three. I don't expect any change next month
-
lago - thanks for the review. Maybe it will work the same way for me since it's my hip that needs help. I will get my second shot in January

waiting for dexascan will hope to see improvement.? Se Dr in December
