Starting Chemo March 2015

So I called the vet and Tutti did fine in surgery and is still pretty sleepy. She said they have a little blanket on her. And said they all think she is so cute. Sigh of relief. She has to stay overnight, so Jack and I will have a stag night, just like old times
-
Allison - kids are invited. One of the rooms has 2 sets of bunk beds and a dresser full of kid friendly vhs tapes - cause we are old school (ok, they came w the house).
Katy my pool is cold now, in March BRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I need to get a cover...
-
BBC I'm glad you have seen someone about it. We will be here to help you through it xxx and skyping sounds like a great idea.
The spider is a huntsman. They can get big but they're harmless.
Yes katy, I got all emotional too when we chatted. And I still do. How's tutti doing?
I went back to work yesterday, just for 4 hours. It went well. The first bit was the hardest as everyone swooped on me! I don't like to be the centre of attention so it was overwhelming.
Eileen I can't wait to see your place. Sounds beautiful. And snow! It's been a very long time since I have seen any.
March isn't that far away. Best I get saving. It's getting exciting
-
Sharon it tickles me that you are coming from so far away! Glad your first day of work went well.
-
Silly rant time! Has anyone else seen the TV commercial for Nuelasta? It makes me insane. The lady is all happy about how great her blood tests were during chemo. Ugh. Hate it.
-
Not a silly rant. Just more disgusting marketing putting a happy face on bc. Worse than Viagra! Makes me wanna puke.
-
Small milestone: I'm about to trim off the last of my Taxotere rings.
The nailbed is still lumpy, but the deep grooves are about to be gone for good.
-
On a happier note, I decided to report in on lashes and brows. Have some. Not much. But much better.
-
Lee- that IS A MILESTONE!!!! Yay! I still have some ridges and discoloration, but none came off. Very grateful for that
-
I posted my eyebrows on Facebook, but for the ladies not on there, here they are. After plucking like crazy.
They had almost disappeared a month and a half ago.
-
after some rest! You all are rocking some lashes and hair!
-
So much hair and nail growth! FWIW, my toenails are still pretty flaky, so my ND recommended eating grass-fed beef gelatin. I will let you know how that goes.
-
Bamboo I have that same bandanna! We have excellent taste!
-
Ks- you might look into bone broth. It's my understanding that one of the purposes of so much "bones" is the gelatin in them, which the consumer of the broth benefits from. Might be a pleasant way to get it in there as it starts to cool.
-
The little ones chewed on the bones-o, bones-o, bones-o,
They'd never had such a supper in their life,
And the little ones chewed on the bones-o.
-
jonesing for bonzies
-
littleblue I agree!
-
I'm jealous of Lee and Theresa! But there is hope for me
-
BB, I have had both a colonoscopy and endoscopy. The prep is... Wel... A pain in the ass... But the procedures are a piece of cake
-
I will give you my face and leg and toe hair. Dark black, grows overnight. Seriously, almost have to shave my legs everyday. I'm like Sloth, my eyebrows are trying to grow up to my hairline. And some on my eyelids.
Oh and yeah, butt crack hair also out of control. And gonna need a waxing in the frontal area. Guess I can grow hair. Hell, guess I am heading over to monkey land!
-
Finally, the anal waxing starts to make sense! !!!!
-
and here we are, back to anal waxing! Hopefully if I go there I won't get stuck to anything!
-
So I had been assuming I had hemorrhoids from constipation. Is there a reason to be more concerned because there is no pain and bright red blood? I go tomorrow but was just wondering if there was more concern from lack of pain? Edited to add I am no longer having the constipation(tmi sorry) but still bleeding. Just kind of thought that was a left over from what I called my hemmys lol
-
could be hemorrhoids or an anal fissure. Some women got that. I had some anal bleeding but it went away.
Of course, Katy is gonna jump in and say I need to quit with the anal waxing!
-
Er mah ger! lol!
-
oh no I'm not! I'm laughing my ass off! You are too funny! Never stop!
-
I'm reading this while waiting for my quarterly MUGA and trying not to bust out laughing. We really have come full circle on the waxing, haven't we Ha!
-
Theresa: OMG! I am so jealous of your lashes and brows!
I am wondering if my PS jogged something back into place. I am not constipated for the first time in years and no meds at all. A gastrointergologist (sp) once told me that women who have Csection often have constipation.
-
Lee, glad we could make you laugh! I figure we need to lighten things up once in awhile.
Allison, I have been surprised by my hair growth. I still look in the mirror and get shocked, expecting to see the bald me
-
Had my first MO visit since chemo. Bloodwork puts me in full on menopause which makes me sad. My weight was back up but I was wearing boots (it's raining here!) and at my highest chemo weight I was wearing flip flops (always did to chemo). As soon as I got home of course I weighed my boots - I actually lost another 1/2 pound!
My body hairs are also fast growing. Started using an epilady on my hobbit feet. Anal waxing.....hurts. I started lasering my pits and parts pre-cancer. Guess it's time to finish that up.
