Starting Chemo March 2015

I'm excited for that Italy!
-
jumbledbamboo it will happen. I am a little over three months out and my hair just started to lay down and I can part it. You will get there! And it looks like your hair is growing back uniformly.
As for the eating thing, I've been trying to figure out how to tape my mouth shut with no success lol. I probably burn 5,000-6,000 calories a week in exercise and so far I have lost 8 of about 16 pounds gained, so it is not easy.
-
you ladies have been a chatty bunch while I've been at work!
Jumbled, awesome looking hair! I'm glad you're getting your eye checked out,it must be very annoying.
I have a fuzzy face. I'm tempted to shave it.
The bracelet looks fantastic.
Tea is ready gotta go xxx
-
just thought I'd show you all a photo of my visitor. He was naughty the bathroom wall. I put him in anow English pint glass and popped him back outside.
-
I like your idea Theresa, tape my mouth shut. Wow you sure burn a lot! Congrats on the 8lbs!!
OMG Sharon what the heck kinda spider is that? I'm not afraid of bugs but I may have screamed for that one.
-
Theresa: 8 pounds is great!
Jumbled: Awesome on the hair.
I am getting the white fuzz on my face but I can't see it unless I use the magnifying mirror. Not sure if I will snip it or what. Probably won't shave it.
-
Jumbled- I had an eye thing too, it did get better. Hope yours does soon. your hair is awesome!
Meme- the program you are going to be attending will be awesome for you! I agree with Ksusan about tracking. Everything she said.
T- congrats on 50% of your goal. You continue to amaze me.
-
about the bracelet- I put the F on because of Ninja Mary a long time ago. She was having a hard time and talked about putting a special charm on her bracelet every time she got through something hard. One day it was so bad she went out and got an "F" for cancer. She said before this shit sandwich was done, she'd have the U, C and K as well! So that's how it started.
I am sure I'm not the only one who feels KSusan, LittleBlue, and The Princess are adopted March girls- and the Traveling bracelet is open to you should you so desire. You have been a big part of us here and helped all along the way. PM me if you want on the list. We have plenty of time. If I missed anyone who's March in spirit like those 3 please step forward
Everyone else, if you have the time, remind us all what you were thinking, what your charm meant.
Wishing everyone a good day. Poor Tutti is going under the knife as I write! A worried mommy here.
-
I put on the poop charm. Probably needs no explanation besides "never trust a fart".
Took the plunge today and took the beard trimmer to....well, my beard. I feel so girly now!
-
I am curious if anyone who was on AC+ T and ER/PR + was told that it is rare for this chemo to completely eradicate the cancer? I was told that by my MO but I have never heard anyone else mention it but her.
-
I'd be delighted to be considered an adopted March girl! I would be honored to have my time with the bracelet after original March members have had their turn.
-
Ks- PM me. Address. Will put you on at the end but before it goes down under. Sharon wants to "make an entrance" with it. Which she richly deserves, having started this thread and taking more than her share of the shit sandwich!
And please consider joining us in late March 2016 in Lake Arrowhead for a 3-day reunion that IS GOING TO HAPPEN!
Wives (and husbands) welcome. We will figure out the bunking arrangements nearer the day, but E says "it's big"! Right?
E- can you post the airbnb link again?
-
Sending love to Tutti! I hope she's not too sore tonight.
Theresa, 8 lbs is hard enough, but you need an award for taking that off after chemo. I swear that chemo absolutely ruins the metabolism. You've literally been working your ass off. What an inspiration/motivation for me to keep moving!!!
Sharon, that thing will haunt my dreams. *shudder*
-
I am so honored to be considered a little sister to this wonderful group!!!!! Thank you so much!
And I sure hope Tutti is doing well after her surgery. They look so silly with shaved bellys and zippers. Sending her soft head pats..

If people don't mind doubling up the house sleeps ~20 - and there's lots of floor space. I'll keep the link up for just a few days. We don't rent it out anymore but I activated it so you can peek.
-
E- I couldn't get link to work
-
Me, neither.
-
Try this: google airbnb 1778210. It's the 3rd link down - gorgeous 5 bedroom......
I somehow can't find it if I search through the site aside from on my host page
-
Looks wonderful, Eileen. What will it be like in March?
-
Chilly! Lots of chatting around the fireplace. There might be snow. Snow hiking is fun. Last 2 years not much snow though.
-
Hope Tutti did well today! 😊

I'm getting really excited now that we are 6 months away. I LOVE fireside chatting and snow hikes. It's not deep snow. Remember it is SoCal!
Eileen you are soooo generous to keep this invite open for people you haven't even met. But I feel like I have with so many of you.
I'm already making lists of things I can make and bring to eat, drink, etc. definitely limoncello coming. Even though a summer drink, it will put a little warming fire in our bellies. Nobody need feel obligated to drink. Entirely optional to play Sloth's drinking game. I foresee lots of fun times, talking, or not talking....whatever feels right. And putting voices to names. Most of us have seen pics of each other, but I've only heard Sharon's voice and that was amazing! We both choked up, I think. Couple of pansies hahaha.
The last time we talked about this we kind of honed in on March 18-20, 2016. That's a Friday through Sunday, maybe for some during Spring break- I don't know if that will be easier or harder. I am hoping everyone will be through tx by then, maybe a couple of Herceptin stragglers, recon exchanges....
So anyone with a problem with that weekend speak up while we can still adjust. But I think that's gonna be it!
Yay!
-
My poor little Tutti-ness has to stay overnight at the vet. Boohoo. Nothing wrong, that was the plan.then I'm going to set her up like the Queen of Sheba in the guest room! Has to be kept quiet, Jack away, for a couple of days. No cone though, that's a good thing.
-
Anyone wanting to stay longer/come earlier or stay in LA for a few days all my doors are open. My house is on the small/cozy side but there's always room for a few more
-
Thanks, E.
and you have a pool!
-
I feel like I can start thinking about future stuff now. For some reason, I couldn't before surgery.
-
Allison- that is great. Glad to hear it, regardless of whether you can make it or not. But I sure hope you do.
-
I hope so, too, Katy. But it kind of depends on when it is. We have spring break around then and we haven't gone anywhere since my dx. So we'll see. Also, getting childcare can be very challenging for me (as you might have noticed).
-
I don't think I will make it to our meeting in spring. In fact I'm pretty sure I won't as I am terrified of flying first of all and I avoid it as much as I can. But maybe we could do a little Skype for a few minutes during that weekend? It would be nice to see and hear you even at a distance.
I saw a GI doctor today due to my rectal bleeding. I'm getting a colonoscopy next Monday as well as an upper GI endoscopy, because I still have nausea. I'm not looking forward to it. A little scared too.
-
BB- I think that is a fantastic idea to have a Skype date when we are all together.
Just before the date, maybe in early March, pm me and let's set up a test skype. I'll do that with anyone who wants to prior, just to make sure there are no disappointing "failures to communicate" .. Apologies to Cool Hand Luke fans.
