All my hairs are growing back - legs, pits, pubes. Not so much eyelashes & brows - although I never lost all of either but they are not filling in yet. I finally have enough head hair that I stopped putting sun screen on my head !
Katy, can't wait to see pics of your new place & hear all about it. I'm so happy for you.
-
Theresa: I would have loved to meet you when you were in Chicago but I am going to be in NOLA that weekend.
I have pit hair and my scalp is growing pretty fast. I have thick hair to begin with but who the heck knows what it will be like when it comes back? I finally made DH look at it. I want someone to cheer my progress with me. He sucked it up and did it. I know he didn't want to.
My bottom lashes are gone and my top are very sparse. I can still put a little mascara on and the pop a little bit.
-
All my hair areas are growing equally well. Pits & Legs - have to shave every 2-3 days. Arms - hair is there but I've always shaved my forearms anyway so I shave them about once a week. Pubes - nearly full. Scalp - filling in more and more every day!
-
No pubes yet. Making wiping a little tricky. No traction.

so what is everybody using as their date of diagnosis? Should I be using the date of the ultrasound with the BiRads 5 rating, or the actual day of surgery? I only had the ultrasound, MRI, PET scan and bone scan, and went straight to surgery. If from my ultrasound, it has now been 8 months for me. So weird, how the time passes.

Hi all, checking in to see how its going. Yesterday I finished my radiation and now I'm just trying to heal. My breast is very sore , beet red and weeping a nasty white substance. I'm using an antibiotic cream prescribed for me and Im hoping it works soon. Also im experiencing stabbing pains in the breast which they tell me does happen to some women. My eyesight is still buggered up from the taxotere and I still have some neuropathy in my finger tips. Over all tho I have to say that my feeling of well being has returned,, I no longer feel 'sick' and pretty much have returned to normal , My hair has finally started to grow but it's not to the point where I'd go out without a scarf. My eyelashes are finally coming back also. Anyone starting radiation should know that the daily trip is a pain in the ass but the radiation itlself is fine, its quick and will be over before you know it! Not everyone experiences pain after from radiation , it's just my luck that its a bit swampy and sore (blech)

sitting in chair, all stabbed up, waiting for blood work results and my Herceptin infusion. Thankfully these infusions don't take all day! Number 8!

Katy
Congratulations on the house. Pls post pics when you can.
I too am growing weird white hairs on face arms fingers and legs. Nothing much on my head. Feeling better with the lomotil MO gave me. It seems to work better for me than the Imodium did. 4 more taxol/ Heceptin combos to do. Feeling now like I can do this.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Maureen

I was always told it's not cancer till the pathologist says its cancer. So I use the date of my path report.
-
I use the date I got the call from my doctor
-
The day I found the lump is the day it all changed for me, so that's the day I use. I didn't believe for one second that it was going to turn out benign.
-
BB: I do the same. Jan 19th. The day my life changed forever.
-
Molly I was the same way. I just knew. Even gynecologist said it doesn't feel like cancer, and I told her it is.
-
Herceptin seemed to go fine today. Waiting to see if I get diarrhea, and if not, going for a bike ride.
And then next week, another anxiety appointment. Nurse practitioner said today that since I was unable to do rads, doctors typically recommend a follow on mastectomy. But I don't think I am going to go there. Just nerve wracking. All my tests, scans, bloodwork shows no sign of any remaining cancer, so I have to decide if I want to monitor or go through surgery. Right now I am strongly leaning to monitoring. My margins were all large, smallest one was .5 cm which is because there was nothing left to take between tumor and skin.
I wish there was an easy answer.
-
Thanks Karen. I agree platinum blonde does sound better and I will use that if needed. My scalp does get itchy occasionally! Hopefully that's a good sign.
I don't have any underarm, public or leg hair growth yet either.
-
hi Sharon! I'm sure the itching is a good sign!
I know the U.S. And OZ have different cultures, so I hope I'm not out of line in asking which if your hair is public? Teeeheeee.......
-
bloody autocorrect if it growths first it may be public as I'll be exited to see any hair growing that I'll show everyone.
-
lol. Just couldn't help myself. I am so deliriously happy today I'm almost scared
-
is the sale going through today? I was a bit scared to ask.
-
It did! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😎😎😎👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔔👏🏻🔔👏🏻🔔👏🏻🎈🎈🎈🎈😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
And I just found out the nice sellers left me their 7 piece outdoor dining set (only 2 yrs old and in very good condition)so I don't have to buy one!
Cha-Ching !!! In my pocket!
-
it just feels very odd to have so many nice things happen at once. It feels like a fresh start. I'm a bit giddy.
Jack and I and another friend and her dog celebrated with a walk on the beach. Click above on the blue link. No footprints in the sand, in the middle of the summer on a beautiful day. I feel very lucky. And very grateful.
-
CONGRATULATIONS 🏠🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟⭐
great news about the outdoor setting too. We can garden together. Now my deck is built i can finally do some gardening 😃
-
ha, jack is super fast. Made me laugh. Hes going to love his forever home.
-
Yes let's do garden together. Since the toilet bowl swirls the opposite way down there we can enjoy perpetual spring and summer! What fun
-
Sorry for clogging up space but here's my new deck and verandah. I've waited 9 years for this!so pleased with it.
-
Sharon - just lovely. And HUGE! And what a view. I think I have my spot picked out already for a sundowner!
And you of all people, do not hog space. I hog space. Not you.
-
thankyou, im looking forward to seeing more of your home. Would that be on the sunbed?
Garden planning here we come! Ive already bought 24 lavender plants to put long the front of the deck. Apparently they are good for repelling mozzies.
-
Tutti got very excited! Is a Mozzie an Australian mousie?
-
very cute and funny! Best i get out of bed. Its so nice to be home for a couple of days.
-
Katy, So happy for you!!!
Sharon, When my husband noticed I scratched my head, he said, "I'll bet that means your hair is on its way back." I kind of ignored what he said since I did not want to be optimistic and then disappointed. I found out a week or 2 later that he was right. He's always right!!!! The renovations look great!
I use the day I got the phone call confirming cancer as my diagnosis day...the second anniversary of which is coming up in 5 days. I guess I have 2 of these to "look forward to" each year.
