Starting Chemo March 2015

Allison, it must have been the lighting on that shot that made her look brown. She is actually grey, white, and kind of a peach color. Not orange. She might change as she matures?
I managed to water the garden finally and couldn't resist a little personal bouquet:

Lovely!

got my Polly's ponytail!! I love it!! It's perfect for weekends and working out. I don't think I can wear to work but maybe. Before all this BC bullshit I had long hair that I always put up in a top knot!! This is perfect!!!
-
Cute Leigh!!
-
Leigh- you are ROCKING that look
-
So cute, Leigh! Love it!
-
Had my consult w/ a different PS today. Decided to go ahead and get a second boob. I'm not looking forward to more doc visits but I think I'd wind up regretting not doing it. No time for surgery like when you're not working....
It will take them a bit to fit me in, but I am on the next available/cancellation list. I just need all of this done.
-
thanks for the hospitality Katy. My outdoorsy daughter from Alaska is here until tomorrow. She helped me buy a tent and mattress pad at REI today. Oliver and I are going to try camping this week! We are practicing tonight in the backyard. Chemo makes me crazy!! But I just want to get out of the house so giving it a try. Practicing for the big cross country trip at end of August after chemo is done!!
-
Maureen, GOOD FOR YOU!
I'm all for distractions, looking forward to (and preparing for) new adventures. They make me feel alive!
You should get to know our Diane, she has a pretty famous outdoorsy daughter too! We will need a full report in the morning on your overnight camping "trip". I'm especially interested in how Ollie does.. If he keeps you warm, if he guards the tent or hides behind you, etc. I'm not sure I could get Jack to cooperate unless I could find a battery operated heating pad!
Have a blast!!!

Checking in really quick. My BP is low, so I haven't been able to get any pain meds in a while. Trying to eat s little bit.
EMLA cream for two hours prior to the radioactive nipple injections made a huge difference. I barely even felt them cleaning/prepping it, let alone the sticks! The PS also used Botox in two spots during surgery to help relax the muscles.
I'm sore. My pain is about a 5-6. It hurts, but it'sdoable. 3 nodes removed, NED there. Final path should be back next week
Love to all and thanks for the prayers and encouragement. Will try to update tomorrow. Zzzz.....

Hurray Lee! So glad to hear it all went well-you rest now.
-
Lee! So great that you're able to check in and with good news too! Made my day to see your post. Here's to a peaceful nights sleep.
-
Thanks for the bell ringing - they do absolutely nothing at my office so I did it myself and wahood out and announced it and the other patients clapped. I had a couple of vodka tonics and a big wawa tuna hoagie by the pool - made me feel kinda normal considering.
Leigh I love the pony look , can u take a photo of the inside for me I want yo see if I can make one???
Lee glad you made it thru, here's to good sleeping.
Maureen sounds like a great adventure, would love to hear about your cross country plan, you can pm me. Did you see the movie Wild with Reese Witherspoon ?
-
Mary Ellen - I always have WAWA on chemo days. It's my little treat to myself. Vodka will have to wait a bit ... lol.
-
I just watched wild last night! It was good.
I miss wawa sandwiches.
-
Yahoo Lee! Thinking of you!
-
Lee: Thanks for checking in. Take it easy and take those pain meds if needed.
-
Lee, glad the surgery went well.
Leigh, I have not gotten my Polly's pony yet. I hope it comes soon; I would love to wear it to work this weekend. Crossing fingers! Yours looks great!
-
Lee.... Look at you.. all checking in right after surgery.... you are gonna do great! Healing hugs sent your way!
Meme.. I'll take a pic of the inside tonight for ya! It looks like she just used extension pieces but its really well made. The gal that makes them has BC as well. Stage IV I believe now. She makes them at cost and I couldn't be happier with this one. I might even order another one if I get brave enough to wear it to work.
Karen.. mine took forever it seemed to get here. I hope you get yours before the weekend. It is so much cooler and feels so much better than a wig! And I don't know why but I feel like it doesn't look fake like my wig.
-
Ok.. Southern gal here .. what is a WAWA sandwich?
-
leigh - WAWA is a gas station/mini-mart affair that makes food too. They are a mid-Atlantic based chain, but are starting to spread, we just got a few here in Florida.
-
Maryellen, my office didn't do anything either & I was there by myself so it seemed just regular.
Lee so good to hear you are doing well. Rest up.
-
Leigh, I think we ordered them about the same day. Did they ever send anything saying it's been shipped? I have not gotten anything yet saying that. I am soooooo hoping it gets here. I have to actually be in our rescue boat on a standby this weekend and the ponytail will be so much cooler than a wig in 90 degree heat!!! If it does not come, I may have to go buy hair extensions and try to MacGuyver one together myself! Yours looks really, really cute!
-
Lee- glad to hear it went well. Hoping your recovery goes well.

Leigh,
WAWA is huge here on the mid-atlantic east coast. Some have gas stations other are stand alones. It's not as good as a hoagie from a good hoagie/sub shop, but it's very convenient. We just got a Royal Farms about 20 minutes from me (gas station mini-mart) and they have great fried chicken. I never thought I'd say that I got good friend chicken from a gas station.

The journey continues. The bracelet is headed to Bekah along with a new addition. I couldn't help myself. and remember - never trust a fart.
-

Yikes! Can you smell that?????
-
Yay! I can definitely use the inspiration to get me through my last 2 weeks of chemo!!!
Bekah
-
I seriously LOLed at the traveling turd!!! That is great!
-
OMG, I cannot believe you found a poop charm! That is awesome, especially considering the amount of time we spend agonizing about poop - haha!
I especially like how you positioned it to be in the bed - totally great!
