Beachbum, you and I have the same exact hair! Mine is 6 months PFC and I give all the credit to the biotin!
I think the last concert I went to at Blossom was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers! That was ages ago! Would love to do the orchestra on the lawn! We could have a potluck picnic. Hopefully it will warm back up again soon, this weather is ridiculous! I am up for it in a few weeks. Had my exchange surgery Friday and it is a lot more ouchie than I anticipated, so I need a bit to get back on my feet.
Love seeing the pics and putting faces with names.

Hi all, I wanted to share a picture from Severance Hall. Just Jean and I saw the Cleveland Orchestra last Friday night. The seats were great, and the music perfect! A magical evening.
-
Hi Everyone, yesterday I walked in the Relay for Life at Olmsted Falls. I went with my friends from radiation, and we had a great time! If anyone would like to walk in the Relay in your city, please let me know, as I would like to go again. Elyria has a walk in mid July. Cheryl
-
Beachbum, love your photos
-
TheDivineMrsM, Thank you so much! But I hope you can join in the fun some day soon. Anything in your hometown that would be a great get together? We can road trip South too. Cheryl
-
badhairday, How are you feeling? I wanted to check in and see how things are going so we can look at the Blossom schedule. Cheryl
-
Road trip! Blossom! Picnic! Laughter! People who "get" you!
What's to not like?
I'm out of town the next two weekends but I have the schedule and will look at it and propose some dates. Looking forward to meeting some of you!
Lona

Beachbum, there's generally not a whole lot going on in the sleepy little area I live in, but if something comes up, I will let you know. Meantime, I enjoy reading of the get-togethers you all are having.
-
Beachbum, great pic! You and I are definitely hair twins!
Feeling pretty good. I am already driving, due to a family medical crisis, and just real life going on despite my restrictions, so I should be able to manage a trip to Blossom some time soon. Let's throw some dates out there, and see which one works best for the most people?
-
MammRay, I will get my work schedule on Friday for my new job!! Then I will see if I can go to Blossom on the 18th and let you know.
On July 10th I am going to the Relay for Life in Elyria. It starts at 6. You are welcome to join me. I walked the Relay in Olmsted Falls, and it was fantastic. Very inspiring and emotional walking the opening Survivor lap in our super hero capes! But the story of why it is all night really touched my heart. Let me know if you can make it. If you have a Relay by you, I would be happy to road trip to join you. You can search events online, Google Relay for Life 2015. And families and care givers are welcome too.
Any other walkers for the Relay?? Cheryl
-
The 18th? I can't go the 18th! Ack! We'll have to plan another one!

Hey MammaRay, the Relay for Life is a walk. We walked the first 5 laps on the high school stadium track, so not far at all. I can't run, I have heart damage from chemo, and a crabby knee right now. But the ceremony was lovely. Is there one by you that is coming up? Elyria is July 10th. And besides with all the cancer survivors walking, it's not a fast walk either.
-
Everyone is invited! I signed up to walk in the Survivors Lap at the Relay for Life in Elyria on Friday July 10th at 6 pm. If you have time, please join me. All the info to sign up is available online at Relay for Life.
-
I can't make it, already have plans with hubby that night. Have fun!
-
I go to Cleveland Clinic main campus but I am from a small town in northwest Ohio. MammaRay I am 3 months out from a fractured shoulder I missed a step and landed on my left shoulder. The bone is healed but working on range of motion now. Nothing to do with cancer just clumzie

The Eagles live right off Route 83 by the lake, and they have a nest with two young Eaglets. I see them flying along the lake. The beach is at Miller Road and Lake Road in Avon Lake. That is the power plant that the locals call "hot waters". Nice to swim there since the water is warmed by the power plant. We can swim as late as mid October, and depending on ice melt I have been swimming there in late April. Nice place to raft in the sun.
I hope everyone is on the mend! Cheryl
-
Is that Davis-Bessie? My husband works at a First Energy power plant up the Ohio River about 10 minutes from where we live.
Mr. Eagle is so regal! I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild like that

Hello Ladies! Happy 4th! The Divine Mrs. M, The power plant is in Avon Lake on Lake Erie. It is my favorite beach, but sadly closed this weekend because of high water and high bacteria levels. So I'll have to go to another beach to walk and look for treasure. I was at the ER yesterday, I have shingles! They said that chemo/cancer patients are high risk for it. I have an appointment for the 23rd with my PCP for the vaccine that I made months ago. The shingles got me first. I wish my MO would have told me that, but she just pushed the flu shot. Anyone get the shingles vaccine?
I caught this taking pictures of the fireworks in Avon Lake from my balcony. I was surprised when I looked at them and saw the plane. I wonder where it is going to land?
Have a safe Holiday, Thank You Veterans! Cheryl
-
Beachbum, I got the shingles vaccine. I had a rare reaction. The site swelled to about the size of my hand. At first it looked like a giant hive then it turned red. I guess I was the first one they have seen have a reaction. Glad I got it though.
-
Hi Ladies, I walked the Relay for life on Friday evening. It was very nice, and fun to meet up with the ladies I met during treatment. And it was fun to see all the Super Heroes there that came out to support us!
-
Beachbum, great photo

Hey Buckeyes, I have some great news to share! I applied in May for Casting For Recovery, and I was selected to participate in the fly fishing retreat in September!! I'll be at Indian Bear Lodge at Walhonding, Ohio staying September 18 - 20. It is a breast cancer retreat, and the activities look like fun. The focus will be on fishing, but other educational and relaxing activities are available also. The lodge looks amazing, all rustic and peaceful. It looks like a giant log cabin, surrounded by woods. Just the place to get my fishing cowboy on! Can't wait to go, and I'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share. If anyone is interested in the contact info, just let me know. If anyone lives close to that area, I would be able to find time on the way there or back to meet for coffee or something. Just let me know.
The weather has been beautiful, what is keeping you busy?? I'm working alot, so not much time right now. Two more weeks and it should settle down so we can plan a get together. I love the new job, but it's been tough getting back to a working life. Cheryl
-
Good for you Cheryl, sounds like a great time. Did you get my call? Wondering if you had your scans yet and how it went. I've been golfing a bit, walking my dogs, working and spending time with my granddaughter. I can't believe it's almost August! I'm going to see my new oncologist tomorrow which is the same one you go to. Anyway, give me a call when you get a few minutes, we should meet up again.
Maybe in the fall we can find a day when some of us can meet. Hope you all are hanging in there and having a nice summer.
-
Hi Genny, I'm having computer issues and working so missing everything. Give me a call when you have time, I'm home by 11 am from work. We can plan dinner out! Cheryl

Hi Ladies! Last night I met up with my friends from Rads that I met at our Breast Cancer Center in Fairview Park. We planned a fundraiser to help our social workers and the patients undergoing rads treatments. They provide gift cards directly to the patients to help pay for gas and other out of pocket expenses. We had all received something from the social workers during treatment and it was our way to help them support other patients currently in treatment. We held the fundraiser in Lakewood at a popular establishment complete with a dunk tank! We had a lot of fun, raffled gift baskets, had a 50/50, and made $600 to pay it forward. Good times!
Left to right: Mona with dunk tank hair, Karen, Cheryl, Yolanda, and Michele
Michele made our shirts, and the back said Got Mammo?. It was also my second haircut day, that's something to celebrate as well. Cheers!
-
Hi Ladies, I am getting ready to leave tomorrow for my fly fishing retreat with 12 other breast cancer patients. I am so excited, the get away will be awesome, and relaxing. Just what I need the week before the scans start over. I hope that the trip is fantastic, and my scans will have the same result. I will keep you posted!! Enjoy the beautiful sunny weather!
-
Beachbum1023, that is awesome, I hope that you have a great time and I'm sending good vibes your way for good scan results when you get back!
-
Beachbum, good for you, have a great time and please keep us posted on the scans. Maybe next month things will slow down and we can get together. Hi to everyone else, hope all are doing well.

Casting for Recovery retreat at Indian Bear Lodge 2015. I had a fantastic time at the retreat, and caught the biggest fish, a 22 inch catfish!! The weather was beautiful, and the lodge is amazing. We had 14 ladies for the weekend, and left exhausted. They had so many activities, awesome fly fishing guides, and the volunteers nailed the perfect adventure. Look for it online, it is an annual retreat, and it was all free for us. Even if you haven't ever gone fishing, you will get "hooked" on it. I am so glad I was selected to attend.

The Jet Express went by on the way to the Browns game today. GO BROWNS! Are you watching?
