The dreaded rescan of the lung nodule!!

    I met with the radiologist and he said I should not be worried. He diagnosed me Radiation Pneumonitis and believed that is what is being seen on Scan. have any of you heard of this? He said it will go away

    Yes Winters, I have the same thing. but I also have 2 nodules under the radiation pneumonitis. I will have another CT scan next Tuesday March 27th. The nodules were found first in November,they are new nodules. Were not there in May but were found 30 days after radiation was completed. They rescanned in the end of Jan but the newly identified radiation pneumonitis obscured the nodules so they don' t know if there has been a change in the nodules. I have a pulmonologist following my case. He ordered a lung function test and a few extra blood tests and I will be seeing him every 3 months and redo the lung function tests for any changes. I have no symptoms. I am just worried about the lung lesions. My Mom died of lung cancer. Let's hope our radiation pneumonitis goes away and doesn't turn to scar tissue. mine is covering 15% of my right lung.
