Shoppy girl that is wonderful news! The happy dance is going on at your house tonight. MrsDarcy, I am so glad that you have a new onco. Pretty bad when someone can play fast and loose with your life, and not theirs! I hope you find a great one. I have a great relationship with mine.
-
I am so relieved and happy for you! A year and a half is good news too. -
thanks Hope
Hugs

Woot! Happy dance for you.
I'm waiting for my own first follow-up scan for TINY nodules. My pulmonologist said "If we stopped any 10 people on the street and gave them CTs, 5 of them would have nodules. So it's quite common to have a few small ones. Best to all still in waiting mode.

Whatnow
Good luck with the follow up!
Yes it is amazing how many people have these stupid things!!

Just saw this - glad everything turned out boring for you! I too have had a nodule for at least five years and I get questioned about it all the time usually by radiology techs who ask "have you had pneumonia lately?" - mine is benign too but I do have other mets they are looking after - I am due for CT scan next week and of course am in "high anxiety" mode - grrrrrr!

Hope everything turns out ok on the ct. I am assuming your other mets are not in the lung?
Hugs.

Shoppy
Yay for you!!!

Good news shoppy! For those who asked, my nodules were found during treatment. I was having horrible reflux during chemo which presented as pressure on my chest. Although my MO figured it was heartburn, I was so worried they scheduled a ct scan. And, while it was heartburn, they did find scattered nodules. Like many of you, my MO is unconcerned but when they call with results it's always, "well, it's probably benign."
I get rescanned every 6 months for 2 years, I think. I have had 4 so far. I get especially freaked out because my mom passed from mets to the lungs in 1979.
-
Good morning ladies
I met my MO yesterday - all mammo / US was clear (except for a cyst in the right breast but they aren't concerned). We did go over my CT scan of Dec 24 whereby nodules were found (and I wasn't told .. only found out when I requested my file and got it in August). He said he did not believe the nodules to be in connection with my cancer, but that we are going to follow it as per the recommendation on the initial scan report. I submitted my papers to the imaging department and I am waiting for them to call me.
I am not stressed about it - just want to know it's nothingHave a wonderful Tuesday - here fall is slowing setting in .. LOVE IT !!!

Mrs Darcy
Good luck with the follow up scan! It's amazing how many of us have these stupid things!!!

I had a CT scan a week and a half ago since I'm coming up on 6 months since I finished chemo. My dr's nurse called me a few days later saying they found a very small nodule on my lung. She said that the dr told her that it's too small for a PET scan to pick up. I will have another scan in 3 months. I feel fantastic, but I spent the weekend convinced I'm going to die. This thread has helped to ease my fears. Thank you! Now the waiting begins...

skoolgirl
Sorry that you have this worry. Is this your first ct scan? Even if it isn't, it is possible that the nodule was there before but because it is so small, they did not mention it. Once you get through your next ct scan you will feel better. As you have already read, these things are very common. Unfortunately once you have had cancer, they really check every little thing.
Hugs to you and keep us posted

Skoolgirljen - I am going for a ct scan on November 14 for nodules on my lungs. My onc does not believe it is related to my cancer and we will go forward with scans every 6 months. I admit, I am a little nervous, but alot of people have nodules on their lungs .. so I try to reassure myself with that and continue knowing & believing that I am all good
Hugs,MD

Hello
So I had my scan on Friday (Nov. 14). In and out in 30 minutes - gotta love it !!!!! Before my appointment, the hospital asked me to fax over my report from my last scan (Dec 24). I did.
Today I got a call from the radiology department asking me to please bring in my cd with my scans as soon as I can.Ummmm .. ok .. like nobody thought to ask me for that BEFORE my scan ? I know it's probably just protocol, a technicality, yadda yada yadda .. but a little nervous twitch went off in my heart (and head) when the call came in. Makes me wonder what the radiologist saw .. or is questioning .. or is wanting to compare .. get my drift ?
So tomorrow, off I trek back to the hospital to give them the cd so they can download my scan and go back to work - and then sit and wait till I either get a call or meet my onc in January.
But I am good .. still smiling over here .. just felt the need to vent that out. I'm done now
LOL !!!

Mrs Darcy
It never seems to end!!!! Don't they have your last scan? I see you are in Quebec so it must be different for you but in Calgary they can look it up on line and compare.
Hopefully the recheck is simply because they want to make sure they are cross referencing it properly. I know radiologidt always have to be so careful with what they put on your report so they don't get sued.
Anyway , good for you for being calm.
Keep us posted and hopefully we will be celebrating with you by the weekend.
Hugs!!

Shoppy, I changed hospitals and oncologist this spring. I thought all had been downloaded in September but I guess not. All fibgers and toes crossed here
-
MrsDarcy, try your best not to worry. Hopefully they are being very careful and doing a good job for you.....making sure no changes or if there are changes that they are for the better. Look at it this way, at least they are interested.
-
Mrs Darcy
That makes sense why they would need it then.
They have to compare it to something
Good luck with everything
-
Just stopping by to say I got my results yesterday from my scan of November .. nothing has changed
So my next scan will be November 2015.
Happy Tuesday everyone !!!
-
Good for you, Mrs Darcy, take care!
-
Great.news Mrs Darcy!!!! It's amazing how much worry theses things cause and then we get good news and everything is fine again !
So happy for your good results!!
Hugs!

I have had a left upper lobe nodule that was unchanged for about a year. Now I have a second node in my right lower lobe. And I have had a chronic cough and shortness of breath. I also had rads to the right area. Is it common for nodules to just occur out of the blue, without some respiratory infection? I have a CT Chest next week. Should I request a biopsy?
-
Well, I had my scans and the lung nodules had not grown in the last year. BUT, I found out now that I have coronary artery disease (from chemo) and asthma (seasonal allergies) and will need to be allergy tested. One thing better, two things fall apart. That has been the story of my life for the last 3 years.

night nurse.
Good news on the lung nodule! Yes it never seems to end! Both my kids have asthma and it is a pain but very treatable. Hugs!!

Hello everyone
So I wanted some advice on the follow up to my lung nodule. A single 6mm lung nodule was found on my work up scans in March of 2013. Since then I have had two follow up scans, one in Sept 2013 and another in Sept 2014. Both showed no change or anything else concerning.
I had my six month follow up at my cancer centre yesterday and was expecting my nurse (who is the only person I see there now and is extremely thorough ) to advise that I would have another ct scan to check it again in Sept of this year. I was quite surprised when she did not mention it. I know she didn't forget as she never forgets anything! She is so on top of everything she actually scares me a little!!!
Anyway, now it has been a year and a half with no changes or concerns with the lung nodule I an wondering if this is enough checking on it or should I mention this to my nurse and have one more scan?
To be honest I was a little relieved that it was not mentioned as these scans cause me extreme anxiety! I don't want to be burying my head in the sand not be on top of this but I also would be very happy to not have to worry about checking on this thing!
Any suggestions on what I should do?
Thanks!!
