Salt Lake City and Salt beds
-
Theda, That's a beautiful picture. What was going on there? (asks the teacher who sometimes taught science)
-
Jan69, this is a picture taken in February, during the wind season in the Caribbean city where I live. A lot of kite surfers enjoy the strong wind and this one happened to position his kite perfectly to the setting sun. There is a nice bar in front of the sea where you can watch the sunset, a perfect place for taking pictures.
-
Oh silly me! I hadn't noticed the surfer on the water. Yes, timing and luck can make some beautiful scenes. Jan
-
Theda, Neat picture. Living in the Caribbean must be awesome.
Nancy C., Neat salt beds. I have never seen pics of those before.
Ariom, Beautiful pear tree. In three months when we are in our winter can I come stay with you for three months. LOL
Lisa, That pink rose is a beauty.

Ok I will stop bothering with pictures from paradise.
This is from my favorite island. Couldn't go there since April due to cancer and surgery and so on, but I have high hope that in about 3 weeks, I shall be able to get on a boat and in the water.
-
Theda, just beautiful, I hope you get back there soon!
-
Lisa, gorgeous, gorgeous roses!!
Teda, I love the kite surfer, lovely photo. It almost looks like some kind of weird eclipse going on!! The other island really does look like paradise too. If I keep up with this pesky fitness routine since BC I may even be fit enough to get my old sailboard out on the lake next summer. I have not used it in many years and I pine for it still, especially when I see surfing and sailing pics!!
Ariom, so good to see the blossoms and think that Spring is happening somewhere when its dark and rainy here tonight.
Nancy C. Were you flying home from your trip? Great shots of the salt flats.
-
Dragonfly that sat on my knee for it photo when I visited Borderland State Park, Massachusetts
-
Thanks Ariom!
Lyzzysmom, taking out the sailsboard sounds like a great idea! Nothing like a few hours on the water to make you forget about all trouble in your life.
-
Theda, Paradise is very enticing. Beautiful pic.
Lizzysmom, The dragonfly pic is spectacular. It almost looks like a chin of an animal. Very cool. Pretty yellow flowers in the lake. I bet that was really pretty to see.
-
Thank you Nancy. The park was so pretty. It looked like a golden blanket all over the water with the yellow flowers. The little dragonfly sat on my knee for so long that I was actually able to change lenses. Its a while since I took it but I think I even had time to add a closeup lens, all while he just sat there for several minutes!
-
I could hardly even see this teeny butterfly..I had just put my closeup filter on to
take a photo of the jade plant bloom which are also very small...He was just waiting for me I think
-
What a great shot Lisa! Such a tiny thing and so beautiful. I love the little white furry belly. Nature is wonderful!.
-
lyzzsmom I was flying home. We flew over the Grand Canyon and I had a layover in Salt Lake City so that is how I got those. It was pretty cool.
Theda I love your paradise pictures please keep posting. They are very calming.
Afriend of mine sent this to me. Love it!

I had a great time at my night sky photography class. This is the best picture of the bunch, so far (Milky Way and a light-painted tree). Star trails are 400 pictures in one, so they are taking a long time to process. The other students couldn't believe this was the first time I've seen the Milky Way. It was awesome!!
-
Clickchick, this is beautiful!
-
Thanks, Theda!
-
-
Thanks, Lisa!
-
how did you do that..?? it is fantastic.
-
Thanks, Lisa. That is a 2 1/2 minute night exposure. Someone is indirectly shining a light on the log, while the picture is being taken. The Milky Way did all the work, it was an awesome sight to see. You might also notice there is some haze on the horizon--there were 2 fires going on locally and I was lucky the smoky haze cleared up long enough to take the shot.

After the storm
-
Clickchick....amazing!
-
Thank you, Ariom!
Theda- that looks like paradise, even after a storm
