Chevy the only thing I know about black socks of the male variety is that they put black fluff on the carpet. Oddly black socks of the female sort never do this. At least in our house.
This is surely one of life's great mysteries.
Wow there are YouTube videos about how to get rid of black sock fluff!!
Also male black socks go grey
while mine never do.
They are all washed in the same machine with the same detergent!
Now before you tell me it must be an Irish thing, DH is so fond of his regulars that he continues to buy all his undies, socks, jeans and shirts whenever he's in the US.
I know you are going to tell me it's what's in the socks that matters, not where they were bought, and true, DH scrubs up nice, no shrinkage, no fade

julie, that's a Harry Potter tent! My kind of camping
-
It's called glamping There is a place in central Fl that has this. Near Disney. The tents can have a/c too. That would be necessary here during the summer. Doesn't help with the wild life there, bear, coyote, bob cat, snakes, gators. Holiday Inn for me!

Good story to share.
Last night I took bowl of peas from microwave.
Unfortunately the microwave plate was stuck on to the bottom of the bowl of peas.
It realised its mistake and went crashing to the floor.
It did not survive.
(big aaaaah).
DH and I went on web and examined several expensive replacement plates. (Not as expensive as new microwave though).
Then today, by chance, DH and I went to DIY store.
DH says "Lets ask if they stock replacement microwave plates"
I ask, and not surprisingly, they don't.
As we are about to leave the assistant I had asked comes up and presents me with......
the exact plate I needed.
By law here all electrical outlets offer recycling of your old appliance.
He had gone to the skip outside the store and fished a plate out of a dumped-for-recycling microwave for me.
Cost: Zero!
