DS was in Jazz Band when he was in high school & the girl who bought his trombone is in it too.....so I have a sentimental attachment to one of the instruments!

Grateful for earth angels who show up when needed, today being the case, in the lives of some family members who needed them.

Today I am confused. They are taking me off of Tamoxifen saying the SE's are too severe for me. Nothing in its place yet, that's in the 3 week appt, once it is mostly out of my system.

So I am grateful to be leaving that behind. It would be nice to have a day without pain.

Ruth, great story about the fund raiser.

Red- they might want to put you on the AIs next. They usually wait until everything is out of your system before they start another. There are AIs threads here too if you need them. I hope that works better for you. Just keep tabs on your bone health.

grateful for Puffs with lotion, my cold is lingering and I can't tell you how many times a day I have to blow my nose.....

Cheryl, sorry you are still fighting that cold. Poor little nose.

Jazzy, they don't want to do AI's yet, my se's are the same as for AI's so they think I would be even worse off. They said they would be researching it, so I'm sure all will be well.

Ruth, what age were those rambunctious kids?

Today I am grateful for my counselor who said tears are welcome here instead of 'buck up, buttercup'.

    Have a great day ladies.

1/21- grateful my floors are getting finished today!

Red- yes, the AIs can be a problem too. Let us know what you find out about other options.

I don't think we always need to be strong. I am glad you have someone helping you that is allowing you to feel what you need to feel.

Red, the rambunctious kids were 6th graders.

Holy Cow, I am very grateful about something.....yesterday the DH of a good friend & his brother were taking another friend to a medical appointment in a large town 100 miles away. We had a freezing rain/mist thing going on; so they were driving slowly, had their seatbelts on, and not using the cruise control. A young woman going down the interstate in the other direction lost control of her car rolled over & over in the ditch, came up on their side of the interstate & smashed right into them; deploying the airbags, smashing all the windows & spinning them in the opposite direction. Both cars were totaled but by a true miracle, the three guys were only bruised & shaken up & the girl had a broken arm but was otherwise uninjured.

Ruth, so happy your friend and his brother as well as the girl were not seriously injured or killed.

Grateful for another sunny beautiful winter day and that I got in another 45 minute walk with DH.

Onco, I think sleep is more important than some think to our mental as well as physical wellbeing. I'm glad yours is improving.

Ruth, that's terrifying. Happy it worked out ok but wow!

Grateful for the support I always receive from the ladies of BCO. Thank you all.

    Have a great day.

1/22- grateful for the snow storm last night that brought lots more moisture here. We are having a good winter for a change (meaning good snowfall which we need for our water supply and to keep the fire risk down).

1/18: Grateful for the support of women on this thread like Jazzy, Ruth, HBCheryl, Onco and others as I go thru this difficult time

1/19: Grateful that when I fall behind, no scolding or reprimands

1/20: Grateful that it's ok to feel sad, especially when the situation is what it is

1/21: Grateful to spend time with my Dad today. After a meeting with Mom's new hospice team, Dad and I went shopping alone for the first timewithout Mom, for clothes for him (I think he really wanted an excuse to get out of the house and that's ok). Especially grateful for a last-minute surprise text from my DD letting me know she was coming home last evening (it's her 21st birthday today and I had been sad a little earlier in the week that I wouldn't get to spend any time with her this week) so I packed up the car and made a mad-dash home to be with her (Dad is cool with that, we'll just have to get together again soon)

1/22: Grateful DD is having a good birthday: slept in, I got to make breakfast for her, she went to the local spa to get a massage, quick stop off at home (and even an apology for being snippy with me last night -- that's progress) before heading home. Her BF and friends are taking her to dinner tonight, BF driving them up the coast to Santa Barbara to go wine tasting after she has a big test first thing in the morning. Oh, and Ms Fashionista rented 2 designer dresses (one for tonight, one for the weekend) which is making her really happy. Life is good.

Maddy it is so hard to know the end is coming you are a wonderful caring daughter and I'm so glad your DD was able to spend part of her birthday at home with you.

Today grateful for my gym carpool buddies, we just whiz down the freeway in the car pool lane bypassing all the horrible rush hour traffic chatting and laughing together

Maddy, I'm happy that you got to spend some time with your DD on her birthday and got to pamper her a bit with breakfast. So very sorry about your mom.

Today I am grateful that I was able to stay productive despite a busy day yesterday. I hate those go,go,go days where you still seem to have nothing to show for it at the end of the day.
