georgie, I love the Columbia River Gorge!! For years I had a Sierra Club calendar page tacked to my cork board at work with a photo from there. Later when I married DH#2 he took me there and I was in total heaven!! That place is so calming and soothing to me!

The Pacific Ocean seen from the east coast of Japan near Hachinohe. I can sit and listen to waves breaking all day. I find it very peaceful to listen to.

Ruth, what a gorgeous picture! There's so much light in this country, we hardly ever see more than 1-2 stars.

Wren, The only thing that keeps us from seeing a sky full of stars here are the couds that darken they sky all too often. We are surrounded by vacation homes and vacant lots. No street lights--so very peaceful and beautiful.

Thank you ladies for posting beautiful peaceful pictures - I'm not sure you would call where I am peaceful, but in my heart it is. Will be gone playing with these two and working from their place until next monday, when I travel home. If I can get a pretty evening picture through the trees here, I will otherwise, you all keep up the good work! Remember - this is peaceful, not outwordly, but inwardly
