Hi jji- I see that you've been through chemo not too long ago. So sorry you are having to go through with it again. Good luck with your treatment on Friday. May your side effects be few.

Hi there! I'm a little late finding "my group", but so glad to see there are so many of us in it together! My first treatment was 6/10: A/C, so this is Day 2. Just a little nausea this morning. Took a Zofran to try to stay on top of it. Neulasta shot yesterday, took Claritin yesterday & today. My ribs feel a little bruised. Overall...so far, so good!

By the way, I do believe the fear of getting started is much worse than going through the actual process on the first treatment. I also wanted to get in the car & drive FAR AWAY! But I just kept telling myself that I had to "do it afraid" for all of these amazing people supporting me. And I've truly surrendered to God's will. There has to be a bigger purpose for this experience, and it's my mission to find it, as I hope we all do. Looking forward to seeing our group name change to June 2013 Survivors!

    Hi Stacey,

Glad you found our June group.  Sounds like you are managing quite well for day two, that's great.

I agree - the build up in our minds before starting is more fearful and dramatic than the actual time in the chair.  Having the first one under my belt feels good.  I was super calm, ready to go but when the nurse rolled up with the cart and all the gear - I got so scared and the tears started flowing.  Same thing happens to me EVERY time I'm rolled into an ER.  Fine and doing my breathing....then once on the actual launchpad....shed some tears.....get that over with and I settle down.

I'm feeling pretty good today.  Staying close to home and cozy.  Turned on the gas fireplace to take the chill out of the room.  We have rain here on the west coast.

    Have a good day everyone.

We've got some ladies starting cycle one tomorrow.  Let us know how you are doing.

Brooksy - the fatigue is normal. I found that started about day 4. You seem to get all kinds of weird side effects, I even had the odd jab of pain in my mouth. I am on day 8 and this is the best I have felt. Yesterday I had bad muscle spasm in my lower back, today it is gone. Head still feels odd but physically feel more energetic. Expect the unexpected.

I finally got my port placement date.  I will be getting it put in on June 19th.  I am not sure when I will start Chemo yet as my oncologist wants me to wait a few weeks after I get my lymph nodes out.(that might throw me into the July group)  We are also still discussing the different Chemo options available to me.  I am pretty sure we are set on perjeta and herceptin with taxotere being the likely third piece.

BabyRuth - We have the same port placement date. Good Luck! I also have to get re-excised to widen the margins on my right side - not happy about it but BS seems to think this will reduce the rads dosage so I'm good with it - just wish both the rads oncologists agreed! Had one say yes, had another say it didn't matter. Urgh! I'm looking at last week of June / First week of July to start round 1. We'll see... meet with med onc the 24th... trying hard not to think about SE's - she seems to think I can stay on top of them. I'll cling to her optimism!

How about JUGS (just us girl's):)!!!!! I start AC tomorrow and I'm not Happy at all. People say "So you ready" I don't think I will ever be ready. Welcome all new June bugs sorry and hello all at once. I went to the store today and there was this lady that I knew was dealing with the same demon as us so I started to talk to her... so beautiful and was done with chemo end of April I picked her brain. She said its not as bad as I thought. My anxiety is through the roof. Don't know if ill even sleep tonight. What do I need for treatment

dlm425 - there is a thread back in the main part that says important thread for newbies - you should be able to find a list of possible things to bring there.

I found first chemo day very I eventful as most people will tell you. We all build it up in our heads before we go. Try and stay calm.

I've reading how everyone who recently started their chemo is doing, and I get both anxious and soothed by everyone's different reactions.  I know it was really rough for a few of you and hope your doing better.  How are the working women doing?  I am going to be attempting to work through all this also.  Am I crazy to think that I can have chemo and then go into work?

My Onco said that the people who have more difficulty tend to be the women that had lots of morning sickness, sea sickness, motion sickness, etc.  Would you say that applies to you?

Hi puppy mama , I will be starting chemo also last week in June please let's stay connected. I need all the support I can get. All the ladies are so brave I hope I can do the same. So sorry for all the ladies that are having such a bad time it's just not fair. Thanks for the info on purchasing prosthetic. They are just so expensive!! I just can't handle being one sided.

Thanks for all the encouragement. Hugs for everyone.
