New Gummy Bear Tear Drop Silicone Impants - anyone have them?

Congratulations, Togetherness!
I am reading the thread but not writing yet. I still have to wait to finish chemo. Had my third expansion one day before the chemo and will have the next ones one day before the chemo sessions as well.
From what I read I will go with the anatomical. I was always an A but now I will be a B or C... something good has to come from this! -
Togetherness: I've had Allergan 410s for 2 years and am happy with them. Be sure not to judge too soon. Even once the swelling goes down there is a certain amount of settling. -
Minustwo, I think I asked you this before, but can you move you gummy bears around enough to put them in a bra, or do you have to find a bra that fits them?
It does us all good to know that two years later you are still happy with them. -
it will hurt for a few days Togetherness and the swelling takes about 2-3 months to go down fully (at least mine did)
Of course, you know you will heal faster once those dang drains come out!!!
Good luck and let us know what you think!!!! -
Goldie: Yes, I can push them together in the middle or push them up. But I spent so many years waiting to get home & rip off that darn bra that I seldom wear one. If I feel the need for coverage I usually go with a 'bralette' - stretchy pull on, no wires, no cups, soft tank strap, nice wide & low circle front that shows the cleavage & a blend of bamboo fibers. -
Tomorrow I see PS to go over again what type of implants I will get. I think there was a communication issue as I am sure he said Gummy type teardrop shaped when I saw him in September. But then I got better educated and when I called to ask to see him again, I was told that he was using round, I think cohesive gel. So tomorrow I will find out for sure. Any comments welcome for questions to ask. I am having an augment on my other side. -
Minus, I am looking forward to no bra too, but there are certain things that would look weird if you didn't wear one. Like if it's slightly sheer and you don't see a bra, that might confuse somebody...lol. Also, I am sure when I finally get nipples there will be times I will have to wear a bra, like under a white t shirt, white blouse, etc.
I am glad you can move your's around. Some people say they are stuck to them like glue. No movement at all. -
Thanks everyone for the commentary since I first logged onto this site. I did see my PS today and we are both glad I booked another appt. He was going to use round but after further discussion we agreed that the Allergan 410's (375) are the ones for me. Yes, I will have to wear an underwire bra for a month (he said less when I told him I was going to the Caribbean Dec. 24) but he thinks the results will be good and same kind for left which is an augment. He was really happy with how everything looks and said that my radiated skin looks great and thus I am a good candidate for this kind of implant. I did not ask but I am guessing that 375 is the size and that would be cc? It is actually bigger than I was as he said when doing the fills he had to add more so that the augment implant would work~~yeah, I guess they don't make small implants! So Dec. 6 it is and I am much more comfortable with everything now. -
Maria, that is interesting about the underwire bra. Most tell you not to wear one for a while. Also, now you have me concerned about size. My doc wanted to put 475's in me and said it would be a full B, now I am thinking I am going to be a DD, or something. I have my pre-op next week, so he and I are going to have a serious talk. I really don't like the way these big expander's look on me, and they are only 500 cc. I was small breasted, and I want to stay that way. I feel like these big expander make me look fat.
I am so happy for you, and that your skin is cooperating. That is awesome. Keep us posted. -
Just so you ladies are aware when discussing size of anatomical Allergan 410's and silicone rounds, the 410's are measured in gram weight versus the rounds are measured in liquid cc's -
Catey, I have heard that before, but it doesn't help me when figuring out the size. I was told that each of my breasts weighed 450 grams when they were removed. So, if my PS puts in 475 gummies they should be just slightly bigger? -
I just had an exchange of Mentor smooth rounds to the Naturelle 410 anatomical. I had 650 cc's in the rounds, which made me a 30(E). The size I have in the Naturelle is 655 cc's. I am still bandaged up,but I saw a ton of cleavage when I peeked! I am excited about the unveiling -
slinky, first of all, hope you are feeling good!!! When will you have your unveiling? Also, why did you have another exchange? Did you not like the look for the round silicone?
I am getting really close to my exchange, and I am very nervous. Scared, actually. -
Goldie, my PS thought the anatomical gummies would address the problems I was having. Specifically, the major rippling on the top, inner areas. He did do FG over the right top of the new implants. I can see the difference between the right and the left. With that being said, another round of FG might be needed over the left breast. The doc will do the unveiling when the drains come out. Sometime next week.
I can already see a more natural shape with the Naturelles. Time will really tell how they will look! -
Hi Ladies,
I tried to read this thread, but it's too long to find answers to my questions--so sorry if you've shared this before. I'm 3+ months from exchange, and my foob is rippling and drooping lower than it should. At my check up, the PS said my skin is very thin, and that it is why it is sagging lower than it should, and rippling. Anyone else had this situation? I had an Allergan Nauralle Style 45 (silicone), 320cc put in. He is recommending to put in the new gummy bear tear drop. He said he's done many exchanges w/this since it came on the market, but hasn't done it to address my particular situation. (In other words, he's not sure it will work. He is suggesting to do fat grafting as well.)
Anyone else has similar situation, or insight about going this route?
Also, my foob and boob are different sizes. He is suggesting putting in a small silicone implant. Thinking about this for a while, I'd like to make the foob smaller to match the boob. Can you downsize a foob?
I haven't checked with my insurance--is this improvement surgery considered part of the reconstruction process, or will this expense be on me?
Thanks for sharing! Renee -
Hi Renee
Welcome, Sorry for all you have gone through. I have not had my exchange yet. Dec 3rd is my date!!!! Did your PS use any alloderm, and other product that is similar to strengthen your pocket so your implant wouldn't fall? I had alloderm put in after my bmx when my expander's were placed. So far, no problem with it. That's the only thing I can think of that might help you.
Also, it is not unusual to have the existing breast lifted and sometimes have a small implant added too. It's almost impossible for a PS to make a new boob that matches an existing one. Some women actually opt for both breasts to be removed for that very reason, and also to prevent recurrence too. -
Yes on the alloderm. PS tried to put an implant in my boob on the first exchange, but my skin was too thin then. I'd be OK with the way my situation is now--in (most) clothes, the size difference isn't noticeable. It's just now my foob is sagging, making them uneven. That, and the rippling, things are not turning out as planned. I could even live with what I have now, but PS thinks the issues will get worse over time. -
Gee, Renee...I would be looking for a second opinion. He has had two chances, and he hasn't done right by you. I would definitely be looking for an alternative. Where do you live? -
He's only done my reconstruction 1x. (Sorry if my description was confusing.) He actually did a great job giving my boob a lift, and the boob and foob were aligned at the time of surgery. And, with hindsight, I think I understand why (my skin is thin) I never had perky breasts, and post nursing three kids, they were looking very saggy. I'm in Columbus OH. -
Renee, you skin on you real breast is working just fine, right? Your skin is so thin on the mx side because when they take out the breast tissue sometimes they remove too much of the fat layer under your skin. Oops, was the explanation I got, and well, you didn't want your cancer to come back, right? Ugh!!!! It's a common problem unfortunately. -
I did my own unveiling, since I had to wash the bandage dressing. I still have drains in, and I am sure some swelling. There is so much cleavage! Maybe a little too much? It kind of looks like the implants are too large for my body. I have the stripper look. The implants are very firm compared to the smooth, round implants. There is no give and they are not soft. They look pretty darn perfect, though! -
slinky
Sounds like you got two things going on there. Maybe the swelling is causing them to look too big. I think I have said this before, but I found out from somebody else on here that the Allergan 410's are not measured in cc's, but by weight. I don't know what size you were pre mx, but it sounds like you have some good size boobs right now.
Has there been an improvement in the rippling with the gummies?
BTW, how do you feel? -
I am feeling like Goldilocks
I had my first exchange in April with Allergan 410s (375) and I felt really disappointed. I felt like they were super flat (except at the bottom) and because of my bony chest they were also sort of low and far apart. Since I was getting my port out, my plastic surgeon took another stab at me (literally) and lifted my new (475) implants and tried to bring them together more. Now I feel like a stripper. It's only been a week and I've seen the swelling, etc., before but man am I nervous. I was very small to begin and I wanted to be larger but not obnoxious. If I would have known he could lift them this much and it would have made such a huge difference, I would have kept the 375s. Ughhh, I just want to be happy and move on. I see him today for follow-up and I'm always afraid I'm going to hurt his feelings, I'm finding that I am just impossible to please.
Thanks for listening, as always. -
Poke
Don't you worry about the surgeon's feelings, worry about your own. If you are unhappy then you need to tell him. I am really sorry you are going through this. When he revised you did he use an implant with more projection? Maybe that is why you feel so big? -
hello everyone,
I have been reading the discussions on here for over a year. I always found the answers to my questions somewhere on the discussion board. Today I am feeling extremely down in the dumps and have several questions I was hoping you all could help me with. On Nov. 6 I exchanged round 600cc silicone implants with size 580 allergan 410s. I swapped because I had extreme wrinkling and because I had no inframmamery crease anymore. One implant was bottoming out. My PS created a crease by doing external stitches and internal stitches. The idea was that I would have a natural shape that would drape over my new crease. Will these implants drop more? Will they have some give so as I can move them around? Will they soften?
Thank you for any responses -
The side that had FG has no ripples. The side without FG has ripples. I think a session or more of FG and a nipple, and I am calling it a day! These look like the same size under clothing, but with more cleavage. I think he set these implants closer to the middle. I just know that without clothes, I look all boobs!! -
Slinky,
I know I don't want my implants to be as high, or wide as my expanders. If I try to put on a blouse with buttons it pulls across my chest now. I don't want them this big! Also, I look wider across my chest now, I don't like that at all. My husband doesn't either. It makes me look frumpy. -
Goldie, I think I just have thin skin. It took 3 months for my boob side to completely heal. -
Goldie, I hear ya! Actually, under clothes, I look deceptively average. It's when I am naked or in a bikini that I look very boobilicious! -
Hello, Ladies - I haven't posted in quite some time, but I wanted to share something that's made a big difference in how my breasts feel. I had my exchange surgery on June 14th - have the Natrelle 410 Highly Cohesive, Anatomically Shaped implants (gummy bears) - both breasts. I fully expected that they'd feel MUCH better than the expanders and was pretty upset when they didn't ... the last thing I want to do is have another surgery. At any rate, they are harder than I thought they'd be and I'm aware of them constantly. Less than the expanders, but it's not a huge improvement. They do look great which is a plus, but I feel every movement and they're 'hot/sticky' in warm weather and 'cold/hard' in cold weather. It's a weird sensation and something I just have to move past. What I wanted to share is that I haven't worn an underwire bra for almost a year (since my DM last December). I thought that was one of the perks, especially since I was a 36D before my surgery - 34C now. I've been wearing a bra, even at night, but it offers NO support, whatsoever. Decided I needed a new one and went back to my favorite lingerie store - Soma Intimates - and bought the underwire bra I used to wear. OMG, what I difference it made! I barely feel my breasts now and didn't realize that support would make such a difference. For any of you who are experiencing the same 'discomfort,' I highly recommend a Soma Vanishing Back Full Coverage Bra! You can order online if you don't have a store near you. They do run small, so I'm wearing a 34D. Good luck, all!
