just stopping by to let y'all know that I was hospitalized last night with temp of 102.6. I felt soooo sick. They've got some really powerful antibiotics on board now, so I no longer feel like I'm going to die. So far, it's looking like the port is okay. I have a little urinary tract something going on, but no pneumonia, at least. I'm hoping I can go home tomorrow --my poor little doggy is just about beside himself with worry.

Jamigb, sorry you had to have another node removed but good they caught it. Your attitude seems to be really positive and I think that helps a lot. Good luck with the scarf tying. I can barely do one around my neck, let alone my head! Positive vibes to you!

Lisa, I don't recall what post you are looking for but my own thoughts are: if they offer something to you, TAKE IT (Valium, Dramamine, whatever). Make sure to take pain pills if you have pain. Don't let it get the best of you. And REST REST REST!!!

Brithael, Lordy my girls didn't get smaller or I'd need a magnifying glass to find them! Perhaps you nice, curvy gals have a different response. I agree this is a good time to reduce your DD if you wish to.

    HUGS!!

Poodles, that's a bummer. You must feel really picked on by now. Your recovery has been rough. Glad the port is okay and that you feel better. Your doggie is going to be beside himself when you come home! Take it easy and get well!!!

    HUGS!

Brithael, You may want to consider having oncoplasty, reduction, and lift at the same time as your lumpectomy. I went from a DDD to a D and love my perky girls. Recovery is a bit longer than just a lumpectomy as both breasts are involved. Insurance will pay you don't have to wait. If you can find a Plastic Surgeon who is a preferred provider all the better for cost. Good Luck with surgery!

Brithael I have D-DD breasts too and literally the first thing I said upon diagnosis was maybe I can reduce and lift a little during this process! After my lumpectomy my left breast is now 20 years younger! It is about 2 inches higher than my right now. It doesn't show too much in clothing but it's very obvious without clothes. And...radiation might make it even smaller! I am considering getting the other one to match after all this is over, but not sure I'll still be so ready to do it at the end of this long ride. Who knows how I'll feel by then! Good luck with your surgery!

Not home yet, Peggy. Hoping the blood cultures are okay and I can go home later today. My back and neck are killing me from laying in this hospital bed!

yes, I'm allowed out of bed. I'm just kinda weak. It doesn't take much to wear me out. I got just exhausted after only eating breakfast.

@mustlovepoodles- When I was in the hospital for my knee replacement surgery, I felt like the hospital bed mattress had been stuffed with doorknobs. It's much better at home. Hope you get there soon

Well, bad news. The doctor Just came in--all my blood counts are low. My white count stopped precipitously overnight. So, at least one more day in the hospital. Foo!

Poodles, damn! However, you are obviously where you should be as sick as you are. Hurry and get well. Could the low white cell count be because of the chemo? Hurry and get well!

    HUGS!!!

yea, the fever is better, although i had a massive cold sweat last night. Theyre not sure if the low counts are a result of chemo or infection. I had Neulasta 5 days ago, so that should have had me covered.

I don't remember ever being so weak and ill. At least I'm not throwing up--that would make the whole situation infinitely worse. My husband has been here much as he can. He has his own health struggles. But he was able to help me walk a lap around the nurses desk a while ago.

Poodles, so glad the fever is better. Well, I'd have thought the Neulasta would have taken care of the problem, too. Shoot. I assume your docs are baffled, too. Glad DH was able to help you do some walking. This has to be hard for both of you.

    HUGS!
