I am investigating alt treatments for stage 4. I have heard that vit c can be very very effective - god for you!!!
Han anyone heard of taking curcumun for bc?
france
-
New, it sounds like this woman's mass that shrunk was not actually cancer to begin with.
France, yes, many people take curcumin supplements. It is supposed to be a powerful anti-inflammatory, among other benefits.
-
For me it's not a matter of believing or not but I am completely turned off by the wholesale denigration of doctors and conventional medication. It really detracts from ones credibility when you have to rake others over the coals as part of discussing the merits of your chosen treatment. Don't even get me started on invoking G-d into the mix ( no, I am not an atheist). Wonder if the op will be back.
Caryn -
Caryn, completely agree.
-
Belief is also part of the placebo effect which I also believe in.
-
We ALL have heard stories of spontaneous disappearance of previous cancers. It happens. Lucky to her it happens to! But again, how can you reduce a 6 mm cancer by 5 cm????? And again, as has been said, you are NEVER cured from breast cancer. That's why the runs and charities are "FOR THE CURE". doi
-
You all know this is spam, right?
-
I call BULL SHIT!
-
How would one know it's spam?
-
It's not spam. He's not trying to sell something. Someone PM'd me and told me he is on Facebook trying to get money so his wife can continue to get IV treatment. So he's just trying to get money. He picked the wrong venue here!
-
LOL! "someone?' huh? There's reliable information!
Let's try not to spread gossip. It's unkind.
-
NattyGroves.....In Barbe's defense, she is not spreading gossip, trust me on this.
Barbe has been on these boards for four years and a great support to many...she's not
the type to be unkind. -
I don't think it's allowed to reveal a poster's name here without explicit permission to do so.
-
I hate to get into this but since she received the info via pm, I think she is just being respectful in not revealing that "someone's" identity. Not ideal but that's the way it happens sometimes.
-
Yes, this is the way malicious gossip happens. It's never defensible.
The only reason to spread this kind of gossip is to malign somebody. Have some respect, please.
Speading rumors ruins the reputation of BCO. Let's find the best in people...
I'll now leave you to your "better angels."
-
I wish to reiterate that Barbe is NOT spreading malicious gossip nor is she maligning anyone. I was the one who sent her a PM. I have met this woman on several occasions....don't know her husband. She sent me an e-mail telling me about her FB
and that she was asking for donations as her treatments are very expensive.
I sincerely hope this puts an end to accusations that have been made. -
Thanks, scottiee1,
Barbe was being respectful of your pm but I am glad you chose to come forward.
Caryn -
I for 1 do not see any malicious gossip here. We are all entitled to our opinions. If they are asking for money for her treatments, they should indeed go someplace else, as they are in the midst of people who go to these midieval butchers to save their lives. I personally found the man really offensive.
-
Marywh,
I agree with you about not seeing any gossip, but this is the alt forum so there are probably more than a few who would call surgeons by that phrase.
Caryn -
True. And Im not against alternative meds and treatment. There are quite a few things that I do and take that would be considered alternative, so Im not against it. Whats right for 1 person may not be right for another, and I usually dont stick my nose where it doesnt belong, but that particular post has bothered me ever since it came out.
-
maybe they posted here because they were enthusiatic about the treatments and wanted to let other people in simlar situations know hoping it could help others as well
-
Mary,
Yes, I'm totally fine with the choice to do alt therapies too. It would be nice if the inflammatory language could be toned down. It has the unfortunate effect of being very polarizing.
Caryn -
I'm guessing mossback will not return here....but, just incase...
CRAP CRAP CRAP!! Did you not even consider who you would be speaking to on these boards??? To tell US about our treatments being a conspiracy??? I'm alive right now because of the medical treatments I took...currently NED! So, ladies, I'd like to post my own newsflash!!!!
this just in.....AC Chemotherapy, Taxol Chemotherapy, 8,000 doses of radiation and several surgeries took my tumors!! WHOOT WHOOT!!
Ok, I exaggerated on the rads... -
Deleted...it just wasn't very nice...
Happy you and your wife believe she is cured...concerned about the weird details to the story... -
Caryn, what inflammatory language is in this thread!?!?! It's posts like yours that cause problems. This has been a calm discussion. On bco we are NOT allowed to mention another member. That is in the rules. So I kept my counsel. Scottie "outed" herself and validated what I had said. This is the truth. Not spam and not malicious "rumour". Why do you assume something you haven't heard with your own ears to be not true?
If you recall the link on the previous page, vitamin C infusions were given WITH conventional treatment, not INSTEAD of treatment. You really have to read ALL the words to get the whole picture.
-
Why can't we have a difference of opinion, and be able to voice that opinion, without being accused of something? People will always have conflicting points of view on things and as long as the debate doesn't involve personal attacks or just plain shitty-ness, for lack of a better word, it shouldn't be an issue to discuss them.
This has been a pretty mellow convo up til the last few posts, where it went personal and it shouldn't have. What kind of a discussion board bashes you for voicing your opinion and discussing the topic of the thread??
This kind of crap is why myself and I would guess many others are afraid to comment on half the topics on here. Sad really.
-
If any of you are unhappy with the way this thread has gone then you do not have to visit it. I do not believe that anyone said anything derogatory. I believe that we are all adults and can decide for ourselves. Perhaps if his wife had written this thread I might not find it so offensive. My personal opinion.
-
"Caryn, what inflammatory language is in this thread!?!?! It's posts like yours that cause problems."
Barbe,
Why are you attacking me? The inflammatory language I was pointing out referred to the op' s reference to doctors as medieval butchers. I thought you were very respectful not to reveal who pm'ed you and said so much in response to natty's post. Nattygroves was the person who made the comment regarding rumors, not me at all. Please re-read this. I don't get hurt easily but either you didn't read my posts or confused me with someone else and that does hurt me.
Caryn -
I believe the man . He has no need to lie. I also know about the doctor in Kansas. The doctor that discovered vit c cures cancer died but I think his name was. Dr paulding. There is a book out . Also these treatments in Peru are very cheap with American dollars . This high levels of vit c build up your immune system very strong . Cancer hates a strong immune system. I looked into this myself but it would run me like 200 a week. If anyone ever read chrisbeatcancer.com story you will read how he also did the vitamin c.

Thanks for the reading suggestion and link, gives hope
Don't want to take away hope but be careful when making a decision which includes turning down conventional treatment. I don't speak in favor of anything but just came across the following article: "Outcome analysis of breast cancer patients who declined evidence-based treatment." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22734852
Another interesting theme to look into that gives hope to the non-conventional ways is epigenetics. I saw a program about it and it really motivates you to see how much the environment has to say when it comes to gene expression.
