Hrf, I didn't even know about revisions until coming to this site. It's my understanding that for the most part its a one shot deal here. However, that being said, I've also heard that its also at PS discretion. Since I'm only two weeks out its too early for me to know. I haven't even seen surgeon since I left the hospital. See her tomorrow afternoon.
Janet, thanks for sharing. It's just nice to know that what is happening is not unusual. This is the kind of stuff they need to tell you about. I've had blisters before but nothing like this! Lol
Lifie, so glad the young man is going to be ok. I can truly relate to the pain of this devasting event as my cousin took his life this way 2 years ago at the age of 34. He was like a little brother. His sister, who is my best friend ( we are like sisters), found him. He unfortunately was very good at hiding his depression! God bless this family as they try to recover!
Movie and nahahi, have a blast! The two of you together will be hell on wheels!
Goldie-still thinking of you!
Faith- positive energy your way! (((hugs)))
Bailey, I need some of your wisdom and humor!
Marty, hope you and your DH are recuperating well. I miss your wisdom.
Kuka, you amaze me- I see you as the energizer bunny! Good on you!
Sorry for those I missed. I do read all posts and try to post what I can. Lots of likes if there was a like button here!
Don't know what I'd do without you ladies!

((((Typewriterjenny)))) I'm going on Thursday and I'm cleaning, food, shopping and step the beds!! That's all we can do!! Good luck sister!
((((Hrf)))) and anyone else going into surgery!!! Xoxo -
** Typewriterjenny** what time for you?? Don't know my time until weds... Gonna be early I think because I'm getting A double everything , it 10 hours or so!!
-
I'm not sure yet either. Should know tomorrow. I'm hopeful that it's early for both of us! I was told about 8 hours because of the mastectomy, implant removal, lymph dissection then DIEP on the left side. I wish they could do surgery at like midnight so we were sleeping at our normal time! I'll post after the dye injection etc tomorrow.
-
HUGS Hrf and SBE too!!!
-
Trying to see if I can download a pic here. This is a test. If it works, I wanted to share the thought.
It didn't work. Does anyone know how to do this? I went to HELP & did what they said - I thought!
-
Sharon - when I uploaded a picture per the directions I had to open a photobucket account. I've only done it once, but the directions worked. Perhaps you inadvertently skipped a step.
Thanks to everyone for asking. Things are going well. I am one week from my Stage 2b. No pain pills. Really amazing bruises. My DH is at his one week tomorrow. We take lovely slow walks, short. Though in the compression and intense humid heat, need I say I am in search of a glacier?
For those up this week - you will do fine. Do not worry, just relax and take it as it comes. For those healing from recent procedures please, please remember that healing takes time. That is measured in weeks, not days. What has healed on the outside may still be healing on the inside. Patience is the byword. One day you will suddenly realize that whatever had been nagging at you is no more and that your new boobs are yours and just as good as the originals - probably better. -
Movie, I just checked out the Iceberg Lake Trail in Glacier Park, and it looks like a lovely hike. It is even made more special by that mountain that cuts the sun off from Iceberg Lake . . . . Mt. WILBUR!!!!!! Hope the grizzlies stay out of your way, and enjoy the Timtams!
Marty, glad to hear you and DH are doing as well as can be expected. Can't imagine wearing compression in the summer heat - it must be so hot.

Hi All,
I am getting ready to schedule my BMX and DIEP with Dr. Massey in New Orleans for September. I've been reading through looking for people that have used her but haven't found them so far. If anyone has any comments, please write. thanks!
-
Wow! I was gone for 5 days and I am again 10 pages behind. I think about all of you girls everyday. You have been so supportive when I needed you most. I may tend to be a lurker as I just cant keep up with the pace of this wonderful thread. I will poke my nose in once in a while.
Katy- your granddaughter is beautiful. What a wonderful addition to your life. -
Very long day today, had to go with DH to take care of some family issues, and also had my last drain removed. Hooray! I was very surprised at myself, I feel like I am talking slow, need more time to think, just feel very sluggish overall. I am sore and waiting for tylenol to kick in. I'm going to try to only use the prescription pain meds during the overnight and see how that goes.
-
This is such a busy thread!
sbe, scary that your celulitis came on so quickly. Happy that it is behind you and you can hold that beautiful grand baby now. Hope you will be rescheduled at just the right time.
Goldie, praying for a really good report from your CT scan.
Faith, praying for double strength for you.
jenny, hrf, and Tracy, hope you all have pleasant sleeps that are uneventful.
Marty, thanks for reminding us that are only a few weeks post-op that time is on our side!
Mammalou, you certainly need strength for your job, even without your complications.
What a strong group of women! Welcome to any that are joining us. The wealth of knowledge in this group is wonderful for those of us that need information. Have a nice evening. ...Julie
-
Goldie- how did your scan go today? What flavor did you get? I get to have a CT scan tomorrow! They gave me berry flavor- blech! I had that last time and couldn't stand anything with berries for months afterwards. I have to drink 1 tonight and one in the morning.
-
I have to be at hospital by 6 am. Surgery begins at 8 am.
Christina, congrats on getting the last drain removed
Movie & Nahahi....have a great time -
Faith, that sounds like a good plan. Might as well be under once, and get both things done, and maybe your plastics guy can nudge your other surgeon to do a nice neat job.
The CAT scan itself was nothing, and since doing my breathing exercises the 20 second breath holds are no big deal. What was a big deal to me was the girl couldn't' find my vein 3 time and I had to demand she get somebody else, and the stuff you drink goes through you in an interesting way, if you know what I mean. I know my toilet better than ever....hehehehehhehehe. I am supposed to know something Thursday, not sure what because the stuff I drank today will not show my liver any better, it will show my intestines better, which are not an issue, I hope. I am getting very close to finding a different MO. I really hope I didn't just go through another unnecessary test. The prednisone and the benedryl together today was also an interesting combination. I slept a bit this afternoon.
Thanks for all the good wishes. Don't know what I would do without you guys. I am looking forward to a quiet evening in front of the TV.
Damiana, what is your scan for and what kind? I had to start drinking two hours before I got there, and then the rest when I got there. I had vanilla. It was so gross. Like you said, drink it cold, fast and with a straw. The only way. I hope you don't have the same intestinal reaction I had.
-
MAPBB, the thread NOLA in September has plenty of ladies on it that have had their surgery done by Dr M. I didn't have mine done by her but I've heard great things about her.
-
Goldie, hope your scan results are good. When will you hear?
-
Here is grandbaby Aubrey in an "artistic" photo session, sitting nekkid in a basket. I happen to know this resulted in a wet spot on the nursery rug. Three weeks on Saturday!
-
Goldie- mine is to see what is going on with my muscle- if it truly is torn stitches in my muscle, or something else. Did you have to fast? If mine goes through me fast I don't mind. I have a really annoying issue with constipation so I will take whatever help I can get
Hrf- good luck tomorrow! -
Sbe.......gorgeous........that is all......
-
MAPBB - Dr. Massey is my doctor and I adore her!!! I will PM you so we can chat.
-
Omg...So much new info...what really sticks with me is that Movie and Nihahi are going to pilgrimage to Mt. WILBUR!!! And eat the sacred TIMTAMS! Life is good for our sisters. St. Wilbur has blessed them
Christina - I had serious brain fog after surgery this time. Even some memory issues. Idk how much "chemobrain" and multiple surgeries in last two years and then 10+ hours of anesthesia for flap combined to cause the issue. I was talking to my college roommate two weeks ago and couldn't remember that she came and spent the whole day with me the 2nd week after sx! It took me several minutes to piece some of it together. It's better now...slowly, but better. Hang in there...you are still very close to your sx date.
Marty thanks for checking in...was thinking of you and DH this morning.
Sweetpickle and Mammalou ...bless your hearts...So much to do!
Faith...have faith, sister!
Goldie prayers for good results.
Julie and Sherry...bless you..just bless you ..you are sweethearts
You all rock...wish I had more time with y'all! -
My word, Sbel....She is beeeeee-u-fitful!!! Three weeks old!
I look forward to that experience (someday....)
-
Hrf - Hello to you too Ontario sister. I've heard very good things about Sunnybrook. (I'm TGH) . I will definately be going in for some tweaking. They don't cal it Stage 2 - but I think it's the same thing. I can live with the side boob, but I can't live with my pointy little 'dog ears' unless I get an entirely new wardrobe. And I miss my curves.
Christine - Well it's about time that friggin' drain came out. Congratulations! Don't worry about feeling sluggish - two steps forward one step back. It just means you need to rest
-
Sbel, what a cutie! And maybe a bit feisty like her gran!
Goldie, praying for a clear scan. The IV is always the worst part for me, my new normal being in my ankle or foot!
Faith, praying for peace for you and courage as you slay this beast and hopefully get touched up, too. I hope you find a doc in whom you have perfect confidence.
Christina, I'm wondering if my mind will ever be the same. Today I missed my LE appointment as I looked at the wrong day on the calendar! I just haven't been keeping track of days. So frustrated. Not sure I can blame Wilbur at this point!
Bailey, thanks for checking in when you have time. Your sweet spirit and sense of humor is an impt. part of us!
Sweetpickle, you rise again! Mercy, you have taken on a lot! It's good to hear you have turned the corner just in time and feel life is taking on some "normalcy.
Liefie, did you do your class today? I hope you felt better at the gym. I walked too far and did too much today. So hard to patiently rest!
Greetings and thoughts of good health to everyone else! -
hrt, I am supposed to hear something Thursday.
Quiet here tonight. Hope everybody is doing well.
-
Sbel, absolutely adorable.
I've been gone a few days & can't possibly read up on all the posts just yet so sorry if i don't comment on anything.
I head into Stage 2 tomorrow @ 10am. I was totally smurfed up with the pre op marker until I decided to spend my last day out in the swamp on an air buggy ride (fly is more like it!) and Mother Nature decided about 15 mins into this crazy ride to let loose! I have never been so wet or had so much fun!! Wonder if I can mark myself, maybe they'll never know. "Ya Doc, you sure did mark that chin...."
Can't wait to have Wilbur at my side. Check in later. -
Barbmal, good for you to get out there and have some fun! They can always redraw. Best wishes to you for success and easy recovery!
-
Damiana, the reason I ask is because the tech who did my scan said the dye I drank was only to highlight the intestines, and colon, so I don't know why they would make you do that again, unless they figure they might as well see everythng while they are having you in there. No, I didn't have to fast, just drink that stuff when I got up, and kept drinking it till I got there. So gross. I did have a piece of toast so I could take my meds, but I didn't eat again till late this afternoon.
SBE...baby girl is gorgeous, and she is letting everybody know she did not want to be in that basket..lol. I would have peed on the floor too! LOL
Jeannie, except for forgetting your appt. you reallly seemed to have turned the corner. You sound really good. Complaining about doing too much is better than too little, just don't over do.
Marty, glad Mapbb found you. Perfect. She will feel so much better about her choice.
-
I'm lmao here....movie...I think it more likely that you'll be carrying ME back from the Mt. Wilbur pilgramage! I'm not leaving any timtams on the "altar", so I hope he's not expecting some kind of offering!!!! I had a wonderful massage today....but lordy, I'm tired. Hope I find some energy before our rendezvous. I'll pm you after this message.
Ok ladies.....testament to how tired I am, and today's chuckle.....You know you're overtired, when the fact that your compact has slipped down into the cupholder in your car, you try and try to get it out, (unsuccessfully), and find the frustration brings you to tears. Eventually, I "got my TOWANDA on", came upstairs and got a hammer and chisel, and pounded the beejesus out of that sucker, until it was in enough pieces I could get it out. Then, of course, had to get the vacuum, to clean out all the bits and pieces, along with the contents of the compact!!!! Of course, this same friggin compact would have shattered to pieces, had I dropped it on the bathroom floor.
There....nihahi over and out....have good nights!
ps....sbe.....she's beautiful....so glad you've figured out how to post photos!
