Trip to see Vinnie

My appointment withVinnie is for March 31 and I can't wait! My PS tried to diss Vinnie "since he is only a "tattoo artist" but my BS's PA said she had seen patients who had their's done by many PS's offices and many by Vinnie. The ones by Vinnie are far superior! That cinched it for me.
Even if insurance does not reimburse, it's worth the $600!!!
Hugs,
Peggy -
Yay for you Peggy! Yes Vinnie is definitely worth it! -
PeggySull - I showed my PS some pics of Vinnie's work, and he absolutely refused to believe that they were just tatts, not nipple recons.
I finally showed him the "Before" and "After" gallery on my iPad... he was astounded and told me to go for it - that there was no way, with his equipment, or skill level, that he could approximate those kind of results.
AND - he now shares that info with his recon patients. -
Has anyone gone to Vinnie for areola tats and gotten another tat at the same time? I've been thinking about getting a tattoo to mark this change in my life and thought the visit to Vinnie would be the perfect time. Just wondering if he will do both the same day and if you have to book it in advance. (I may change my mind at the last minute!) -
lala - you probably need to talk to his assistant, Richie. I am not sure if he would be willing to do something else or if you would need to book with one of the other people in his shop for the little "extra". -
hi lala,
I had a small tattoo on my bottom that didn't make a complete transfer and asked if he would be able to repair it when he did the nipple and he said he had others in his shop that could do that but his specialty was the nipples , hope that answers your question -
I contacted Vinnie and his people this week. I was surprised to learn he is in NOLA only 3 days a month. I thought it was half/half kind of thing. They are booking out now into late summer. I was also a little surprised at all the info they need, like my path report. Is that the NOLA location only or his MD place too?
Just for ease of appointment booking I might do MD instead...tho it would be fun to do a few days in NO. -
I did not need the path report for MD but I did fill out an informational sheet with those types of details. -
kayb,
Am I undertanding correctly that my out of pocket cost is the same in MD or in NOLA?
I'm getting ready to schedule my turn (woohoo!!!) and have been trying to determine where to go. I had thought insurance was more likely to cover it in NOLA. Is that wrong? Or does it depend on what insurance we have?
I'd far rather go to MD if costs are the same. -
Do they bill insurance in MD also? On the phone the girl in NOLA said out of pocket would be no more than 400 or 600, I guess depending if you do 1 or 2. I think she said the actual cost is 1800, which is what they bill insurance. Not sure what happens if insurance doesnt bill. Guess it makes sense the evils in the insurance co would want 'proof'. Ill send them a selfie of my chest. -
I think a bilateral is now $800. -
thanks!
I've emailed to get more info and will also call my insurance to see what they say. Personally, I'd enjoy MD more, but if it saves me a LOT I'll wait for NOLA. If it only saves $200 I'll pack my food and walk a lot to make up some of the difference. -
I had bilateral tats in NOLA in September and paid out of pocket and it was $600. I don't have insurance though. -
His rates just went up to $800. -
Hi Ladies---I have emailed Vinnie twice to try to schedule an appointment. Does it usually take them a while to get back in touch or should I be calling instead? -
Has anyone every had Vinnie's nips touched up locally? I think I do need a little touch up on one side over top a stretch mark. I am fearful of it getting messed up though. -
lala... I called Britney at NOLA to schedule. 504-899-2800. -
I had an email back but he gave me the phone number to call... -
Lala, are you going to NO? If so, I talked to Brittany and she sent an email informing me of all the reports they need to have before they can schedule the appointment. NO is scheduling August and September now. -
I think I'm going to try to go to his MD office. I spend my summers in VA and would only be a couple of hours from him. My other option is to book NO for Sept/Oct since I will be back in SC. Someone suggested to me to shoot for the MD shop since that's where he has all his equipment and colors and spends most of his time. Hmmmm......decisions.....decisions..... -
I think if you book in MD, you can do it a lot earlier... but you'll need to submit your own insurance papers... I also think he has a full set of supplies in both locations. -
Vinnie, I know you read these boards and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart 😍 I got my tattoo done this morning (your first client of the day) and I left the office with the biggest smile..... Between Dr D and you, I feel like I am complete again! Thank you doesn't seem like a big enough statement, thank you, thank you, thank you for the best way to end 2013 and hope you have a safe flight home and a wonderful holiday with your family. -
I second that Vinnie! You have been given a gift and it's so nice you share it with us BC survivors. Thank you for everything!!! Wishing you & your family the very best!! Forever grateful to you, Dr. Sullivan & Trahan -
Yay Marcie and Melanie!!!! -
I'm schedule in Nola (appointment is in August). Can't wait to complete this whole process and looking forward to the celebration in the "Big Easy".
Congrats to those that have crossed the finish line!! -
I am scheduled for Jan 30th with Vinnie in Md. This will actually be my 3rd trip to his shop, since he did some patch tests on me at my request, because I have very allergic tendencies. Thankfully, I am not allergic and will have both done next visit.
Question: Do the tats itch when they are healing? Also, can you wear a bra immediately after he does the tattoos??
Thanks,
-
Hey Vinnie
We are on for April 10. Can't wait.

B, AWESOME! You planning on seeing Dr. D that day as well? I can't wait to finally meet you... I feel like I know you already! See you in the spring V
-
Vinnie... I have requested a 3pm with him..(you are 3:30). Have not heard back from Jeanine on that... Just thought it would be a good idea so you guys can coordinate. And if he wanted to do any final touch-ups? Fat grafting? Can he do that after the tattoos?
And then dinner? Yes?
-
B,
Dinner... YES for sure! I have learned all the best restaurants... I have my favorites... Revolution is #1... but I am open to whatever. Yes Dr. D can do any surgical "touch-ups" after tattooing... he is the master of this stuff... the sculptor... I am simply the painter... I have the easy job...lol!
He will advise us on what is best. I can't wait to wrap this all up for you it seems like it has been a long road for you but the end is near... 4 months away... right around the corner!!!!
see you soon.... V
