Trip to see Vinnie

I imagine I will still go for it. It's all up to what works for is as individuals, right?
-
absolutely Carol. And it looks like you had a lumpectomy. That makes a difference, imo!
-
Mmm, no, that was the excisional biopsy and SNB (the options don't give enough choices). I had already a mx on that side in 2009, and will have prophy mx on the left side after I'm done with chemo for the TNBC I now have. In the mx side. I'll be going flat and fabulous with no recon, probably end of October when chemo is over and before rads start.
Hopefully then, 3d aureola for Spring Break! in Nola, as I'm in Texas...
-
I hope all goes well for you and you get your tat for spring break!
-
PinkHeart:
Wow! You've been through way too much!! So sorry!
Do u think the main issues were from the radiated tissue, Alloderm, and # of lymph nodes removed? What is it that the 1st docs did wrong in your opinion?
What do you think they should've done differently? Maybe others can learn from your horrible experience...if you don't mind sharing.

Do most UMX women get a recon nip? I would love to not have the always-on look but wonder if it would be weird to have one 3D nip tattoo and 1 regular nip. As of now, my husband thinks like carolpr56. He's Chinese and says my mx side is like him and the native side is like me! I do want something there, just really really don't want a permanent headlight since my native side never shows through. Any uni mx out there do one nip tattoo?
-
lala, if you go to vinnie's website you will find some examples of uni with a tatoo on one and a natural on the other.
-
I forgot to post. Got my tats last wed. I love them! Really makes these boobs look real. I think i really through him for loop with my football scar & anchor scar on each side. We couldnt figure out how my original ps did football scar. I now have homework to massage my scars 10 min day to make these scars fade. But i love love love them. Mine are just circles as i allready have oragami nipples
-
lala, that is a good question, I am wondering the same. I guess either way I go I will have one on and one off at some point throughout the day. I just can't decide what is the better option, 3D or constructed nipple. If I get the 3D and look at myself in the mirror it may look normal, but when I look straight down I won't look normal. Ugh, so confused!
-
Fran - Yay! Good for you! Thanks for coming back and posting. I'm seriously considering having him put in the 3-d nipple ring, too. I'm not kidding!! I think it would make me smile to see it. So happy for you!
-
kayb thanks I think that's awesome. I just don't know if I can justify another procedure even if it is in office. Maybe the 3D tatoo is the way to go. My problem is I tend to over analyze things.
-
I got a recon nipple and asked for low lights... It is very close to the original, and not high beam... I will ten get tattoos with Vinnie next spring.
-
I have an appt. scheduled for Dec. 3rd.
-
Congrats Russell! When did you call to make your appt ?
-
Yay Melanie...
-
Leaving for NOLA tomorrow my appointment is tuesday. Getting very excited. It really feels like the conclusion of 3 very hard years of surgeries and chemo although I feel like it was easier for me than many people. I am grateful for all of you shring your journey. I had no complications and I healed quickly through each challenge. I even tolerated the TES and fills so easy my PS was amazed. I am 100% satisfied with my reults so far well not really but I do feel that they look very good even though my expectations were a bit high.
-
Carrol, I hope we get to meet for that drink. I'm coming down Wednesday and getting my tats Thursday.
-
Congrats carol, enjoy your trip!
-
Maybe we can all meet for a drink... after tattooing of course...lol. I look forward to meeting you both and put an end to your long journeys... I just hope you can put up with all my stories while I tattoo... I leave in the morning...see you in the BIG EASY!!!
-
Wish I were going to be at this tat party. Vinnie, you are my spring 2014 project. Last surgery with Dr D will be this November. Can't wait to be done.
-
Vinnie!! Yay I am on my way. We drove from KC to almost to Memphis last night. Should be at the Bieneville House tonight. Can't wait to be your latest masterpiece.
Hope we can all go for a drink for sure. Would love to meet you Judy.
-
Just got my tatoos they look amazing! Even though they were different nipples he made them look the same at margaritaville now sipping a monitor no belong conch fritters
-
Carrol, congrats!! Did it hurt any? Just wondering.. I know that I'm numb but I was wondering if there was any feeling what so ever? Tomorrow at this time I should be in NOLA.
-
Yay Carrol2 - Congrats!
-
Had mine two weeks ago. No hurt. Had him cover old rad tat. Now that hurt. No more tats for me
-
hmm well one side hurt a bit the other only hurt only on the top part the lower part I coouldn't feel on that side. It's not horrible pain jsut feels like scratching in the same spot over and over, at first its nothing then after a while it gets sore and then before you know it it's over. I def made the ouch face though.
-
Hey Judy and Vinny if you wanna have a drink and some fun we are going to be at Margarittaville tonight after 6:30 there is a guy we met 2 years ago there who will be there singing Jimmy Buffet tunes which my husband adores, and I do too being as we were married in Key West. So come on over and say hello if your going to be around. We will be singing along as much as possilbe. They make a great Mojito there only $7.50
-
Carrol, I had a change in plans. No tattoos for me today. I'm going to have more revisions done on my left side tomorrow. We can still meet tonight, although probably water for me.
-
wow Judy revisions? What happened?
Well sorry we missed you but we went to margarittaville but left early because my husband got sick, too much spicy food and beer I guess. We ate at cafe ameilie and it was so good but wlked over to buffets and had one drink and left.
leaving in the morning hope all goes well
-
We went to Margaritaville and ate, it was pretty good. Sorry to have missed you. My revisions are on my left side, my left breast is a tad lower than my right and I really wanted my drs opinion on it before I got tattoos, so he said where they would cut to lift it would be right where my tattoo would be. I'm surprised they could get me in tomorrow, so it wasn't a wasted trip after all. This surgery should only be about a hour and half. I wanted to know first before tattoos instead of getting them and then they say oh we could of done something.
