CC ...feel for you....know what it is like here....can't imagine your turmoil.....all I keep hoping is this is the end of it, and we got our winter punishment from Mother Nature early........
Sally.......screamed long ago....lol......my son, one of 6 kids is very attentive to me.....when all this began he was on a cruise, that is the Dad to the the grandson whose dog I had...........had he been home 90% of this would not have happened, but he was not here..........he got home Monday at 3:30 in the morning.....was due in at 11pm.....again weather related...but he called immediately, and was here yesterday checking everything out.
He doesn't know about todays fiasco.......spared him the bullshit....he is the owner of big Rehabilitation Facilities here in Philly, and after just getting back the last thing he needs is his whining mother with all her bullshit problems......he alredy called the heating guy......was not gonna hit him with this 1/2 hour later.........lol
Well hope your ok CC dealing with your mess, and all I can say is Hurry Spring........and Mother Nature if this is your idea of a joke.........WE ARE NOT LAUGHING............
-
CCFW, 14 degrees, your cut off, still seems frighteningly cold. I guess I have lost the cold tolerance that I had when I lived in Chicago.
-
Sally......OMG.........Chicago...........2 of my grandsons live there and they said it is brutal......one said to me.....Nan it is so cold it hurts........
They have lived there for around 4/5 years.....they own a Condo right overlooking Lake Michigan, and said the vapor coming off that is amazing........they both said they are getting tired of the cold and wind, and are looking for a warmer place...........one has an offer in Santa Barbara, Ca., and is considering moving.........the other had to go to NY for business on Monday morning.....said he sat on the runway at O'Hare for 2 1/2 hours because of engine trouble..............then the toilet froze, and could not be used, and he had to Poop......laughed at that..........then finally got to NY, and it is brutal there too, and had to sit on the runway for 3 hours because they could not get to a gate because of backed up air traffic......
So I know about Chicago.......ugh......
-
duckyb1, I am happy that I am not flying anywhere right now and hope that none of our web sisters have been caught like your grandson.

The social worker at the oncologists office gave me this site yesterday. I just got around to looking at it. We'll see if it helps with my anxiety....

Mere, welcome, and we are here to help........don't let the name of the thread fool you........some of us llke to "hermit", but when we get going there is no stopping us........another great thread is the STFU thread......now that is really the "nuthouse", but so much fun too....'you will see many of the ladies from here over there too....we call ourselves "Hooligans".....always glad to see Newbies, and your only a Newbie till you introduce yourself.......you did, ..so your not a Newbie as of a couple posts back....lol
So your from Memphis...........country bumpkin, with all your fabulous country music.........love country....on my radio all the time.........No one can sing like a country singer......unless of course your Josh Groban, and I love that boy......
Ok, well don't you be a stranger, .consider this home......anything goes...and again, welcome, come sit a spell, you all come back now ......ya hear......lol
-
Mere, also...........if you like to play games some of the ladies here do that on other threads too........check the Active Topics, and you will find some.......take your pick......those ladies are a lot of fun, and so are their games, all thought up by them........lots of word games, which are a hoot........
Just a suggestion if your into those kind of things........I play a lot, and it is fun........hugs
-
Thanks for the warm welcome ducky! you are a hoot and def right about the south! we love our music, our food and our people! It is amazing and I am so grateful to have a place like this to come to and read and share....
Ill be sure to check out the other games feed... seems fun!
-
MereMere,
Members on this slow pace thread come hear to roost and take a brake from the fast pace threads. Coming here is like stretching out in a recliner.
-
Mere.........wait till you meet the Firecracker.........she is a hoot........she is so crazy I changed her name from Granny to Firecracker.......Granny was just not her style...........and there are a few other's on here always ready for a good time..........
Just keep coming back..........we love Southern Comfort........oops..........now I have to find my Red Solo Cup..............Oh Mere.........how I love that fine country boy, with that fine country song............hugs
-
teka - i noticed the slow pace but im use to it, being in the south and all. you should know we are all a lil slower here... LoL
ducky - Ya there's some awful cute cowboys and some beautiful cowgirls here.... and the occasional crazy elvis tourist.... we love them all! My mom borrowed our recliner over the summer when she broke her ankle and it's still at her house. Really looking fwd to gettin it back!! I think my weenies will be more excited tho...they miss their mommy cuddle time (the chair is jjust not big enough for all 6 plus me!)
-
I'll make room on the roost.
Cute doggie!!
-
OMG........Mere.....love it..........6.......wow......I just gave my grand-dog back to my grandson....I watched her while he cruised the oceans....for 11 days.......loved having her, and miss her now.
I have 2 recliners.....one regular, and one with heat and vibration......was a God send after my rotator cuff surgery, and the BC surgery...........one belonged to my husband who passed away 22 years ago, still like new.......and the other I bouught when I redid the house.........one is cloth, love it.........the one I use the most is leather.....in the family room.....
and yes, you southern people have some beautiful women....good looking men too.
II went to a Garth Brooks concert here in Philly, and I was 2 feet away from those gorgerous blue eyes........what a show that man can put on......still talk about it today, and will get tickets when he comes back on his new tour...........
My son and daughter-in-law have seen every country star in concert here too........and when my grandaughter got married 3 years ago.....the DJ played at her request...."Friends in Low Places", as a dedication to me...my favorite song.......we sang, shouted, and danced to it, and the place went nuts.............oh such memories......
-
Ack! Way behind once again!
Ducky, man sorry you had such a tough time! Hope you can get the sewer mess straightened up quickly!
CCFW, I'm around in that area too, anything below 15°F and I won't go out unless I absolutely have to. And if the wind is blowing.... it is really going to have to be something really important to make me go out.
Welcome MereMere! I think I saw you somewhere else too? I am playing with too many threads and get every one all mixed up. Let alone trying to keep up!! Cute pup!
Hugs!
-
Gramma....guy came....cleaned the line 3 more times.;honestly I wonder if it ice build up...he said no, but it seems odd..same thing happened to my son last night when his wife was washing clothes...the water shot out of the water line, so he thinks it is an ice blockage in the line that takes out the wash water...............who knows, but for now it is ok......however afraid to run the damn washer cause once it drains, it will drain on the floor if it is clogged again........but heavens i have to wash clothes.
Getting a little better here....hopefully it will ease up ......it has been brutal....but not as bad as some other states......
thanks for the concern.....;your a good friend...hugs
-
Hi Mere-Mere welcome, even thos this is not where anyone wants to be--but it's good to be where u can just relax and vent if u want.
-
I've found coming to this thread for "support & chitchat" a welcome brake from "whatever" on the fast pace threads.
I enjoy being on a thread where I am not the youngest, oldest, prettiest, smartest, wisest, whatever, just Teka ;o)
-
Oh Teka we've been together for a while and u r my muse that I always look forward to, whatever is going on, I feel better coming here and catching u'r sharp wit. Thank you.
-
I am the Teka!

Hi hermits- catching up here into another busy week. Our command center is busy this week and the program folks I work for are working to gear up for the next and final system work to bring the last of the hospitals up in May. Too many conference calls today. I am debating between going swimming tonight or going to bed early (lets see which one wins). I am going in an hour later now, but still waking up early (sigh).
Cami- I am sorry that you are feeling so tired. Hopefully it is just the weather/cold that is making you tired, but good that they are checking you to make sure nothing more is going on. Fingers crossed.
Sally- are the scales going up or down? I had both happen during my medical issues. Let things normalize and just try to eat enough but not too much. Protein really helped me the most energy during all the treatment. It helps the the body to heal. I hope you are doing okay with the rads.
Ducky- danged if you have not had it all going wrong your way! This weather is just nuts. Is it thawing out anywhere yet?
I hope everyone else here is doing okay this week!

Jazzy.....thanks for asking.....things are warming up yea to 21, but I'll take that....it was a rough ride, but hey, things could always be worse.......I have my wonderful son looking out for me, and the good Lord takes care of his own, so I will be fine......tough when your alone, but it is what it is.........
With friends like my Hermits, and Hooligans, how can I complain.......I feel God never gives you more then you can handle........hugs and tomorrow is a new day............
-
MereMere, please just be yourself on this thread!
